George! The GOAT, OG! These are not "jokes", these are social/cultural lessons/teachings disguised as comedy. He always makes you think and re-think about "self evident" cultural or social issues. He is/was a genius. His verbal skills and memory out of this world! Thank you very much and more George and maybe Jon Stewart and Bill Maher also pls.
THE most wise, intelectual, smart, honest human who did comedy as well,,,,,and he new years ago whats happening now around the world,,,,,,,,,,,R.I.P GEORGE,,,,,,,,,,,thanks for reaction
You’re absolutely right that there were plenty of people in his audience who were religious or people had different opinions on political and social commentary. This is recorded in a different time when people were more open to hearing ideas that were at odds with or in some ways challenged their own views and beliefs. It was before so many people separated to themselves into one of these two ridiculous left/right red/blue tribes and only started consuming news and entertainment that meets the approval of and is consistent with the worldview of their particular tribe. People of varied outlooks recognized the genius of of Carlin’s observations and mastery of his live performances. His command of the language, cadence and rhythm of his delivery, and use of body language, pantomime, and facial expression was more like a musical theater performance than your standard standup comedy show. You didn’t have to agree with him on everything, but he made you think and question things just as much as he made you laugh. Such a prolific output of high quality art that stands the test of time and remains relevant to new audiences.
One of the many things i like with GC, he speaks the language clearly. Thanks for sharing, I enjoy watching. You both made me wish my Dad was still around and do a Dad - Son reaction vidz too
What he did in this skit, was brought God to human terms. After we have been taught to NEVER to use blasphemy against God and that God is supreme over us all, he brought the whole issue as if he were looking at a work mate. He was raised Catholic, but he went atheist. He knew to go right straight in or not at all....
Hi guys, I love comedy, George is great. Anyone who makes me laugh out loud, and allows me to escape reality for a time, I love. This was a brilliant upload chaps 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Just saw your channel for the first time and I loved it! George was a comic philosopher. He makes you laugh and think at the same time. It will be a long time before we ever see anyone in his league of comics. Now I'm off to look through your reactions!
Check out 70s Carlin.. he's like an entirely different person.. his albums Class Clown and FM/AM are considered comedy classics. in the 60s George was a very mainstream, suit and tie comic doing silly stuff. Then he heard Lenny Bruce, joined the counter culture, grew out his hair and beard and started doing more "conversational" comedy. His stuff in the 70s is very, for lack of a better word, "Groovy". This is"Post 1990" George where his material became increasingly cranky, nihilistic and dark.. culminating with his last special, "Life is Worth Losing"
@Dan Jackson Hi Dan, thanks for the comment and the information. We will return to George again soon and try and find some of his earlier material. Cheers
George Carlin was a gift to mankind. When he passed a little light, laughter, and logic went with him. Its great seeing you guys react and getting a kick out of it though. Often U.S humor and British humor kinda differs but as ya'll said, Carlin's talking about global ideas. And I say 'ideas' and not 'jokes' because it's tough to refute any of his points. If anyone can i'd love to hear it. This bit is largely why i'm an atheist.
If you think the two George Carlin videos you watched we’re funny you need to watch “a list of people who ought to be killed.” This one is by far one of the best George Carlin rants you will ever hear!
Good morning! What a way to start the day :) I recommend checking out his take on "The seven words you can't say on TV" and "Dumb Americans" You Gents will laugh your asses off at both!
I love peoples reactions to this video even the most religious are angry at first but slowly you can see they start to get it. a suggestion is carlin's baseball vs football,or abbott and costello's "whos on first" a classic routine get the 1950's version.
George was a mainstream comedian in the beginning but he slowly became more edgy. 7 Dirty Words did result in a court case that went all the way to the Supreme Court. George was very into language and logic.
React to seven dirty words, euphemisms, similarities, stuff, flying, baseball versus football, you have no rights, people who ought to be dead, and many more!
You might like Jim Jefferies bit on gun control. He is dead funny and dissects the argument for guns. Really good! Part 1: ua-cam.com/video/0rR9IaXH1M0/v-deo.html and part 2: ua-cam.com/video/a9UFyNy-rw4/v-deo.html. It’s one skit but got split up in two parts for some reason.
He makes you think and that is good..Religion is boxing in the Divinity that is inside of us, yet we were not allowed to find out that fact. So some power craving popes would be having their way with us and our children.
I think there are a few you should look at from George Carlin The Ten Commandments : ua-cam.com/video/sk81tUUhRig/v-deo.html Save the Planet : ua-cam.com/video/7W33HRc1A6c/v-deo.html Soft Language : ua-cam.com/video/o25I2fzFGoY/v-deo.html
If you believe that is to the max, you should look on Soviet Cartoons. ( God carry 13 tablets with Commandments, slip, drop and break some. I give you 10 commandments.)
That is the George Carlin I know. I'd never seen the first George Carlin video you reacted to. That first one was a bit 'left-field'. This is 'classic' Carlin. A companion piece is _'GEORGE CARLIN - The Ten Commandments'_ (6m28s) ua-cam.com/video/sk81tUUhRig/v-deo.html . There are a couple of 'Ten Commandments' on YT, but that is the better quality video. Another 'classic' is _'George Carlin on soft language'_ ua-cam.com/video/o25I2fzFGoY/v-deo.html
@G Bulmer Cheers G for the information as always. We have been enjoying our small journey with George Carlin so far and will return to him again soon. We are looking at another comedian this Saturday.
@@BritPopsReact George Carlin was very good. I like new comedians, new sets, or good reactions to familiar sets. So I'll be there. There are plenty of good US and Canadian comedians. However, I find US audiences a bit annoying. They should understand that if they are paying to be there (rather than be paid), no one else _needs_ to hear them. IMO a competent comedian doesn't need shouting, whoops, hollers, or cheers at random times. Just laughing and clapping at the funny part is enough. Anyway, enough of me being grumpy 😃 Best wishes for 2022.
Very funny guy, but not in the traditional joke way. Reminds me of my dad (73, says it like it is, and doesn't care if you like it or not). I like most types of comedy, from the silly (old school Benny Hill, The Two Ronnies etc, and Lee Evans to name a few), to the more observational type like this fella. Michael McIntire (I've probably spelled that wrong) always makes me belly laugh too. Yep, bring on the comedy!
Remember the bible was written by a bunch goat herders thousands of years ago and some believe that the god of the bible was modeled after a war lord .
Thx for sharing your reactions on GC, if its George Carlin reaction i'll be watching it no matter how many times I've seen it. :) For me what makes all these arguments is the kind of word we use to discribe a Supreme being/Universal Creator/Divine Source. Try and dig up were the God word came up including other versions of it by other Culture. In Spanish the word God is DIOS that came from the ZEUS... There were even Human (hybrid) wanted to call themselves as a God. 3 examples are the Ceazars of Rome(invented Government+Religion), Persia and Once in Japan. The wanting to be venerated as Human God (DOG) the watch Dogs/War Dogs of the Watchers/El-ohem
I figured this one would make you chaps a little uncomfortable. Brits are a little closer to the church than us westerners. We haven't fought any religious battles yet.
CARLIN SPOKE "TRUTH TO POWER" BEFORE ANYONE ELSE!!!
Joe Pesci was in the audience. Excellent Reaction AFL to George Carlin good stuff!
what a great man,R.I.P.
The Holy Trinity of comedy: Lenny Bruce, Richard Pryor, and George Carlin.
George was an American treasure.
Relevant from the 60’s to 2,000s
Could do it all !
BORN IN NYC, IRISH-CATHOLIC, IN COMEDY EARLY. HE WAS FIRST HOST OF "SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE" PREMIERE IN 1973. 🙏RIP GEORGE🙏❤❤❤❤
"The first thing the next morning, I became a sun worshiper". Brilliant!
George! The GOAT, OG! These are not "jokes", these are social/cultural lessons/teachings disguised as comedy. He always makes you think and re-think about "self evident" cultural or social issues. Criminally underrated
love y'alls reactions!
YES!!! We get the GOAT today. Rest In Peace, old friend.
He was absolutely brilliant, Miss him.
If you haven’t seen his “you have no rights” or “sanctity of life” both are very good.
YES! Brit Pops, PLEASE react to those two routines as welll1 they are BRILLIANT and STILL relative to today!
Yes and the Ten Commandments! He breaks it down to two and added one of his own.
HIS "ADVERTISING" BIT IS THIS AND MORE.👍👍👍😝😝😝
George is the "Thinking man's comic" There's nothing funnier than the truth
George was a genius. The GOAT!
THE most wise, intelectual, smart, honest human who did comedy as well,,,,,and he new years ago whats happening now around the world,,,,,,,,,,,R.I.P GEORGE,,,,,,,,,,,thanks for reaction
George speaks truth, and flavors it with comedy.
George Carlin on the ten commandments ... brilliant
I'm so glad I got to see him live, something I'll never forget.
Also, Joe Pesci was in the audience that night, so he edited his bit to include him.
Thanks Sean, didn’t realise that!! :) more Carlin to come
Never knew this? Was there an actual regular person he prayed to? Or random, depending on location or audience VIP?
Lies
@@Kasis469 Are you referring to the lies that constitute the buybull and religion? I have to think so.
Listen closely at the very end as he takes his bow...
he gives a shout-out to JP.

I grew up hearing Carlin. My Dad loved his comedy. I really feel it shaped many of my beliefs.😉

Carlin and Pesci were good friends.
I think Gorge Carlin always spoke to our common humanity. He knew that we are all just people.
The man is a genius ahead of his time
Is this your introduction to George? There’s like 20 other amazing bits of his you have to react to haha

Free Floating Hostility is a good one of his..Death Penalty is great..And one is called..Death..which is my favorite.
He was the best. Still miss his humor. Thanks for the post. Great job guys!
george carlin....is a wake up call....to anyone
This was absolutely brilliant!!!! Made my absolute day 🥰🥰🥰
Thank you!!! Much love and respect my friends 🥰
Every thing he said about every re-lie-gion is absolutely true.
George Carlin had an IQ 165! He was one SMART guy!
Yes! Thank you for reacting to this bit❤️✌️
George Carlin was a legend
We call him Father for a reason. Last I checked after getting whooped or yelled at, the parent always said you know I love you eventually.

If you listen, at the end he says "Joe bless you"

We all follow you.
Please react to one of his best routines. Saving the Planet. 😁😂🤣😯😲🤯
@Louie Louie
OK, that sounds interesting, we will return to George soon.
Thanks for the comment.
Some big ones for you from George Carlin. Save the planet, 7 words you can’t see on tv. Stuff, baseball football, dogs and cats, you have no rights.
React to seven dirty words, euphemisms, similarities, stuff, flying, baseball versus football, you have no rights, people who ought to be dead, and many more!

i have always thought the god of the bible acted like an abusive boyfriend.

Yes, like an egomaniacal abusive "boyfriend," good analogy.
