Been waiting for this episode! Looks like you had some great weather while you were out at Frontier! So strange to not see a whole lot of boats sitting on the racks and all the new updates! Looks like you had a great trip out there at least! Looking forward to seeing part 2...

Ha. Me too! But I’ve seen it a few hundred times now. Lol. It gets more exciting in part 2. The trip as Epic. I wanted to try capture the 7hr boat ride across the lake. Every time across it’s always different. Amazing weather and the entire lake to myself basically. Think there was 2 guide boats working. Lol. Plus the jet boat.

@@FishNTheArctic 7 hour trip from town... how many tanks of gas? One of these years I want to do that boat ride from Yellowknife to the lodge

It was almost 2 tanks. 1 fill up half way. Think it was $700 or so in gas that trip.

No gas at the lodge and the barge came in that trip. Added a bit of a twist to things. Lol

Looks amazing! What is the best time of year for big lakers up there?

We catch them all year long, as it’s a short open water season. We basically have 2 months of calm weather, then it gets challenging to navigate the long boat rides to the fish.
My favourite time is August. Nice weather and lots of sun still.
Best to fly to a lodge late in the year as it’s often very windy and hard to travel very far, unless you have lots of time to sit and wait on shore for the weather to break.
