This is great IF it's being used for disc replacement. If it's just being used for fusions then it's pairing something super high tech with a procedure that should be a thing of the past. Fusions just lead to less mobility and more adjacent disc disease. I hope spinal surgeons continue to grow and advance their craft with ongoing refinement of total disc replacements so that people can be pain-free and mobile.

Unfortunately there is still a place for fusions at present. If you have a symptomatic spondylolisthesis, as I do, you will likely need a fusion. If you've had Spondy for some time your neighbouring disc a level up or down will likely be shot too and THAT is a candidate for disc replacement.

There are many issues with disc replacements. They are not always the best route

Yeah that's great but does the surgery itself address all pains that is connected to the spine. The facet, the ligaments, the nerve, the tendons, the muscles etc. That's the question in my mind?

Man, with back problems I've seen like 5 different specialist and maybe only two agree on what the problem is and what needs to be done. It just seems like back pain is a puzzle that can be impossible to solve.

@@johnnybeefum that's true people with authority can do this but everybody has Authority they can't that's what the problem is now we already know how it's done but yet it ain't going to get done because the government is trying to control it and that the problem with the government is there a bunch of idiots that have been running the show and it's in every government so at least we know one step closer they want to make law pretty soon to use something that actually gets rid of all this problems that's what the medical field is needs to be doing make their own laws not the laws of government control on it we can do it if we get out there and figure out how we can vote for better treatment they ought to be a law on that one Happy Thanksgiving have a good day

@@johnnybeefum I seen 6 different dr's and 4 said I would benefit from fusion and even though I didn't want to I finally said yes figuring they were right and a year and half later I still have the same pain so now I'm damage goods and other dr's don't really want to see me .

At 86 and suffering extreme nerve pain in neck, back and legs the choices are difficult to make. First with several comorbidities will I survive the surgery? I know two men that have had surgery to relieve the pain and they still have the pain At least they survived. The risk seems high and the result not assured. I am old school doing my best to deal with the pain. I guess when I can no longer deal with the pain I will make the decision. How about the new ultrasonic surgery down in Florida at the Cantor spine institute?
