Thank you, thank you, thank you. I have been searching for this race for what seems like years. One of the best moments in nascar happens with this race at the end with Big E and Little E. Just awesome, and this Earnhardt fan thanx you a bunch!! :-)
I don't ever think I have ever seen Dale Earnhardt Sr. so happy. There have been times like for his championships and his Daytona win, but enjoying victory with his children is the greatest thing in the world.
Well there was that one where Jr won his first cup race at Texas but out of all the wins Jr had till this point Sr actually stayed to celebrate cause they had the 600 the week after. Before everything else it was just a "Hey congrats good job" and he just leaves to the next race. In my mind the races Jr won before this was when Jr only seen the car owner but when he won this race he saw his dad then dating back to 1998 when they had the exibition at the Twin Ring Motegi in Japan Jr saw the Intimidator
As much as we all miss Dale Earnhardt atleast he got to do all of the main things on his bucket list. He made and raised incredible children and all went on to not only become incredible racers, but also never wondered if they had their dads approval. They all knew he loved and cherished what they did 100 percent and was beyond proud of them. Unlike what Sr got from his dad. I know that alone made him the happiest man on the planet before his time came in feburary. You can see it so much in 2000 and at the the 500. So atleast he went knowing he did more then alright by his kids and hopefully Ralph Earnhardt finally gave that to him as well when he saw him at the track in the sky.
Yes... I can't stand it when they talk without pause when there is literally nothing happening in terms of racing. Just make it comfy to watch, like they did back in the day.
This was the night that the bridge fell down over Highway 29 right outside of the speedway after the race ended. I was there and remember seeing it. We didn’t get out of the parking lot leaving the race until almost 3 AM that morning.
You can't beat Eli Gold's announcing a race--I'd like to hear him every week! Look at how young Junior and Tony look--because they were. Hard to believe that was 2000!
The 2000 racing season is probably safe to say the best year NASCAR has ever enjoyed. Every race was a sellout and TV coverage was excellent. NO CHASE, NO GREEN WHITE WRECKERS, and good, hard, racing between a good crop of veterans and rookies. Dale Jr ran off with rookie of the year honors with multiple wins and top 10s in his first season. His father also won a brilliant race at Talladega in the fall.
But sorry to say this actually it was a dark time for Nascar first losing Adam Petty and Kenny Irwin Jr and then it transistioned into Febuary the following year when we lost Dale Earnhardt
anyone remember after Kes won the championship in 2012 how tipsy and buzzed on TV he was right after the race as he did post race interviews, hes almost blinking one eye at a time lol
NASCAR has done so much in the past few years to try and improve passing in their races, but it’s so strange how they’re nowhere close to where it was in 2000 and around this era. Yeah guys could run off and races could get strung out, but that’s what a race is. Bring your best car best setup, and throw tires on it and you could make some passes. Now tires are rock hard with no fall off, everyone is so gripped up with no horsepower and the sport has suffered for sure. Remember the 90s and 2000s fondly. It’s unlikely we will ever get that back.
Funny how everyone on the track has the upmost respect for mark except for the biggest narcissist tony stewart. He didn't respect anyone! He was always a chump
I think about that everytime I think about this race. I was at this one and we were walking back towards our campsite and were actually walking onto the sister bridge of the one that collapsed right after it did. I remember looking over at the debris and just thinking "holy crap." One of those race track things I've never forgotten.
I remember back then everyone hated Gordon. Nowadays besides Jr and maybe Stewart, Gordon is one of the old dogs that I still try to hold onto to keep memories when NASCAR was fun to watch.
The racing was so much better back then. The drivers were so much more relatable. The Broadcast was even better. They did such a good job of make good every move a big deal and the whole event a big deal.
Except Park basically had someone pushing him into Joe.. And Joe was talking like Parks car was trash.. It was just as fast if not faster Joe just steam rolled him because he was ticked and wasted a lot of other good cars & his own
2:40:15, Mark is being too polite there, Tony got pissed in just one of his anger fits and wrecked Mark intentionally. Wonder how his anger management classes are going.
What is it about certain guys that makes them have so many huge accidents? Steve Park may be the best example but there's Ernie Irvan and Neil Bonnett too
Man that was a huge crash in the last segment, hopefully Nemechek was fined heavily for that bullshit. You don't do that at these speeds going into the corners. Park could've been badly injured
Josh Hamilton Jr is greatness, he is the definition of grace under pressure, always has been, and of resiliency. His greatness doesn't lie where his father's did, it lies in the person his father raised him to be.
He still had a good career. Very hard to live up to your dad. Unfair expectations. He did win two Daytona 500s. He had a good career. And if his dad had not passed, with DEI he would have had even more success. Still a great career.
Josh Hamilton well goober, if you suffered 3 major concussions in a row you might loose your edge too. Why do you think Jr. is donating his brain to science? Jr. had as much skill as his father did. The only difference is Sr. Never suffered major injuries until late in his career. Jr. took three successive brain injuries in a row in less than three years. Not making excuses but he took some hard hits before Hans & soft walls were a reality. Ditto for Gordon. Years of getting into hellacious crashes took their toll and even though he was still relatively young he just wasn’t competitive anymore. Go out and smash your head against a brick wall a few times and tell how sharp you are.
If joe "ran over elliot" he woulda wrecked, elliot didnt wreck. Had park not let up so early in the turn, joe prolly woulda rode his tail, got him loose but to say he can dish but cant take it is ill informed. It's the all-star race, mano-e-mano toe to toe, its hard intense racing. Emotions run high and things happen. Joe even manned up and said he let his emotions get the best of him, hes gotta get respect for that. Wanna see someone get "run over"? Watch stewart on martin in this race.
Bad because i always like Joe before this, I always thought he should have taken an ass wooping for that, it's one thing wrecking someone but trying to kill them is completely different, you don't punt someone entering a corner at 190mph without the intent to hurt them,
Dude, watch the clip close. He didnt run over elliot. He got up very close behind him, got him very loose and elliot had to back out thats why he lost so much time and spots. What park did to nemecheck is the definition of running over a guy. Did park deserve to be wrecked, thats debateable, but joe retaliating was warranted in my view. Like joe said he was coming like a bat outta hell and park let up earlier than joe was expecting and when he did you saw what happened.
Mark Martin is truly the classiest driver ever and Tony Stewart should be in JAIL. PERIODt! This is one of the best victory lane celebrations of all time. Actually, I'm going to just say it's the best.
I would sell my soul to have these days back
+1
I would suck 1000 dicks to have these days back
TrueTallicaFan0343 butt you’d do that for free too 😂
@@RC.41 😅
That can be arranged.

If only coverage these days were as simple as it was, boring races wouldn't matter
Yes... I can't stand it when they talk without pause when there is literally nothing happening in terms of racing. Just make it comfy to watch, like they did back in the day.
LOOK AT THE STANDS 😍🥰❤️💙💚🧡💛💜❣️💕 It was so great!!!!!!
This was the night that the bridge fell down over Highway 29 right outside of the speedway after the race ended. I was there and remember seeing it. We didn’t get out of the parking lot leaving the race until almost 3 AM that morning.
The only thing better than hearing Eli Gold call a NASCAR race is hearing Eli Gold yell Touchdown Alabama
No doubt
If you dale that was a look and smiles from a proud dad. Lord knows I and many miss that man.
You can't beat Eli Gold's announcing a race--I'd like to hear him every week!
Look at how young Junior and Tony look--because they were. Hard to believe that was 2000!
Ward Burton ran one of my all time favorite paint jobs in this race. I even went out and bought the diecast. 1:64 scale obviously.
I really miss the way Charlotte Motor Speedway used to look like before 2005. :'(
I want these moments again
:( getting old sucks
Tell me about. I picked up a bag of cement today, and tore my pants!
The 2000 racing season is probably safe to say the best year NASCAR has ever enjoyed.

Matt Kenseth won Rookie of the Year
That’s all true except Matt Kenseth won ROTY over Jr. Just like people forget Newman beat Johnson for ROTY a couple years later
your right Kenseth had a better points year
But sorry to say this actually it was a dark time for Nascar first losing Adam Petty and Kenny Irwin Jr and then it transistioned into Febuary the following year when we lost Dale Earnhardt
I am convinced that Eli Gold’s favorite thing to say is “The Winston”
RIP, Buddy Baker :/

Go get drunk then! Lol.
Peyton Manning said that after the NFC Championship, too.

I feel the same as you. It depresses me how bad it is now. Nothing will change until the people in charge are replaced
God finally this one is up on yt. thx thx thx bro, this is so very neat. such a pleasure, this is gonna give me tears, especially victory lane ;)
It's only fitting Tony got wiped out after deliberately taking out Mark Martin earlier in the race.
That and messing around with the intimidator himself
Funny how everyone on the track has the upmost respect for mark except for the biggest narcissist tony stewart. He didn't respect anyone! He was always a chump
I think about that everytime I think about this race. Still my personal all-time favorite Winston/All Star Race in all the years NASCAR has had it
Thank you SO much for this! Didn`t think this would ever get on UA-cam! :D
I remember back then everyone hated Gordon. Nowadays besides Jr and maybe Stewart, Gordon is one of the old dogs that I still try to hold onto to keep memories when NASCAR was fun to watch.
Miss these days. Seems like another lifetime ago now. Just look at the stands alone. Don’t see it packed like that now.
YEAH!!! The Peter Max car!!!
Wow throughout all the segments Jr had the best car all night long
Only year both Earnhardts were in the Winston together
During that third segment, I wanna start third. Why? "I can intimidate better than I can on the outside. lol
Yes it did happen....happened 10 seconds before I was to go across it. Helped people as much as we could.
The racing was so much better back then. The drivers were so much more relatable. The Broadcast was even better. They did such a good job of make good every move a big deal and the whole event a big deal.
Music at 1:17:55 is the same that the Red Shirts Security had in TNA in 2003.
I've been lookin' for this!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for uploadin'.
Thank you and your welcome haha. Tony stewart being young tony stewart, and I forgot that Joe was delivering payback when he wrecked Park.
Except Park basically had someone pushing him into Joe..
And Joe was talking like Parks car was trash.. It was just as fast if not faster
Joe just steam rolled him because he was ticked and wasted a lot of other good cars & his own
I have the 1997 Winston from Speedvision.
J Star Then upload that shit!
2:40:15, Mark is being too polite there, Tony got pissed in just one of his anger fits and wrecked Mark intentionally. Wonder how his anger management classes are going.
Miss the #8 Budweiser Chevrolet
3:33 Dick Berggren Mentioned a Tagalog word "Tilapia"
Back when NASCAR announcers acknowledged the boos
Mark is such a class act
That with Park and Nemecheck looks like when Ricky Rudd wreck Jeff Gordon in 1994
Now THAT was a MF’ing race! The way the all star race should be!
steve park was soooo good this race, shame he had to wreck out. but hey, 1 dei car for another i guess
Being a Harvick and Park fan, I had my reasons to strongly dislike Joe Nemechek. His kid kinda races like him to be honest too. Incredible.
I love the all star race
Buddy Baker was incredible
What is it about certain guys that makes them have so many huge accidents? Steve Park may be the best example but there's Ernie Irvan and Neil Bonnett too
Don't forget Ryan Newman who always seems to go airbourne at Talladega and Daytona
Anthony Stuart mike skinner too
Anthony Stuart Danica gets an honorable mention on this list
Awesome!!!!! Thank you!!!!!
miss eli gold no body like him.
Great Race!
what i have a problem with is joe ran right over bill elliott right before steve ran over him soo obvloulsy joe can dish it out but cant take it
@88Doka It was.
it's the race to the may 20th ?
good times...the 1999 race was better for me (i missed this one) but still the whole concept was great....winston wasnt afraid to offer big money
Originally Dale Jr. wanted to race in the Open.
Man that was a huge crash in the last segment, hopefully Nemechek was fined heavily for that bullshit. You don't do that at these speeds going into the corners. Park could've been badly injured
Definitely
+Cj Buford >Park could've been badly injured
Story of Steve Park's life right there.
Park = Neil Bonnett. Moments of greatness but constant bad luck and severely injured
nadeau is my favorite driver
Danny Willis you're the only one.
@@Rock7132 wrong
Ah...back when Jr. had us fooled that he was greatness in the making :)
Still think that?
I think if his father never passed away and DEI didn't fall apart, I think Jr. could have been something special.
Josh Hamilton Jr is greatness, he is the definition of grace under pressure, always has been, and of resiliency. His greatness doesn't lie where his father's did, it lies in the person his father raised him to be.

Joe Nemecheck is an idiot.
2:50:56 OHHHHHHHHHH PAYBACK!!!
C'mon, guys. It's very good cloistered basket What's your opinion about 1!
Back when it was still real
Joe Nemecheck was totally wrong for taking out Steve park !
I guess you have to be Southern to understand what Sr. said, cause I got no clue outside of a couple words here and there what he said. 😂
@Mark Saska Earnhardt, Jr actually lost rookie of the year to Matt Kenseth. Still a great season for NASCAR though (other than the Daytona 500)
Way to get back at your team for not making it to your party Dale Jr, then you reward them with a Winston victory lol
Looks like he had a case of "Vickernism".
yess
I have to say that hit Mark Martin took looked eerily like Dale Earnhardt's hit that killed him. :(
Also Adam Petty and Kenny Irwin Jr died in this year
Plus execpt the Crash happen on the backstrech and not in Turn 4
WE CAME TO TAKE ALL THE MONEY!!!!!!
Bad because i always like Joe before this, I always thought he should have taken an ass wooping for that, it's one thing wrecking someone but trying to kill them is completely different, you don't punt someone entering a corner at 190mph without the intent to hurt them,

I know this got nothing to do with the race but is it to late to win the sweepstakes for getting a new Dodge Ram 😂😂

Matt Kenseth won rookie of the year noob.
