    Hi Alec, only been fly tying for a couple of months but tied a few of these up and had one of my best sessions ever with seven to the net in a couple of hours fished with a slow figure of 8. Thanks 👍

      That's great Stevie , they will get even more productive as the winter months set in . They are deadly fished slow or static under an indicator 👍🎣🐟

    Great fly mate , tied a few up and used them on two local waters on two very hard days and caught on both occasions. Used a chartreuse bead and a yellow sharpie for the back.👍👍👍

      Nice one Alan, they are fishing well, only if the water gets dirty they become less effective, thanks for the feed back 👍🎣🐟

      @@alecharveyfishingandflytying Thanks for the heads up mate. I have also tied some up in neon red with a red head and a white version. Will let you know if they are world beaters. Thanks again for a winner of a fly.👍👍👍

    Hi, I’ve had some success tying these as a balanced fly on a jig hook with extended front bead on half a pin. A little experimental tie to get balance right then fished under a bung. You have to remember that the fly hangs “ upside” so colour the opposite side of the fly

      Yes Alan, I also fish balanced leeches, this pattern will definitely work done the balanced way 👍🎣🐟

    That looks a guaranteed fish catcher. Will tie up a couple before my next outing.

      Cheers Len, it definitely is a fish catcher that's for sure, just done some video footage today of my pal Ken having a great day at Thrunton long crag using it under the indicator, fish, fish, fish 👍🎣🐟🐟🐟

    Hi Alec what's the size of the bead and the make of the permanent marker pen

      @alecharveyfishingandflytying  2 роки тому +2

      Hi Don, you can use yellow brass beads 3.5mm or 3.8mm depending on how fast you want them to sink, the best permanent marker pens which seem to be the best are copic ones from hobby shops, the colour last lon

      Cheers Mark, I normally use a 3.8mm brass, but you can use a tungsten smaller one if you want to 👍🎣🐟

    Hi Alec. What is the shade of the Copic marker. It will probably have a code on it starting with YR?

    • @alecharveyfishingandflytying
      @alecharveyfishingandflytying  2 роки тому

      The OHUHU art marker number 24 gives a great colour for the top of the fly, it gives the material a mustard look 👍🎣🐟
