MI BOX 4K SPECIFICATIONS AND CONNECTIVITY
As the name suggests, the Mi Box 4K has the ability to stream in 4K. It supports HDR 10 but does not support Dolby Vision. It supports Dolby Audio and DTS but not Dolby Atmos. It has a 64-bit 2.0Ghz CPU, Mali 450 GPU at 750MHz, 2GB DDR 3 RAM, and 8GB eMMC storage. It has a compact form factor and all the connectivity options are at the back. You have an HDMI 2.0b port to connect to your TV, a USB 2.0 port, and a 3.5mm audio port. The device also comes with a remote control which is a lot like the MI TV remote control. It has a power button, a dedicated button to bring up the Google Assistant, navigation, and hotkeys for Netflix and Prime Videos and also volume controls. The device runs on the Android TV platform. It also has access to the Google Play Store.
IF THE MI BOX 4K RUNS ON ANDROID, DOES IT ALSO HAVE PATCHWALL?
No, the Mi Box 4K does not have PatchWall like Xiaomi’s TVs. Xiaomi says that PatchWall is for those new to a Smart TV experience and the UI handholds consumers into getting used to the smart TV experience. However, the Mi Box 4K is aimed at those that are looking to enhance their smart TV experience or upgrade their old TV to a newer smart TV experience. It does, however, bring with it all the goodness of Android TV including access to the Google Play Store and the Google Assistant. With the Google Assistant, you can control your smart home appliances as well.
DOES THE MI BOX 4K HAVE HDMI 2.1 FOR EARC?
No, the Mi Box 4K has HDMI 2.0b. With this, you can expect to get a 4K HDR output from the system. You will not get eARC as that is an HDMI 2.1 standard. You get Dolby Audio and DTS support from the box.
DOES THE MI BOX 4K SUPPORT HDR?
Yes. The Mi Box 4K supports HDR 10. It does not support Dolby Vision.
DOES THE MI BOX 4K SUPPORT DOLBY ATMOS?
No. It supports Dolby Audio and DTS but not Dolby Atmos.

Hi, i had been using the Airtel Xstream box. But i switched to MI box 4k, due to the monthly airtel fee.
I one difference i noticed is the sound, Xstream box did have a great Dolby digital sound which i miss here.

I have two problems interrelated.
1. I connect normal 3.5 jack earphones to mi box but both tv and earphones gives audio output.
2. I paired the boat airpods 201 series with mi box. The videos are not playing even in youtube with low quality. When the airpods are unpaired then the video are back alive.

its a 4k box yes , but at 4k resolution it lags a bit , so if you put at 1080p it will give a great performance lag free thats sucks that its not so smooth at 4k but its worth this box

I bought this box to stream 4k videos on netflix. But unfortunately i couldnt see HDR label on tv. Is there any problem with the box. Its really frustrates that netflix call center told me this device not compatible to play uhd videos. P.S i have the netflix uhd plan. What is the reason i unable to play uhd videos.
What TV are you using? Does it have the ability to switch between HDMI 1.4 and 2.0? Maybe you can check these settings.
@@Digit yes its tcl 4k tv supports hdmi 2.0 and 1.4 both its have hdmi arc and hdmi mhl too...but netflix support team says mi box is not supported uhd streaming yet. So what settings you preffered to achive uhd streaming.

By default the frame rate is set at 30 hz. Change it to 60 hz and it should be very smooth

This was a really bad voice-over IMO. Probably you know that as well. However i got what i was looking for the HDR on netflix. Thanks anyway. Generally your channel does cover the in depth tech stuff that other channel does not. however you didn't mention the hdmi port's version ETC.

How is the WiFi reception at 5Ghz & 2.4Ghz bandwidth.. Device seems to have problem getting 5Ghz (200mbps) even the router is near it.. downscaling the video content and delay loading apps. It is better in 2.4Ghz (40mbps) but 4k contents have some stutters... I don't think it is not playing 4k contents in Netflix and Amazon.. its just 1080p HD, but playing 4k contents from UA-cam with stutters as I told.. device is heating like anything.

We faced issues with 5GHz performance. The mi box has known issues with 5GHz bandhwidth performance.
