Thanks for your informative review. I too have a Mi TV 4 55" and have been struggling to play Hotstar VIP / Premium content. Neither Mi nor Hotstar has been able to resolve the issue. Kindly let me know whether Mi Box is suitable / compatible for Mi TV 4 55 and how to get Rs 1000.00 discount as there is no mention on Mi website/app. I too feel that this discount amount is too less for loyal customer like me, who purchased the first Mi TV launched and helped Mi to establish as a TV brand in India. In patchwall on regular Smart TVs, even content from your set top box is displayed and it can seamlessly show that content using set top box instead of blowing up our internet data. Anything similar can be achieved with this? I mean to ask, is there a way to route or connect your set top box to Mi box? In that way, you can watch both your cable and internet content seamlessly?

The problem with this device is there is support stream set box content, so you don't have to switch between HDMI all the time. If there was an option to put HDMI output from setup box and just navigate within the interface it would been nice

No, this has Android TV not Mi UI. Like stock android but for TV. However installed apps will promote their own content on the homescreen. You can disable that.

I am using this on my old samsung LCD TV everything is good but for some reason the brightness is very low and even though I have the brightness at 100 on my TV its still low on Mi TV box. I have both OS wise Firestick is better and is more polished than Android TV. Provides better search results for content. Easier for side loading apps. Costs more 500MB less RAM, No chromecast and no USB port. MiBox 4K has chromecast and is cheaper. Has a USB port and 2GB RAM. Even with the extra RAM all apps are reloaded every time so no real advantage with the extra RAM. Mi is lying about CPU specs.

id go with the fire tv , altho it is slower than the mi tv stick , it has a more refined user experience and the remote feels nicer

There's only one HDMI out bro and that would be connected to your TV - now if you split the sound from there through to DD 5.1 you can do that
