I recently finished the game this year, 2024 (yes, I finished the game a few days later, after New Year's Eve). Honestly, I found Sleeping Dogs very fun, and the story is very damn interesting too. I would highly recommend people playing Sleeping Dogs, and I wish they had a sequel for the game because it deserves one.

Just started playing this again and i missed it so much one of the coolest open world games wish there were more like this
I didn't play it, until it was a free download on the xbox 360... since then I have played through it 6 or 7 times. It's so good. The stories pace, the random side quests. It was purpose built, and you can tell. It feels like you're playing a movie. If you're watching this video, and haven't played this game...you need to go play this classic.
A sequel would’ve been so cool… I wouldn’t mind them turning this into a series
I feel like these days, unless you get incredibly lucky, you won't find anyone willing to create a sequel that encapsulates the spirit of the original. Especially with how hard China seems to be on portrayals of its region's culture.
I really loved this game, might even prefer this game over GTA 5 due to the unique features like environmental attacks, car hijacking from one car to another, way better combat because of the martial arts. The storyline of this game is really unique too as the protagonist being an undercover cop, that basically do missions for both the Narcotics and Triads. Just growing up I really loved this game and this will always be an underrated one

Man this feels longer than 2012. I remember getting motorcycles to drive into oncoming traffic to ramp cars over the overhead street signs on the interstate.
The kung foo school master was the best, funniest character who shit talked you the entire lessons.

Beat the original back on 360, but just grabbed the Definitive Edition for like $6-8 on sale and am instantly glued to it all over again. This is still holds up with some of the best combat in any game.
The graphics are alright for an 11 year old game, as you mentioned. But what really makes this game shine is the story. I won’t spoil anything, but the more you progress, the better it gets. You really feel like a member of a triad, living in luxury and surrounded by violence and betrayal.

For real. I played this game at 6 years old and obviously didn’t understand the story. Even at that I was saddened by the death of you-know-who and the wedding. As I got older the game only got better. The story is so emotionally investing and the characters feel like they have a real brotherhood and real lives, families, and aspirations. Minor Spoiler:
Even the little details like Jackie feeling sick and disturbed when he kills a guy for the first time. So much so that he talks about it for multiple missions, questions if this is the life for him, and considers dropping the life altogether and just staying with Jiu Mei. I love this game dawg. Happy this was one of my firsts. 😭

It doesn't look any worse than Ubisoft games of that time. Installing this game simply to go on a stroll in the Night Market is the mood 🔥 it was my fav game of all time in 2015 just because of this

I played this on PS3, and enjoyed it. Then I played it on PS4 and loved it. Plan to buy it for the PS5 too. It's a beautiful game.

this game has one of the best fighting system , i love the way wei counters the enemy attack , the other martial arts beyond wei original one like mma , muaythai , drunken and my most fav is the wingchun one , i really want wei to use more move from wingchun , one day i hope there is a game that base on wingchun one of my most fav martial art
this game is the whole package. great combat, so many fun things to do on the side, voice acting had me at the edge of my seat, and never once did the story feel lacking, graphics were incredible at that time too. not to mention just how much detail is put into the surroundings and NPCs alike
i never got to finish it years back bc my 360 would always give up on me mid missions but i recently got around to picking up the ps5 and it was the first game i bought on it. it’s still as exhilarating as when i first had my hands on it as a kid 😭 sucks to know that the game didn’t end up doing as good as they hoped for. endlessly dreaming of a sequel!

It's kinda sad how underrated gems like this get overshadowed just because people perceived it as "GTA but" or a GTA Clone. It had the one of the best open world combat and the city is lively. Wished we could've see more asian cities like Seoul and Tokyo.

Sleeping Dogs was one of my first games on the PS3 near the end of that era of gaming. I still have the console AND game. Currently playing through the campaign. Back when United Front was a thing, they f**king KILLED it with SD.

Of all of the Shadow of Assassin's Arkham Dogs games, Sleeping Dogs is still the best if the genre.
I played it the third time end of 2023 and I still had a absolute blast with it. I can't believe that a so old game has a bigger fun package than a lot of the now released games. It was excellent in every aspect. Gameplay Immersion Story Characters, just pure fun. And the graphics are still absolutely fine and are the proof gameplay over graphics.
I used to play on my ps3 and last week I tried to play it on my ps4 and bought a copy 2nd hand but the disc was dodgy and I was so disappointed

just checked my steam (last played sept 25, 2013). I dont even remember where I lived playing this but I think I got the game for free when I bought my AMD GPU. I never beat this game but I remember playing it and enjoying it.
Im so close to the plat on ps3 just the pesky level 10 triad points which is taking a loooong time but i still love this experience so much

I just bought this game for the first time today it was on sale for 24 hrs from 30$ to 4$.. i thought why not, i had seen and heard a lot of good things but didnt give it a chance.... i regret not then buying and playing it, but i also love that i am now cuz as old as it is, its a BLAST!!! i do dislike how slow the camera is, and the camer angles on the car can be really screwed up.. but other then that, im having more fun then GTA V.. its an old game and it lost is fire about 2 years after it was released

I was very disapointed with GTA V, this game filled the gape perfectly. Still an amazing open world game. Arkham like combat, some parkour really good story. It deserves to have a sequel.

the outfit is not just a skin, you get the weapons or skills or different stats that reflect the person you dressing up as
i remember being 8yrs old sneaking in my parents room to get my dads xbox 360 and play this late at night i wasnt allowed to play 18+ games at the time so i had to create new save and delete it after i played i use to run around and fight everyone memories sad to see it didnt get another game
Actually picked this game up for the first time about 3 weeks ago. I played through it with nearly 100% completion since.
I was very pleasantly surprised by the graphics. Gunplay kind of sucked in my opinion but it more than made up for it with the melee.
I was very sad when I got the in-game notification that I had completed 50% of the game. Honestly wish the story was at least twice as long as it was because it really pulled me in.

Played this game back in 2012 when it was released. I have completed it a couple of times again since then. I can definitely say that this is one of the greatest open world games ever made. It is amazing from so many aspects! Unfortunately the studio that made the game shut down so SD2 is most likely canned for good. They started SD2, but then their publisher demanded that they stop and try to make a Sleeping Dogs MMO. That bankrupted the studio... :(

I dont think a lot of peope know this...and it wasnt mentioned in this video! But I love how you can dive out of any car as your driving it and then shoot it as your sliding on the ground to make it explode! Fricken sweet game mechanic man....why does no other game have this!
