Teachers are underpaid in the US. In my country being a teacher is one of the best-paying jobs. The teachers are also educated on psychology so they can determine if a student suffers from depression or is being bullied. And if they do we have psychologists at schools that can help the students for free. In the US they just put police in school and give guns to teachers...

PhoenixVG this is what baffles me about Americans. Every time someone is unjustly killed by police - black or white - you find people tripping over themselves to justify it. “He had a conviction for violent crime”, “there was weed in his car”, “he robbed a gas station once”. But the thing is, none of these things are capital offences! None of these things warrant the death penalty - EVEN after a fair trial represented by an attorney and judged by a jury of peers.
So why do people find it acceptable that police can kill someone in the street - but hey it’s okay, he got a DUI 10 years back, he was no saint so it’s cool that he died ?
The issue here is the wanton police violence against the citizens they’re sworn to protect, and the lack of accountability thereafter. Whether they killed an innocent grandmother who never committed a crime in her life, or a hardened criminal with a past of drug use. The issue is that police cannot just execute someone in the streets like a dog- but they keep doing so. And people keep scrambling to find ways to justify it.

What a belittling and cynical comment. There are loads of good teachers, but the system often fails them and students alike. You can blame that on systemic racism: property tax-based revenue streams that underfund some neighborhoods. And blame it on Republican efforts to undermine schools with budget cuts and voucher programs that generally benefit wealthier families.

The real reason the majority of us are protesting is because George was an every man. Meaning he was just an average everyday person. What Happened to him could have happened to any one of us. Police brutality needs to stop. Not just for black people, but for everyone in the nation. We need police reform. We need every death by an officer to be heavily investigated. This gave me chills. Every child has hopes and dreams. Society should aid in making these aspirations come true rather than hinder and prevent. All children no matter their color or wealth of their family should have the right to pursue their dreams. It benefits all of society to have its people rise up than to be beaten down.
