Love Tesla and Brian what a great interview
I been listening for days thx for occupying my 10 hour work days.
What a band!!! I’m 50, and Tesla has been my favorite band since I was 16. I’ve seen them three times and met them on their reunion tour in OKC. Those guys hung out at the buses with a bunch of us fans for at least an hour. Super down to earth rock band.
I remember being at the South Texas Rock Fest in San Antonio Texas. Tesla and a bunch of other great bands were playing for a 3 day stretch. Tesla was Great like always.
Wow, excellent interview, both Jason & Brian. I have been a Tesla fan since day one, Modern Day Cowboy on MTV and seeing them open for Def Leppard (where the whole band came out on main floor to watch Def Lep after they played their set). Since then, I've seen Tesla over 50+ times in almost every incarnation, including the first time they played as a 4 piece in Detroit (unfortunate Tommy situation) and also the 5 Man Acoustical Jam in Detroit (Ritz in Roseville).
I'd love to see the Vegas residency, especially the Mechanical Resonance night!
I couldn't agree more about a final go-around. 2 drummers, 3 guitarists, when the time comes BRING IT BOYS!!!!
I hope someday that Jason will interview 70s glam rock and power pop icon Ian Lloyd ("Brother Louie" band Stories lead singer, who also sang backup on Foreigner's ultra successful 1981 multiplatinum album "Foreigner 4.") Legendary glam metal producers Bruce Fairbairn (R.I.P.,) Beau Hill and Bob Rock guested on the only album released by Ian's mid 80s project Fast Forward. Jim Vallance also was a guest musician on the album. Does it really have to be just glam metal musicians featured on this channel? Stories 1973 album "About Us" is an underrated 70s glam rock/power pop classic.

Brian’s f*** off demeanor really resonates well with the majority of the regular everyday people of the Tesla fan base. I definitely can read between the lines why he left the state of California to Texas then to upstate rural New York. Of course Brian’s personality of cutting through the bs caused rifts within with Tommy, but his dominant presence as a founding member embodies the no frills straightforwardness that the band represents
I was going to say they wrote song & emotion about Steve Clark they would not be there today without Steve Clark.

Greatest guyz you'd ever meet! JK still sounds Awesome! Brian Wheat has great sound & style. Dave Rude has been an awesome fill in for Tommy! ( can't replace Tommy ). The whole band Is fantastic! I was really into the show last time I saw them with Styx & JK noticed my enthusiasm and spent alot of time on my side of the Stage, looking at me signing while he was signing, that's how much they appreciate the fans! Thank you JK! I'll never forget it!

Tesla is a dynamite rock band; so underrated it's definitely a crime with majority of mainstream rock fans. Love all their material and look forward to the Vegas show
Never really thought of Tesla as glam metal. Just a great old fashioned southern-tinged hard rock band.
I actually saw TESLA first when they opened for David Lee Roth....Andy Taylor was supposed to open but he canceled ....henceforth Tesla opened....I think the only song that was released at that point was Modern Day Cowboy....nobody knew who they were but they came and KICKED ASS!!!!!
That Tesla/Poison concert @ Nassau Coliseum was the 1st concert I ever attended.

Great interview! I saw Tesla open for Def Leppard on the Hysteria Tour in 1987 in Milwaukee, WI. One of my first big concerts and it was Awesome! Also I was standing next to Tommy Skeoch on the MORC when Eddie Trunk asked him to come over and get on the air with Brian Wheat. I told Tommy "go for it" and it worked out. It was good to see them talking.
One of my favorite bands - Tesla. I’ve been a fan since the day I picked up Mechanical Resonance back in ‘87. I’ve seen them live 4 times and enjoyed every show. Great band, great songs, and stayed true to their original sound …until their last album, in my opinion. On another note… Brian has always come across as a bit pretentious and seems to suffer from an inferiority complex. Seems to have a big chip in his shoulder. Give it a rest and enjoy life because it’s not becoming.
This was a surprisingly good interview. I had seen another interview last year where Brian’s answers were all, “yeah”… “no”…, and it seemed like it was the last place he wanted to be. Who knows? Maybe he was having a bad day that day.
Mechanical Resonance is a solid record start to finish. It was a unique record for the time from the album cover to the band’s faceless, jeans and t-shirt image. Every other band in that genre were following each other’s pattern to (hopeful) success. It’s a shame MR wasn’t one of those few massive sellers. They were on a supportive label and had the best management team, yet could never get over that hump.

The video for love song if you were in Junior high high school back when it popped off on MTV you witnessed something that really felt good the one thing they did that really fucking hit you and stuck with you for your life was that video and song. Also the five Man acoustical jam CD was great

I met Brian and another member of Tesla during the Def Leppard Hysteria tour 1988 in Bloomington, MN. 3 sold out nights at the Met Center.
They were staying at the same hotel as me and my friends. We were getting our delivery pizza’s when they were.
I did see Tesla many times prior to the Def Leppard show. White Lion was the other awesome show opener in the mid-late 80’s.
Great interview. I wasn't aware Troy had left. Did COVID scare him from touring. ?Maybe the touring just became too much of a unpleasant hassle to him.
