oh man. so me and my friends ran into nicky after a show in denmark and since I brought nothing to get signed but my own arm I joked about getting his autograph tattooed. one of them repeated the joke after he'd signed it and he heard and said I'd regret it haha. never did get it tattooed, probably will get something manics related at some point though.
I have Under Neon Lonliness, Motorcycle Emptiness in 2 inch lettering on my back. Not because I'm a Manics fan (I am tho) but because the line struck something deep inside me and as soon as I heard the words I knew right away they meant something profound to me that I was gonna get them tattooed on me.
Cool mate, if it’s personal to you, all the more special and meaningful!! I was intending to get From Despair to Where done with a rose like richeys one, soon as I get the courage and money ha I was thinking design for life because a tattoo is a design for life at the end of the day 😂 But I thought that would detract from the message of the song with the tattoo , so I settled on From Despair To Where because I like the lyric. Shallow piece of dignity I love too 😃 ha nickys right, there’s so many manics lyrics 😂
Saw him at the festival he was talking about at the end (Victorious Festival) last weekend. Glad to report The Manic’s were fucking class…and no pulled hamstrings lol
I got To repel ghosts and a cactus with a balloon tied to it on my hip the day before my first in person, face to face exam of med school for which i was waaaaaaay underprepared, and i still somehow passed with flying colors. It also kinda makes me laugh remembering how much the manics themselves dislike Lifeblood and how unmanic-y the font of the text and the style of the drawing are. I got into a GIGANTIC, all consuming manics phase when i first discovered them, i was 21 and into my first year of med school, living on my own for the first time, in a new city. I was struggling a lot and i clung to them for dear life, and every time i listen to their songs now it feels like a little home I've built within myself. I'm just glad they came together as musicians and i was lucky enough to find them.
Great comment. I hope you are doing well. I assume from the spelling of colors that you are in America. I live in the UK and have been a Manics fan since 1992. They have been truly inspirational across their career with all of their brilliant albums and singles. Their lyrics, authenticity, political outlook, deep reverence for the music that has influenced them, resilience in the face of adversity, and passion are just some of the reasons why they have endured and flourished nearly forty years. Not all fans agree, of course, but I think they have got even better as they have evolved across the decades, and always look forward to a new album. Here's to the next in 2025!
Nice that Nicky didn’t take the bait (he loves his fans) when the host suggest some fans may not even know the meaning behind the lyrics. What a jerk that guy is and nice that Nicky brushed it off.
We want to know if you’ve got a Manics tattoo OR maybe you’ve got another band's lyrics tattooed on you?
I do.
Type O Negative logo and lyrics.
Freddie Mercury tattoo and lyrics.
AIC lyrics. And The G'n'R logo.
I’ve got the useless generation tattoo on my hip… the rose is stylized a bit different, softer edges
@@BrookeEvangelineWinter Quite the collection!

No, but they are the most important people in my life. No bs
I’ve become so accustomed to seeing Nicky wear sunglasses that I felt a shock when he not only suddenly took them off but also kept them off! 😅
I never realised Nicky had such amazing blue eyes. The sunglasses are hiding a pair of gems!
He always reminds me of like a mix of Stephen merchant and Cillian Murphy.. anyone else or am I just a weirdo lol

Nikolai Wireski, to use his full Polish name, is rarely seen without his sunglasses its true
Nicky is a genius but not feeling the beard! I love him though 😉

Resistance is Futile > Ultra Vivid Lament. As far as right now anyway (always subject to change) 😂
Middle-aged men with dyed hair always crack me up.
Conveniently glossing over the racist lyrics of his early material
