The catalog part is sooo true - I finally got smart this year and just ask all my family to send me an Amazon wish list. It made Christmas shopping sooooo easy!!! Why didn't I think of this earlier!

My husband's family refuses to do that and then always acts slightly disappointed with the gifts and its just too expensive. So we just put our foot down this year and said we will not be doing Christmas. The Amazon wishlist is 1000% the way to go if your family will cooperate!

Please be glad you have all of those people. I literally have nowhere to go for Christmas festivities…except to my politically opposite parents-in-law. My very vocal parents-in-law who like to “poke the bear.” No work parties, no friend parties (only a couple of friends who live hours/states away), both my parents have passed and I’m an only child. You’re very blessed.

There almost needs to be a song about the “experience” of getting a Christmas tree! Putting the tree up (I.e. in the actual stand) after getting it home, is actually the most stressful and crazy part of Christmas for my family at least!! 😂 No idea why, it just has always been that way? Love love love this song though, it’s gonna be on repeat I can feel it already 😍 Great job!!
There’s a funny parody of the 12 days of Christmas called the 12 pains of Christmas that just makes fun of so many Christmas things.
Yes I use to get my husband and son to come help pick out the tree. That was not fun because they don’t care. So now I go buy it and my husband comes and picks it up. But then we have to do the stand thing and there is lots of cursing involved. Makes a great start to the Christmas season. 🤣
We’re still haunted by the year our tree fell over twice (or was it three times-I’ve suppressed the details). We got to do the putting the tree in the stand thing a few times. Good times.

I love the compilation! For me I enjoy a quiet Christmas. This year my wife's family will be at a cabin in the mountains, and I get to babysit the fur babies. It will be quiet, the cats will sleep and the dog and I will play outside. I wish a peaceful Christmas to you all.

Absolutely marvelous, Nice to hear all of these really Jewish songs once or twice. For Hannukah, this year, it coincided with Thanksgiving, so the family was there, but @#$%, we forgot to light the candles. Everyone was in a food coma, including our daughter's boyfriend, a DOCTOR I'll have you know.
Penn -- How about a Passover video this year, one in which the Holdernesses are guests of a Jewish family, but have no idea what is going on. And Penn tries the Bitter Herb (horseradish) and has to run to the kitchen for a glass of wine.
And then he discovers that the kids put real wine in their four glasses of grape juice and are giggling all over the place.
And the whole family wants the brisket recipe, only the two grandmas won't share it.
As an expert in modern Jewish practices (a family friend, by the way, was Harry Golden of the Carolina Israelite). and a former comedian, I hereby volunteer.

All my family lives in the same state and I transferred south for warmer winters. This means I'm the stress-free part of the family! I am not part of the drama and expectations that everyone else deals with! I highly recommend it!

I had a tall handsome guy I dated and he gave me a set of wrenches unwrapped as my Christmas present whereas I had a mountain of wrapped ingenious appropriate presents for him and his twin 3-year-olds! So I did what any self-respecting gift-giving receiving holiday lover would do, I closed him on the first vacation we ever had and the first vacation he'd had in 10 years in Aruba and we were there within a week on his dime lol!

Yeah like single childless folks with no/few meaningful family holiday options...
Not only do I tell my husband what I would like for Christmas, but I also draw him a map to the Chanel counter. For some reason, it seems to make a difference that he went into the maddening crowds and fought his way through to buy me a present.
About 30 years ago I bought my husband a wet vac for Christmas and put it under the tree. Lo and behold, an identically shaped box soon appeared right next to it. Yes, he had bought me a wet vac for his shop. Hard to believe. That’s all I got that year. Now I sock it to him throughout the year and buy what I like.
There are 11 of us that are going to lovingly cram into my mom's 3 bed, 1 1/2 bath home for Christmas this year. And it will be AWESOME (plus a 12th person who has decided to stay in a hotel). We live outside of the US, so are flying in for a week a couple days before Christmas. Some of our relatives we haven't seen in person since Christmas, 2016. There will be SO MUCH togetherness time! That sounds like a lot, but I'm actually pretty excited about it. Just wish our winter break was longer -- we get back home and then the teachers have to be back at school a couple days later. So what I'm REALLY lamenting isn't all the togetherness, but a shortened Christmas break.

I relate way too much to the part about having to go to so many parties because people are divorced. My husband's parents are divorced, so on top of going to the party for the whole family, which they both come to btw, they each want us to come to theirs, too.
