- I think NWT missed the mark making this non playable. Sorry, but that's just my opinion. Let me know your thoughts in the comments, prove to me I'm missing out.

🤣😅😂
I agree with your take. I love Black Hole real world pinball. However the NWT being unplayable kills it for me, despite the nostalgia I have for it.
Ikr, it's disappointing because their other 1/6 scale machines are playable. And yes, the actual Black Hole table is fun and quite hard to come by these days
Shilo did say this was a way to enter the market for NWT. Maybe they will make later releases function like a pinball machine. I thought they would have made it function in some way. Always appreciate your take Pat!
I did watch some of Glen's stream today and I DO appreciate what they are trying to do but I stand by what I said... I think they missed the mark and it's def not for me. I didn't mean to harp on anyone who digs this but I gotta be honest. Appreciate the comment Paul
$200 for a replicade is just too expensive in any economy. There’s really no justification unless you’re super obsessed and nostalgic for black hole but in that case you’d probably own the real thing
This is definitely a niche item and I really thought I'd be digging it. But as I said I don't have a place for something like this that I can't actually use... especially at $200
See , Mikey Gets it. But I’d be a sucker for a Foos mini pin that actually played the music. 😂
@@therexershow Make it BT and have a bunch of foos songs I'm in, I promise
Show-Me Retro,
I think the initial shock of this machine put many off. This is the first New Wave Toys game machine that doesn't actually play. I don't begrudge people from skipping on this one. And yes, I have HUGE nostalgia for Black Hole and I pre-ordered mine, but I thought I'd offer a 4th reason someone might one to get this piece. I buy these smaller machines, not really to play, but to enhance if you will, my Home Arcade, in a way where these machines, to me, cause a "trick of the eye" and make it feel like I have more machines in my Home Arcade than there really are. Here's more of my take on that if you got a sec: ua-cam.com/video/9_7kgYH_OHA/v-deo.html
The beauty of niche things is they bring something interesting to the table, even though the gamble might not pay off. I've never seen a product that appeals to all, so it never offends me if someone isn't interested in something I am. So many cool new things about this machine were revealed during tonight's Glen's Retro Show stream, and though I don't think it will change everyone's mind, you may want to check it out. Great to hear your thoughts!

I'm sure you'll enjoy it, and I will def it out. Thanks for the comment VGV
Non playable is a non starter.
Yeah, it should have a secondary function like a USB hub or a controller for epin games. (2 side buttons for flippers and a motion sensor for bumping/tilting)
I think many should watch Glen's interview with Shilo from NWT last night. It's obviously not made a general NWT fan audience. Shilo is considering this to be more of a celebration of art and nostalgia as well as explains the cost difference to that of a playable machine at this scale. I can understand why this may not be for everyone but please don't hassle the ones that wish to purchase and claim they are wasting their money...to each their own. Nobody is going to like everything a company puts out.
I did watch part of the stream, there were some audio issues. I did not mean to come down on anyone wanting this, but I can't lie and say it's amazing. I said it's cool, just not for me and i stick by saying it's a waste of money if you don't fall into the 3 categories. People buy what they like and that's fine but I have to be honest with my opinions
The issue to me with argument that no one plays the 1/6th sale video games is that no one would have bought them if they weren’t playabe regardless. Thats just part of the coolness factor.
Very good point. Regardless of whether you play it or not you can if you want to
I think I'm more disappointed that it's not Disney's The Black Hole because I would've grabbed it for more father-in-law on that property alone.
🤣
I think NWT had a a really good idea here but really missed the mark. What do you think?
I know it’s not for me . But you’re right abkut owninf the real thing would be a reason for someone to buy. I would buy a mini foos 😅
Alright, I might buy a mini Foos...
thx voldemort
It's a fail to the tenth power mate. Bloody paper weight it is.
A paper weight it is Lol
I think when they make a small device like this, the fact that it's playable makes it a conversion piece and is what makes small replicade devices like that awesome. It's not how playable the device is, it's the fact that it's playable at all. Since we can't play this device all the magic and awesome factory are now gone. For me at least I never heard of this pin and have no nostalgia for it.
Good points. I also don't see why it gets the "Replicade" name when the other Replicades that NWT makes are playable
Great video to see you’re still rocking out
You as well my friend
I was with everything you mentioned, until you said it will sell out. No, it will not sell out...they mentioned the edition size is 8000! The negative response has definitely outweighed anything they've made. This will be available on sale in the near future, likely $80-$100. My sense is Glen is in on this and he has encouraged NWT to charge more for their products. NWT has actually struck out with those cigarette machine chargers, bmx bicycles, and now this...they had a skeeball demo and I think that is a major mistake upcoming as well. I don't see NWT having a very good year if this is the only things they have lined up, although they plan on more accessories Shilo said, and understand, I have ALL OF THEIR PRODUCTS, I have been with them since their inception.
Only time will tell I suppose
@@show-me-retro NWT is doing a live with Glen tonight, honestly, it smells of desperation sadly. I'd prefer they just pull it until they are prepared to kill it as they would normally. I think their presale is much lower than they anticipated.
@@show-me-retro One thing that came from that feed with NWT, it actually has a functioning plunger and a BB size ball that launches but is restricted. So it has that, no plunger movement. Shilo seemed surprised he hadn't mentioned that through all the launch...
Anyway, hard pass from me, but that may be enough to persuade others. Lastly, their joint venture with Glen will be revealed next month.
@@RedHorseAdventures That is interesting 🤔
You're right man, its cool, but it needs... something more. A charge bank would work. Just lights and sounds with no moving parts on the playfield, I cant do it
Appreciate the comment and honesty. A foo fighters one with licensed songs I'd be on board with Lol
The simulated game play is even worse to me. Imaginary flippers clacking and balls bouncing 🤔
They can't all be winners. This idea should have stayed just that, an idea.
Yup
I might buy one in October, USB would be nice.
Don't miss out on the 20% off
Not for me either, but i dont think its a miss. Too small to emulate Vpin. Is the price high, maybe. There are a lot of cool desk crap items that are high. Look at the lego console sets. NWT just set an expectation that it would "do" something other than sit there. People paid $600+ for 1ups that barely played. 😂
Good point about 1ups... not into Legos either but at least you can build and take apart then build again LOL. This should not have the Replicade name if it's not playable
I love this table bc it’s one of the best retro pin tables but no! This is ridiculous & pretty sad.
It's not for me
Looks cool playable or not but not for that much money!
I agree
Too much of the rex guy, bring back retro mikey 78!
Rexer is the man
@@show-me-retro please Pat, do a collab with Mikey like old times or bring back Bob Ross!
@nachoman2585 Mike has chosen to step away from the YT for awhile, I'm not sure he'd be up for it
This as a VPIN would look awful, and not at all what NWT stands for. Rexer's comparison of what people play for a Lego set, which doesnt DO anything, was spot on. Do people even realize that a playable 1/6 scale pinball would look, feel, and play horribly. It is pricey, but NWT's established customer base knows that their quality materials/construction/attention to detail comes at a cost and is worth it...if mini arcades are your thing. To discredit w/o seeing a real one or namecall (Barbie arcade) just cause it's not your thing seems uneducated and juvenile imo. They're toys, all of them...1/6, 3/4, whatever scale...TOYS 😁
It doesn't deserve the "Replicade" name like the playable 1/6 scale arcades... sorry to offend but I gotta be honest. I'm not shilling something I think missed the mark
BTW, my switch oled as a vpin looks pretty good
@show-meretro don't doubt it looks OK, my thought is a VPIN option for a NWT product is not in-line with what they're going for. But it could've potentially won over more customer's opinions.
@sonicfun016 My point is, their other Replicades are playable. It's also not the best title to launch a mini pinball. I still think it's a big disappointment, but I honestly hope you enjoy yours
@show-meretro not sure I'm in on this product, but I do respect NWT and appreciate what they do. If it get us all talking, and sometimes respectfully disagreeing, all the better.
If people are buying these things for investments they are doing it wrong.
Any bloke or lass who's purchasing this thing as a investment. Is five cans short of a six pack.
You guys are really missing the point. How would it be playable at that size. Sometimes it’s about the vibe, sounds, and lights. I love it.
Lol, I'm not missing anything brother. I have no use for this. I explained who I think it's for and I'm not that person. I also said I'd take virtual version because I realize how difficult it would be to make it playable at that size.
BTW, explain to me why this is called a Replicade when it's not playable like their arcade replicades and it's not as close a replica as the 1/6 arcades?
crybabies
