Thank you, dealership is charging me 7 hundred to do this 😢. But mine is leaking where the bottom big hose meets the tank , ganna replace the tank hopefully it takes care of it
@@justinstallings7844 i ended up cutting the metal off of the rubber tube n just connecting it with the straight rubber and with screw fasteners, worked like a charm
Very helpful instructions, just finished changing the tank. The only thing I did different was use a drill pump to remove coolant from tank, l couldn't see a good way of capturing the coolant.
Glad I came here before taking it in. Been dealing with this for weeks now been ignoring it but it’s finally time to address the elephant in the room lol
@@joshmacneil3934 it was a pita, but once I figured out how to correctly position the metal clip in its groove it snapped back on easily. if you are having to use force something's not correct.
So just to clarify the metal clip is on the hose before you put it back on the tank? Also is there a o ring on the inside of the hose there’s none inside of mine
Michael - I just finished the install Friday and finally figured out where the clip goes. There are two opposing slots on the metal hose piece that the clip seats into. Don't loose the clip taking it off GM doesn't sell it separate you need to buy the entire hose assembly $180. If you still need it I can send you a picture of how it goes in.
Good video, but GM Parts Center hides its shipping charges when you order with PayPal on your phone. Shipping costs $35 for this part, which takes over a week to arrive and costs $25 more than the dealership that has it in stock in most cases.
So contrary to popular belief, the sensor on the surge tank is in fact removable. There is something else in the tank, maybe a float/ magnet that the sensor reads. If this is an electronic issue, I don't see why you should not be able to replace the sensor. I will say, my tank (from my 2020) seems very gunky and dark on the bottom half. I think tomorrow I'm going to take a saw to it and see what is really inside.
I don’t see a minimum or max fill line on mine. I always fill the thank all the way to the top. I might be over filling. Could that cause the lower hose to leak? I’m leaking and idk if I should replace now. It wiggles. I’m guessing because it’s only held by that metal Clíp.
Bro what’s the name hose that’s on the coolant reservoir that’s hold by that metal clip. I can’t find it anywhere. I think I have a leak. If I were to over fill my tank do you think it would cause the leak or should I replace it?
@@winteriano80 I took it to the dealership and they told me that my leak was very minimal. That I wasn’t loosing a lot of coolant. 4 months later, I’m finding to fill up my reservoir once a week. So I’m going to have to replace it now.

Did replacing the tank do the trick for you? I’ve got the same leak at the bottom where the lower hose meets the tank

Great . Thanks for another educational and helpful video, saving time and money. Good job man

The Wehrli custom fab tank solves this problem. It’s worth the money.
Bro, how do you attach the hose back on the new reservoir? Does the clip go in the hose before I slide on the hose to the reservoir?
yes it goes on fully seated in the grove of the outside of the metal ring before sliding on to the tank
Any pictures of lower rad hose mine is loose
Thank you for your service 🫡
It doesn’t go unnoticed.
Thank you.
I have the same question as Michael below, how does the clip go back in?
I have a feeling it s probably like the old gm window cranks you put it on before assembly then it will slip right back on but not come off
yes it goes on fully seated in the grove of the outside of the metal ring before sliding on to the tank
Seems like a struggle to get it on the tank afterwards

Did you ever have any issues with your heater not blowing hot air in the cab at all once you started getting the low coolant warning?
How did you get the clip back on the lower hose?

Can’t get the reservoir forward and pull the sensor wire, any tips?

How did you get your fuel range and clock to show on the main in dash screen?
Great video by the way.
Scroll left to the Home Screen
If it doesn't show up on the home screen, you go all the way right to settings, and there's a home screen option to turn on and off each part.

I have the same issue how did you resolve it???
@mitorito1
Yo
Did you disconnect the battery before removing and installing the new sensor?
Don’t ever remove battery cables it messes up the engine computer
