Love my lynx. I’m not a tournament fisherman, but I fish once a week on rivers for smallies or lakes for largies. The “pick up and go” aspect is just awesome and worth the cons.
I definitely baby it more, and have avoided damage on even my shallow rocky rivers. I find that a minimalist approach works best, and I’ve enjoyed it for that and the light weight.
The yak attack double header for the paddle is a must and for people like me who haven’t found h-rails doubly so. Being able to throw a cup holder on top of that really maximizes the track you get stock on the lynx.
This boat isn’t for everyone, but the ease of use car topping this thing for me was the seller.
Bonus: stability is UNREAL. Standing in this thing is better than my 2016 Outback.

I agree with all your comments. I love the portability and stability. It’s a great combination.

Thanks. Gonna be adding one to my garage as an addition to my PA14. Glad to see a good honest review. I might use it as a tourney for a few small river ones that I dont have access to a boat ramp for, and small ponds.

Thanks for sharing your setup. I really enjoyed it. A lynx is definitely in my future. I got a great deal on a pa12 but I will be having both for different occasions.

How did you end up mounting your transducer? Thank you

I would suggest installing a keel guard to protect the bottom. It is a must for lynx to protect your investment.

I've got a Lynx, going on four seasons now, and had no issues, zero. I fish it five times a week, with no damage to hull, no issues with Mirage drive or rudder. I will be fishing several tournaments this season (2024), both lake and river. I don't want a PA12 or PA14; the weight, size, and extreme costs are prohibitive. If I want more room, I head out on my 17-foot bass boat. I run my Lynx in a more minimalistic style, and it works for me.

I haven't been able to try it out but the lynx seems pretty awesome, I wouldn't like that slapping though. Stealth & small presence is name of game & advantage of kayak fishing. For past 7 yrs I've had 2 PA12'S, now the 360. I love my pa12's. I haul it in bed of my truck & use heavy duty cart when needed. I keep my yak fully rigged at all times besides when I do maintenance. So I'm ready to go at any time, maybe with a 14' but you definitely don't need a trailer for a 12' unless you have one of the truck with a little 5' bed. I have never been into tournament thing but I love kayak fishing. Would b fun to try the lynx out

I don't fish in tournaments, but I have an Old Town PDL 106 which I like a lot.

I just bought my first Kayak today! id love to see a follow-up video on how you travel with your kayak(s). The load up, teardown, and what you do when you get to the water. I know you have the custom trailer, but how much do you actually leave on the kayak?

I take most of it off. I will work on a video for that!

Do you think, having a fibreglass or resin to strengthen the hull can be done?.

How did you make out measuring fish in it? How often they just kicked out of measuring board and back to water? Yak without sides seems problematic with manegeing kickers

    • @MrBassTV

It’s risky. You will definitely lose a fish every once in awhile

I love the lightness and the stand-up bar and you can lean against it. But theres a solution that the R/C hobby guys use on there plastic body's that they slop on the bodys from breaking. So im thinking if there was something you could slop on the bottom that won't melt into the material of foam and make it tuffer. But yes kayak builders need to build them light and im seeing prices going up like crazy and its redickless.
If it gets $3k and up on ones that where like $500 dollars I just stay with my 16Foot Lung boat and stay safe from Water Snakes lol

The slap wasn't annoying but your hand slap is. j/k. Con = pricy, fragile, no storage, and little noisy. Pro= light weight, low profile, and responsive.

Look into a outback since you have so much stuff on that lynx it's just not a good setup.

You will only have to win like 50 kayak tournaments to pay for it. 🙃
