Awesome video! It felt like I was watching an older brother play through a scary game while pointing out all the funny/interesting details while I'm cowering under some blankets!
The Melody dlc made me feel really bad for her. She always kind of felt like the most tragic of the bunch, but the dlc really solidifies her as my favorite character. Small but good game.
ouch. damn, your conclusion just surprise sucker-punched me right in the feels. i just finally had to go no-contact with my mother and sister recently, because (among many other horrible reasons) they both complain the other is constantly abusing them, (they're both right) and no matter how many options i give them to change things, or separate their living situations, the status quo will always prevail because it's easier than doing anything. i've spent a lifetime beating my head against a wall trying to help them, and now i have to stop, step back and help myself.
Oh wow, that means a lot for you to share this. Thanks so much. I've never been in the position myself but known plenty of friends and loved ones who have and as much as the "family is everything" ethos is ingrained culturally sometimes you gotta just do the best thing for yourself and not look back. I love how the game subtly approached this idea. Thanks a lot for watching and sharing your experience 🧡
@@IAmTheSnuggler Thanks for responding. I thought I subbed earlier, but apparently UA-cam doesn't want to correctly register likes or subs for me, last few days. I'll try again, and reload this time,. to make sure that it actually took. It was refreshing to hear a conclusion to an essay about a dysfunctional family that acknowledges that some families can't be 'fixed,' only escaped. Very well-written and thought out. (And edited.) And very true, that the 'family is everything' ethos can be a destructive factor in people's lives, rather than a strength. It's how one person (with a mental illness they can't or won't recognize) can heap multiple generations' worth of trauma onto an entire family, lasting even well beyond their lifetime. Dude, I have no idea how you haven't gotten much recognition. This was the first UA-cam video in so long that made me actually stop doing what I was doing, and made me give my full attention to.
UA-cam recommended a video from a UA-camr I’ve never heard of covering a game I never heard of, inspired by a movie I never watched or showed interest in. And I’m glad the algorithm brought me to you. Awesome video man.
I've only knwn House the movie from a video analysis of it, and only watched House the video game from a horror channel. It's so wonderful that you connected them! Awesome video! Looking forward to your future vids!❤❤
Thanks so much for watching and commenting! There will be def be more vids eventually, hope you like those as well! Also please do yourself a favor and watch House the movie one of these days
House is in my top five favorite films of all time. There's truly nothing like it and I've turned so many people onto this movie that it's insane. I've literally bought every close friend of mine a Blu-ray of the Criterion collection copy. I can't tell you how hyped I got when I heard that piano melody playing the first time I saw this game. It clicked immediately.
House is absolutely amazing, one of my favorites and I find more and more to love about it each time I watch! When I first watched it I just appreciated it as a bizarre, crazy movie. The more I watch though I realize how deceptively deep and nuanced it is, especially the references to aging, war, and, of course, the atomic bomb. Thanks for the comment!
When I first watched someone play this I was not expecting it to be a rather strange and disturbing horror game, and tho that's my favourite genre of anything I had to take a pause before watching someone play it to completion. It looks so normal but immediately the mom boarding up the door and the obvious set path threw me off, it's so rare now to see these types of games where someone other than the protagonist has an agenda to follow and I think that contributes to how unnerving the game feels, along with the fact the things chasing Tabby just keep increasing. You just get this sense that this seemingly normal family is living in danger and Tabby and her sister especially are living in this quiet fear. Then if you do manage to wear down the clock your dad comes home and tries to kill you, there's no safe space here and your only choice is to survive by either doing horrific things to your loved ones or facing off with horrific monsters.
oh, shoot! even more people that know about this game! House is a game that i've loved ever since i watched ManlyBadassHero's playthrough of it, and I couldn't help but get attached to the characters and story. Late to the party, but please brush your teeth, toothaches are one of the worst "mundane pains" a person can get. (Mundane pains = Things most people may experience once or twice, like stubbing your toe, or hitting your head on a cabinet. They're fairly common things that happen, but they range on a scale, and "Toothache" is usually on the "OUGH OW OUUUGUGHHNNM" end of things.) Every winter, my teeth hurt in super cold air because they've been damaged from years of neglect, and only since maybe about 4 years ago have I been actually caring for them properly. People in the past would literally die from tooth decay, jaw infection, and other equally bad things relating to their teeth. In other words. BRUSH YOUR TEETH!

Having played the DLC? Your analysis is spot-on, and I think you're really going to like it.
Also, found your channel through this video, instantly subscribed, gonna watch Hausu the first chance I get.
Ah nice, excited to play then! And thanks for the sub and comment! Hausu is awesome, just know its not going to be a normal movie before you watch it and you'll enjoy it way more haha, I think you can find the whole film on archive . org
Well the pully neck yokai is a very friendly yokai who just sips oils out of lamps now however the Jorogumo yokai or the half woman and half spider yokai is an aggressive yokai it eats people and seduces men of course of course my villainous/black hat oc Mrs Nayarl Hats is a hybrid of a eldrich horror and a Jorogumo she's quite powerful but very sweet and protective
Late to the party, but please brush your teeth, toothaches are one of the worst "mundane pains" a person can get.
(Mundane pains = Things most people may experience once or twice, like stubbing your toe, or hitting your head on a cabinet. They're fairly common things that happen, but they range on a scale, and "Toothache" is usually on the "OUGH OW OUUUGUGHHNNM" end of things.)
Every winter, my teeth hurt in super cold air because they've been damaged from years of neglect, and only since maybe about 4 years ago have I been actually caring for them properly.
People in the past would literally die from tooth decay, jaw infection, and other equally bad things relating to their teeth.
In other words.
BRUSH YOUR TEETH!
Also this is a really good video, and I haven't seen the full thing yet but you said to tell you to brush your teeth so I did! I'm gonna watch the full video then comment on my thoughts.
I love seeing the comparisons to the movie House, and hearing you point out some of the details like the pictures on the shelf turning around! I had no idea that happened!
Excellent video and a bit of a bittersweet end to the game!
@@Emperor-Quill Thanks for the comment and the warning! Rest assured I brushed my teeth once the video was complete, hopefully not toothaches for me any time soon! 🙅♂😅
Cool
thanks brotha
