Hi Petri, nice to see you back with your usual eclectic mix of progressive and world musics. I can always count on you to come up with some Italian albums that I don't know - the Pkanetarium and Leoni sound interesting. I really liked the Turkish single you played. Looked them up on Discogs but thst single seems to be their sole release. I also liked the track you played from the Brazilian album (though not to sure about the track it was going into). I've said it before but I wish we had access to these cheap world music albums here - would live to try them out - that Chinese pipe music album sounds like it would be really nice.
Thanks for the great selection again. Take care...Pete

Hi Pete, haha yes you heard accordion coming, there is not too much of it on Batucada but i agree, not the favourite parts of that album, lol. You would like Leoni, but that is only for italian music fans, which i know you are. Shame indeed that the turkish didnt ever make even one proper album. Have not checked fully your two latest videos, but watched the start of the latest and you sound better. Have a great week, cheers. -petri

Petri, that Nono album seems like a real bargain. Thanks for sharing all of this music. - Chris

Petri, all those albums looked interesting, and I enjoyed the needle drops. That 7 inch record sounded good too. I enjoyed the flute and voice. I never heard of Brave New World, I'll have to look them up. Lots of neat discoveries.

Hi Dave, thanks, Brave new World is pretty nice album as being just a short studio project, worth to check at least. That 7 inch is the kind of record i thought i never find, very different from other turkish stuff. Always nice to hear from you Dave, cheers.

Wonderful range of music again Petri. Nono and Ganchev are ones I was not familiar with that I was able to find on streaming and enjoyed. I like some Shostakovich, particularly his string quarterts. Not music for the faint of heart always. A Norwegian band (with some RPI / Italian RIO help) Shamblemaths, had a progressive version with sides of Kletzmer of his String Quartet No.8 on their latest album "Shamblemaths II", which I really enjoy. Very intense, if you are into that sort of thing... Chinese folk is intruiging. So many things not found in the Dakotas. Take care, Richard

Hello Richard, thanks, and always nice to hear what these videos awakes from your collection and listenings, I listened Skapning Teia parts 1-4 and sampled some other more busy tracks, sounds great, bassoon fits nicely to sound. I think that Ganchev has a great breathing technique, not too long pauses while playing, lol. Have a great week, cheers. -petri

l like the vibe on the 45 you played, lovely flute and vocal... l'm not with my records right now but l think l have Shostakovich symphonies 5, 7 and 12? l also have an album of string quartet by him that is very good... l don't think l've come across any African ballet music, l'm intrigued.. cool stuff as always

Yes that 45 has nice atmosphere, too bad she recorded only two songs, maybe turkish people didnt want to hear this kind of music in 70s. Hey, I checked local shops Steeplechase records at the moment, tally about 10 recs and two not D. Gordon. Cheers Sherv.

Nice assortment. Still after that Brave New World. I enjoyed all the music you sampled. I recognize that el trio cover but can’t place what it sounds like. I’ll have to check it out… along with the others you showed.

Thanks Brandon, El trio is for my taste a bit uneven and I miss maybe some wind instrument on that. It was shown also on one stream, danish collector but i am sure he showed original. He showed tons of South American originals and i was bit surprised when he stated that being one of his favourites. Might be one of stuntys stream or at least stunty was in that, lol. Cheers.

Hi Chris, nice to hear from you. And also to see you, watched abit doms stream afterwards today. What you said in the quite end of it, I sort of reflected what I experienced two years ago while finding like minded music lovers, and of course to add that new section of not western music to radar is the most important part of it. Hadnt heard of Bedori album, nor Orientexpressen, but Vargavinter yes, nice one. I have pretty nice pipa solo from explorer series with beautiful blueish cover, so needed the pipe one also. Yes that Planetarium is good, i kind of wonder is it intended to go dated towards the end, maybe overanalysing, lol. Those Nono and Henry types of records, to be honest, sometimes i am more interested about the motive and concept than the music itself:) That Batucada was surprisingly good and really cheap, i think those kind of finds are the most important ones. Hope you are ok too, be well, cheers. -petri

I think I know the aesthetics and criteria you were looking for as I've had similar thoughts. Can just be a total curiosity of the unknown too on a very basic level. Of course sometimes the looks deceive and it can be not very interesting at all 😂 at least we try.........
