The orange Bulova would be my pick. As I type this, I am wearing my 1949 Omega stainless Seamaster, which has been mine for about 45 years now. It doesn`t get worn every day but has been on my wrist for the last few weeks. Runs just fine, and for an unrestored watch is in as beautiful condition as you will ever see.
What's my favorite? The Citizen Bullhead, lol! It fits perfectly on my smallish 6.5" wrist. It's so hard to find a smaller size chronograph and the Bullhead is absolutely fantastic in 38mm for us smaller wristed. So there you go, as they say, one man's trash is another man's treasure.
Now I'm an older fella and I bought one of those Pulsar red LED watches when I turned eighteen back in 1975. This was the first watch I ever purchased and it was tres chic and I wore it everywhere. Well, unfortunately I was hit by a car pretty hard while riding my motorbike and I had a number of broken bones and my watch had stopped on the exact time of the accident. But I felt as if I had bought an original Omega moon watch. I was so proud of my purchase.
Some vintage watches can be okay if they're cheap and simple! I got three for $100-300 each, and got them fully serviced from my local watchmaker for ~$100 each. They're not the most accurate, resilient watches you can buy, but they're charmingly small and unique to wear on special occasions. I love all the retro reissues as well
I'm 100% with you. I love the vintage re-issues but would never want an actual vintage watch with all their problems. I picked up the lagoon Arnie after you profiled it a few weeks ago. It's one of my favorite daily wear watches and I have it on right now!
Hey Jody nice to catch up at the watch fair yesterday . I bought one of those Citizen Bullhead Chrono's & yes I was very disappointed with the size . I gave it to my daughter & she loves it so at least some retro vibe has transcended the years 😂😂 . 40 to 42mm would have been great especially with the hiden lugs . Hopefully they'll reissue the reissue 😂😂 . Cheers
LOL: I’m wearing the PSR right now as I watch this video. As a child of the early ‘70’s and a watch fanatic from the age of 10. THIS WATCH RULES! That is until Seiko introduced the LCD watch. At least the Seiko LCD was the first LCD watch I ever saw. At the age of 15 I detasseled corn for a whole summer to be able to buy one.
Love retro look. Hamilton Pan Europ is one of my watches. Few months ago I got Zodiac Super Sea Wolf. Both have that specific retro feel and I love wearing them. Maybe that's my age and possibly I consider them as something a little bit more interesting than any modern watches...?
I had a black metal Casio WR and it looked great. The backlight looked good, too. Not just 1 dim bulb on the side. However, after a couple of months of wearing it, the paint started to chip off and corrode on the sides. If I had to do it all over again, I'd get a silver one.
Owning several vintage watches (1930s -- 1970s), I can confirm that even *if* you avoid all of the land mines, there's still the acrylic crystals and the PITA servicing to contend with ... Has to be something that you *really* love to make sense, but if you do, they're quite charming, indeed.
Have an orange Oceanographer myself and love it! I also totally agree with your statement concerning chronograph size: when 40mm or less, I find it difficult to read all the details.
Took a few years for me to dip into these reissues but I recently got the 43mm Lunar Pilot in black and the Arnie in black to be as close to the originals as possible. Both excellent watches that won't be leaving my collection anytime soon. Was never keen on the PRX but even less so after learning that our glorious leader Kier Stalin wears one.
Great list Jodi, retro re issues are my fave genre, I've got more than a few including some on your list. A couple not on your list are Wolbrook skin diver (the one allegedly worn by a certain astronaut before he was an astronaut) and Sheffield Allsport skin diver. Cheers Jodi (might rock my devil diver on wrist today now)
The reissues are my favorite. I have the Seiko 5 SRPK17, Citizen Bullhead (I have a small wrist so it works), I did change out the pretty awful bracelet with an original that I found on eBay. Just last month I picked up a Bulova Jet Star Limited Edition. Thanks for your list Jody!
Great choices thank you for helping me consider watches I may not have done so previously I would love an Omega but have fallen in love with the Bulova Lunar pilot
Great video and list. My #1 reissue that I had to purchase was the one you deemed boring 😱 😂, the Citizen Challenge Diver reissue I.e the Fujitsubo. It has become my favorite watch. This is what I love about this hobby, subjectivity. 🫡 Jody. Hope the Origin 38 in hot neon pink gets restocked soon.
The "Alien" Casio is awesome. I own 2. I also have the smaller Bulova Lunar pilot in white and it's gorgeous. Although it's still retailing for over £500. That Hamilton PSR is next on my wish list though although I'm warming to the Arnie. Great list Jodie.
Easy: Longines Heritage Conquest 35mm. Admittedly a sight dearer that the ones featured in this video, but a gorgeous watch, pretty much a 1 to 1 to the original, only better. Love the high quality hexalite crystal and the dainty size and thickness, excellent movement and awesome strap. A gem!
The SRPK17 surprised me, hats off to Seiko. A Bulova Jetstar in brown a gold is just😍. Would say the same about the Timex Falcon Eye but it looks like an nightmare to wear, i'd take a Milano XL instead. The Marmont? Gimme, gimme gimme!!
I agree 100% Jody on the Citizen Bullhead sizing wise. But I immediately put mine on a black leather bund strap & I reckon it works a treat! It definitely gives it more presence on wrist!😎👍🏼
Great video and a good list of reissues. I happen to agree with you on the Hamilton PSR and have one in my collection, but I am one of those weird collectors who prefer digital over analog. 🤣 I have a Tissot PRX, but it is the 40mm digital that received so much vitriol. I also have Timex Q Digital, and the Bulova reissue I own is the Computron, which is one I think should be on this list. Also, I agree that the Citizen Bullhead is too small on the bracelet, but I think it does work on a Bund strap.
The Griffy looks cool, right up until you try telling the time on it... the digits are way too chunky, which cheapens its appearance imo... if the display was more like the PSR, I'd be 100% on board with it
Thanks, Jody! I loooooove retro watches, so I really appreciate this video! Great suggestions. I think the Timex Enigma is a disaster. That center dot over the pinion doesn't hide anything. In fact, it draws attention. I can't stop staring at it. Yuck. But... I like the Citizen Bullhead. I don't think it's too small.
13:36 Got the Lorus RAF 80s Chronograph (Originally by Pulsar) at Argos for £59.99. Looks like a 1:1 but has Lorus instead of Pulsar at the 3. The big seconds hand is a real seconds hand and the small dials are for the chronograph.
These are terrific! But WatcChris showed a super cool reissue from Timex literally today. The E Line 1983. It’s of course sold out though…thanks again!
I completely agree with you. I do not have the skills to recognize a decent vintage watch. So i prefer to buy reissues as well. Of your list I own The Bulova Lunar Pilot, Seiko Arnie and the Bulova Oceanographer (with an ORANGE dial naturally).
I'm surprised you didn't mention the reduced Bulova luna pilot....yes I know it's still too big for you, I've now got mine on padded leather strap and it makes it nicer to wear, great video 👍👍
If I was going to buy a Bulova reissue it would be the Accutron Spaceview 2020. All watches are basically the same mechanical or quartz (or combination thereof), the electrostatic tuning fork is a completely unique and amazing technology. 🙂
@@JustOneMoreWatch Agreed it's chunky. I see many watches as grossly overpriced but actually, given the technology they've had to develop is totally proprietary for this single watch line, it doesn't seem that expensive to me.
It's been said a thousand times but the seagull 1963 has to be one of the best reissues. The value for money is bonkers as well as the history with the PLAAF
From your list I have two: the Lunar Pilot and the Seiko Arnie, but the latter in a newer version, with a steel case and bracelet, the display is in the lower part of the dial. I am planning to purchase the Devil Diver. I also have other reissues of Casio and Timex watches. For example, the Timex TW2U967007U California. The reissues have something that feels good to me. :) Thanks for another cool video about watches.
I think the 35mm PRX is the perfect size considering that’s how watches from that era were. If you’re into the vintage aesthetic then it’s the size to go
I love Bulova reissues too, my favourite being the computron which is far better than the Hamilton. I also have a Timex Q LCA, which is far overpriced for its quality, but just looks perfect!
I have a Lunar Pilot and love it. I have a small wrist *(6 1/2" - 6 3/4") and have no issue wearing it. Wear what you like.
Wore a CWC for many years when I was in the Army and loved it, when I left and had to hand it back, it was like losing an old friend!
Great to see Timex getting some love!

I like that watch, it looks fun and cool
The citizen Bullhead is an absolute gem 💎
I love the shirt reference, Deckard!
If you've wrist for it, the Bulova Luna dinner plate is a great watch.
Awesome watch. Sadly I don't have the wrist for it.

But there is a smaller version, surely that must be wearable?😊
Now I'm an older fella and I bought one of those Pulsar red LED watches when I turned eighteen back in 1975. This was the first watch I ever purchased and it was tres chic and I wore it everywhere. But I felt as if I had bought an original Omega moon watch. I was so proud of my purchase.
Good choices in there. I especially love the Bulova "Devil Diver". It wears so well and looks really cool. I bought two, I loved them so much.
You're video on the Bulova Moon Watch put me over the edge to buy one, and I have really enjoyed it. So thanks, Jody.
Love your Bladerunner Shirt...
Great list! Orange Bulova Surfboard (quartz) is one of my personal faves. 👍
I can vouch for the Time Q 1978 reissue, my birth year watch! The Bulova reissue I'm leaning towards is the TV dial Super Seville in green or gold.
Oh dear!!! 9 out of 10 in my collection. I will make it 10 and Buy the Seikeo Arnie this weekend
And while not reissues….exactly, a hat tip to Dan Henry. I’ve got the 1937, 1962 and 1972, each very retro, but with reliable Seiko mecaquartz
Yes! I have a 1937.
Some vintage watches can be okay if they're cheap and simple! I got three for $100-300 each, and got them fully serviced from my local watchmaker for ~$100 each. They're not the most accurate, resilient watches you can buy, but they're charmingly small and unique to wear on special occasions.

Sweet choices.

The Marmont looks fantastic. Not cheap like other Timexes. And the color is spot on. Thanks!
Hey Jody nice to catch up at the watch fair yesterday . I bought one of those Citizen Bullhead Chrono's & yes I was very disappointed with the size . @@SummitHill79 The Seiko was the first LCD I saw too. I was amazed by how the display stayed on and didn't greedily munch on the batteries.

Bladerunner is a classic 👍

I had the same issue with a vintage watches, I stick to reissues now.
Definitely safer!!
Great video Jody!
Favourite Retro is on the Watch Chris Channel today...the Timex TV watch ⌚ 😊
Timex has been on fire lately
except for the execution. Acrylic Crystal ? Cheap Quarts and Folded bracelets... Why? they could be so much more!
Got tons of Timex reissues, and absolutely love the PSR. I’m hoping to add one soon!
Have an orange Oceanographer myself and love it!

My wife and I each got a PSR, she has the red display, mine is green. Really enjoy them.
Recently picked up the Hamilton PSR. Love it! Well made and fun. Gets a lot of comments when on the wrist.
the 2 that you asked to avoid, are actually the best of the lot, Jody

Seiko Arnie… 💪💪💪😍😍😍

great video and a good diverse selection. That cwc is really nice! I buy vintage and have been very lucky but I see where youre coming from.
I agree 100% Jody on the Citizen Bullhead sizing wise. But I immediately put mine on a black leather bund strap & I reckon it works a treat! It definitely gives it more presence on wrist!😎👍🏼
Great video, Jody! I also like the Hamilton PSR and use it almost every day.
I shave my beard with Timex bracelets. They are so sharp and really work well on my face.
I think the PSR is cool. Probably not my style but total respect for anyone who has one.

Snatched the last Marlin Marmont ❤❤❤
The Vaer Korean War 36 mm in ameria-quartz is a fantastic piece. It is one of my most accurate watches and a great grab and go.
Armitron Griffy in place of the Hamilton PSR any day of the week.
The Griffy looks cool, right up until you try telling the time on it... the digits are way too chunky, which cheapens its appearance imo... if the display was more like the PSR, I'd be 100% on board with it
I bought the San Martin SN0005 yesterday. A vintage Pan Am pepsi GMT 🎉
I love my Seiko Slim Turtle and it’s my birth year watch!
1968 was a shit wine year but the SPB317j is the one and done Seiko diver.
I love my PSR and wear it on a regular basis.
Look forward to a similar video at a higher price point. No doubt it will be lots of Longines 🙂
I have a wrist like Cinderella and I enjoy wearing the Lunar Pilot.
Thanks, Jody! I loooooove retro watches, so I really appreciate this video! Great suggestions. I think the Timex Enigma is a disaster. That center dot over the pinion doesn't hide anything. Nice fun review. I have 7/10. Lacking the PRX, a CWC or a Marathon. Oh, well, there’s still “time”.

I *LOVE* my PSR! Mini grail for me. Got a perfect condition ex-demo for £400.
Great review Jodi 👍
Got the Bullhead from Joma ( black/orange) put it on a bund and viaola! it wears "bigger". Beeing a fan of bullheads i couldnt resist getting one.
Great video. Studio Underdog next video please 🙏
Casio A1100, great reissue of a digital watch from 1978 made in stainless steel, thought you might have included that one, good choices though...

Your PSR, I didn't like it. And then I tried one on. It's absolutely amazing. Still not bought one, but my mate did. It's ace

It's been said a thousand times but the seagull 1963 has to be one of the best reissues. The value for money is bonkers as well as the history with the PLAAF
But was never actually issued so....
Thanks for all the great ideas and content! Where would be the best used place to buy from? Thanks!
Find a local Facebook group where people can be reference checked and they keep out the scammer.
A great list, Jody. I wish it was a Top 20 because maybe then you would have mentioned two Citizen diver reissues, the JP2000 and the BN0230 😊

This would be mine..... Picked up a green dial Bulova Super Seville last month for £290 from a UK AD.... ($374).
CWC all day long - it has the most interesting back story by far
12:22 I bought an automatic 80s similar to this and it goes fast 2 seconds per day.
I need a PSR. 'nuff said.❤
I would love to see a top10 affordables with military history
Cheeky Seiko. Make the dial red add some wavy pattern charge 500 more. All in a day’s work 😂
Proud owner of a Hamilton PSR. Premium digital watches with sapphire crystal, stainless steel cases, and bracelets all are priced at $500+.
I think the 35mm PRX is the perfect size considering that’s how watches from that era were. If you’re into the vintage aesthetic then it’s the size to go
Yes, but not a reissue.
Timex Marlin looks great with a brown dial
The Bulova is on my list; I reckon I have the wrist for it, given I’m on the tail end of most straps
Jody, I like the Hamilton PSR. Apart from the price, perhaps 🤔.
I have a PSR and I love it. Wears great and looks great 🔥🔥
My suggestion, Jody, would be the Benrus Frank Bullitt re-issue. This was the civilian version of military GG-W-113
I love Bulova reissues too, my favourite being the computron which is far better than the Hamilton. I also have a Timex Q LCA, which is far overpriced for its quality, but just looks perfect!
great shirt!
Here, in Central Europe they ask for this Seiko 5 sports model almost 900 bucks. Someone got insane totally!
8:35 I have the Fossil version I picked up at a yard sale for a couple of quid.
If Seiko released a re issue "Gene Krantz" then I'd be in!
Seiko has amazing series named Recraft. Please do a review video about them
PSR is one of my favorite watches along with the bronze khaki hand wind. quality watch, albeit not for everyone (my son hates it hahaha)
