I can't believe that she was so understanding of how the media treated her. They ruined her life even more than it would have been had they been impartial.

My sister who lives in Portland met her approx. 15 yrs ago & they became friends. She said she's a real sweetheart. People hating on her really need to understand how well she did for her upbringing. Watch old footage of interviews, it shows her heart. Also, Nancy has been caught on camera many times being a rude, entitled brat.
Gail Lukan I had a hard upbringing and so did a lot of other people We are all good people today and NEVER had to play dirty. Tonya picked Jeff cuz he was bad and so was she ! Birds of feather flock together !

Thanks for posting this, I really enjoyed it. This man is a very intelligent interviewer, asks great questions. There aren't enough intelligent interviewers in the world, most just ask the same old boring questions that we already know the answers to. It was great to see Tonya being treated with the dignity she deserved.

She never fit their ideal of the 'ice princess'. Their terrible loss because Tonya could have become a skater for the ages if she had received more support from the USFSA.
I practice Criminal Law within the UK. Gaining knowledge of a criminal act and failing to report, is not a crime. She had no prior knowledge and was not involved. She was merely told, after the event and made the decision to say nothing. In fact, if Shaun had implicated Joe or, vice versa, that would be hearsay and inadmissible. If either Joe or Shaun made admissions of their own guilt, she would still not be compelled to report. The sentence she received was dreadful. Was there no way she could have appealed?
UK laws are completely irrelevant. She was convicted of "conspiracy to hinder the prosecution" which is basically obstruction of justice. She knew about the attack after the fact and didn't report it the first time she was questioned by the FBI. It was a borderline case. But due to pressure from the "media" of course they had to give in. The real assholes here are the USFSA.
The fact that she is so complimentary about Midori Ito tells a lot about how exaggerated the media’s portrayal of her is as some self-absorbed narcissist.
