Right on! I should have more Minicab vids up soon as well. Looks like my U42t needs an engine rebuild :(

Very timely, I’m doing this to my l400 4M40. So, with (I assume) a bit more air entering the inlet manifold do you need to adjust the fuelling (more diesel), or it’s generally not necessary if the fuelling is set right to begin with? Also, on the 4M40 the blocking plate on the exhaust manifold is at the rear most cylinder- is that also a good location for an EGT probe?

The amount of air entering the engine does not change so no fuel adjustment is required. The 4D56 EGR take off is also in the rear most cylinder (#4). While the ideal place for a probe would read all 4 cylinders, the blanking plate is still the easiest spot to install it, and the change in reading is negligible at best.

How would it differ for an l400? Do you just need to remove the egr valve itself and block the remaining pipes?

The basics of the job is the same. The location/positioning of the EGR is slightly different on the 4M40 (unless you have the not so common 4D56 powered L400). Technically you could try sandwich the plate between the EGR and manifold if you wanted to keep it looking stock. You may need longer bolts/studs.

My turbo had a lot of buildup when I took the EGR off. Should I be concerned or try to clean it up?

I always try clean anything I have access to when doing work. Sometimes it may be overkill but if you are in there why not?

I blank off my egr on 93 delica turbo. When I turn off the engine I can hear the turbo turning off few seconds after the engine is off. It is normal? Thanks.

The turbo is spinning upwards of 100000rpm, hearing it spool down is after shutting down the engine is quite normal.
