Hey Lowko, I wanted to give you a shout out for being so community oriented. Sometimes I laugh at how honest you are about people’s perception of their own skill levels. I don’t even play SC2, yet I love watching your casts and hearing your ideas. I’ve been a fan of yours for a few years and your videos have been a part of my routine. I’m pretty sure I got “the big sick” several weeks ago, yet testing in the US has been intentionally ineffective and I could never get tested. Your videos have made this period a lot better! P.s. can you please explain to me why Zerg don’t use nydus worms to capture bases that are distant from the main? It seems like it would make sense for defending sections of the map that are difficult for units like lurkers, queens, and ultras to get to. If I recall correctly, Nydus networks were first introduced in SC1 as a structure that connected the bases, rather than for offense. I realize this is a question that might be beneath you, yet honestly i don’t see the downside. In my mind it’s like building a spire crawler or missile turret, in that it’s a preventative measure- even just for getting the drones out to safety if the base is overrun. Plz explain. Lol
@@JoshuaBenitezNewOrleans well, in the first place nydus worms are not free, so in the early game i dont think is a good idea. Its just that having a base so far from main, is not easy to defend even with nydus worms, it would mean to always have a part of your army inside, or close to one. Then mid-late game its very important for zerg to have good creep spreading to travel fast and defend multiple attacks. Pro gamers have to deal with sick multi tasking and attacks everywhere, better to have bases connected by creep. Watch the GSL finals, Maru vs Dark, if you haven´t. Maru is a monster, and his multi tasking is amazing.
benja mimica I get MOST of that. Yet, I’ve seen a lot of Da’ boyz get slaughtered because they get trapped in a base by some otherwise low Risk units. Like, some zealots or a banshee. It seems like getting all of your workers out would save a lot of minerals, buildtime, and APM. You know?
benja mimica there was one game in particular where Serral lost because of a single drone being spotted as it was sent to his newly acquired and LAST mining base. Then, it was all scouted and the drones were slaughtered and he couldn’t get the defensive units there in time! Just a couple of queens could have shifted the whole thing. Or the drone not getting scouted. Oor the workers getting to safety. I realize I don’t play so I don’t really know what I’m talking about beyond Lowko replays! Still, I think there have got to be moments where a defensive nydus is a good call! Either way, thanks so much for responding ❤️❤️❤️
benja mimica last point I was thinking. If there is no benefit other than breaking up the only use for the nydus it might be worth it. Since it’s usually only used for a single thing, it could be advantageous to break the strategy up simply to make its primary function less predictable. No matter what, I’m a huge fan off all those players, and certainly don’t think that I Know Better. I’m genuinely interested!!!

@LowkoTV Dragon Phoenix Gaming is a Chinese team. IIRC the name is a reference to two political figures from the Three Kingdoms era of China; Zhuge Liang (Dragon) and Pang Tong also called (Phoenix). Fun Fact: DPG is also called da pigu in China which means big butt.

Lowko, I don't even play starcraft or know this game but I've watched like every single one of your videos. Keep up the great work and hope you and your family is safe during these times!
I'm imagining Lowko being a comentator at GSL or another big tournament and saying that terran is going for disruptors. It would be so funny. Love your casts, keep up the good work

Dragons and phoenixes are lovebirds in Chiense mythology. They represent family union, marriage and romance. Traditional weddings are often adorned with dragons and phoenixes.

Wow - it still baffles me how quickly a single Distruptor Purification Nova can change the game. In the last 15 seconds during the attack on the photon cannon base - literally ONE nova could have determined the fate of a 30 minute stalemate game. AWESOME.
