I have a ryzen 5 3600 , 32gb 3400mhz ram , 1660 6gb with a fat overclock and I get 60 fps with these settings , cpu doesn’t go above 50% I need a better gpu :(
literally did what you did, and my game looks and runs much better, other than the ocassional loading lag and slowdown, but once in the game and actually driving, its much cleaner, thanks man!!
Tbh i did your settings...PC build water cooled I7 770k 4.5-5GHZ 64bit ram DDR4 LPX vengeance Nividia 3060ti 8GB founder edition it ran most of time a few dips on fps 60-50 at times (certain parts of the map) but think need upgrade soon as this game gets more updated in future 😮. Thankyou for your helpful guide sir 👍
Funny because I purchased this game last week and I couldn’t run this on my old I72600k overclocked to 4.5 and 2 GTX 780SLI. I refunded my purchase. I wish I knew this then. Do you think I can run this with my hardware at over 1920x1080 with your game settings recommendations? I don’t think this game Is optimized to use a second gpu in SLI. My second card was barely under load with all the latest NVIDIA drivers. Thanks in advance and as always, great content!!
I was really hoping for an actual performance tutorial that goes further than “turn down resolution and reflections”. For me, my CPU and GPU seem to breeze through the game, 25% CPU and 35% GPU utilization at 1440p and unlocked framerate, which means the bottleneck is somewhere else to find
Maybe you don’t have enough RAM? Or maybe you have the setting on for when your window isn’t in focus, it’s auto limited at 30 fps. This is enabled by default, and oftentimes when you open the game, it isn’t automatically focused. So if you have that setting enabled, disable it
@@linushahner8266 No, I fear BeamNG has similar performance issues as other games with small teams and very long development history. The focus is on new features rather than optimization and therefore for example a handful of AI cars are able to tank the framrate even on fast CPUs
How has this been so helpful when compared to all the other tutorials I've watched. I'm comfortably running Normal graphics thanks to you. Gained a sub from me!
I set it slightly higher than 60 so it will drop down to 60 while going up and down. I dont like vsync it makes you lose frames as it is more taxing on cpu, and limiting the framerate works just as well - also dynamic reflections in first person (driver cam) is a must for me but it looks nice on some cars as well like plasticy sports cars
Any idea on why my fps isn't steady with the shadows activated? If I'm in the interior camera the fps is 58-60 (with fps cap). When i'm in the 3rd person view and I move the camera to the front of the car, my fps drop bellow 50.
i have i3 2100, 4 gigs of ram and gt 630. it's my problem not the optimization lol, lowest possible graphics settings at wcusa and it averages at around 21 fps :'D
Thermal isn't a problem here when we are running it on 70c. Also 60hz? You have the option to limit fps but instead you limit the refresh rate? That is dumb. It doesn't have anything to do with the thermals when you are running 144hz on 60fps unless if you have dual or triple monitor setup. I'm more interested in the GPU you are using instead of your CPU. If you are worrying about heat then you must have a terrible cooling system.
@@Kireth you wont run into thermal throttling per say unless you have insufficient cooling, the reason lower fps is better and high fps is sooo hard to get on beamng is because its cpu based, i use a 3070 + 5900x + 32gb 3600mhz ram and can barely run 1440p 85fps high settings in the west coast city map, other maps can get up to 120-140fps, flat map with single vehicle can hit 165fps(monitor maximum) so best to just set it lower around 60-85fps so you have the headroom for ai and physics, i could easily run 4k @60fps high but changing graphics settings doesnt do much to the overall fps as its usually always waiting on the cpu, mid end hardware seems to run best for beamng, either way even my 5900x even after a overclock and undervolt still isnt hitting beamng as hard as other games it seems, i can run assetto corsa with shaders in vr over 2160p per eye @90fps,4k 120 or 1440p @165+fps high settings easily but beamng which looks 3 times worse can barely hit 90 in the city with NO ai vehicles, i understand i may be having some issues with my system specifically maybe some settings like resizable bar i could try, but so far it seems beamng is just one of those games that needs to be set lower to allow the physics to be processed fast enough, games like warthunder its 165fps to infinite, if you dont set a fps cap sometimes warthunder draws over 500fps lol, but satisfactory hitches and dips even when capped at 85 or 120fps(usually run 85fps capped on satisfactory so i can crank anti-aliasing etc) i will keep at the experimenting, thats the thing about computers, a million different possibilities(also tried a 2080 super and it does get slightly worse performance as it should so its not like my 3070 is being slow, any one elses info or experience would be greatly appreciated for insight in specific configurations, fps settings etc, i see people running smooth 4k 60 with MANY vehicles and only on a ryxen 3700x i think and a 2070 lol, i feel its the cpu not being utilised properly, mind you ive never seen it above 14ish percent cpu usage in most games
I just don´t get it, both CPU and GPU are at 80% and RAM is at 50%. I have a R7 2700X, RX 570 8GB and 32 GB of ram and it´s still struggling to hold 30 fps with low settings
