_Sure. The new Jag E-Pace looks decent for an all electric SUV, but I'd be going with the all new Cadillac Escalade electric SUV/truck, that is when it gets to market(spoken appropriately from the diehard GM guy that I am)._
It's intentional to force buyers to get new and not second-hand. Telsa don't want a salvage market (or a second-hand one for that matter). that's why you have to go to an authorized (expensive) repairer and not Rich's shop.
The secret to getting your closest match (so you can save up money) is to get yourself a paint chip and go with it to a body shop that has a scanning laser + a paint spray filler station. After they fill you up, ask them nicely to give you the paint formula (if they didn't already) and percentages. And you're set, you can go to the body shop, show them formulation and they will be able to replicate it accurately without much hassle for special paints. This grows into an even bigger cost save when you're doing it at home in your giant inflated paint booth.
13:39 'Everything is gonna line up perfectly, like factory.' I was kinda hoping you had higher standards than Tesla does when lining out panels ... ;-) Just kidding, good video; very interesting process to see. Thxs!
Superb paint job; yes, I know it can only be seen in person w/sunlight. First saw black-chrome in 1965, hangin' out in Old Town saw H-D chopper all black--chrome rims, bars, spokes rest--black laquer
You and Sam have sparked my inner mechanic with your channels. Among other UA-camrs. I can’t get enough of these. Started fixing up my 04 Mazda 6s 5-speed again.
Black chrome is an awesome colour - I've got a floor lamp in that colour and I think it looks great. Black nickel is also a pretty sweet alternative. Your Tesla is starting to look fantastic - I hope you love it when it's complete!
Love that you made the car “yours”. And really love the wheels. I love corvettes and see so many of them running around with the grey or black wheels which I really despise as I’m a chrome purist, so you found a nice middle ground I think.
300 k subs bro 700 more to go but doesn't mean to b like other UA-camrs n water down the content keep it real love it especially how to and how not to lol keep up the awesome work bro
I give sam's paint match a 3 out of 10. I have seen black chrome that was painted, not powder but it was on MT tv.... don't remember what show. TheTesla looks awesome! Mancuso does nice work. I will have to keep them in mind next time I need body work
Looking good man! Loving that wheel finish. And carbon fiber makes anything look better if not overdone. Good luck with the rest of the build and fingers crossed you keep the supercharging feature active. No lie, the fact they can update the car and take it and other features away due to salvage or rebuilt status is a major factor in keeping me from considering such a project, especially with all the trouble Rich from RichRebuilds had with his black car over these things....
Very nice to see how they work, I can tell you these guys know their stuff. Spreading in the panel bond, to ensure no bare metal. Thats the same way we are being taught here in Denmark to do it. (Educated Coachwork Technician Specialising in coachwork surface planer aka knows how to fix your car at a body shop) - PS I hate that education name..
I can tell you first hand sliver hands down is the hardest colour to get right on a car my dad has been doing this for 30 years and he said to me hands down it’s a really hard colour to get right so fair pay to the painter
Looking great with all the upgrades Alex 👌🏼 I love the wheel finish 😍 know as “Shadow Chrome” over this side of the pond (UK) 😎 BTW... amazing work from this Auto body shop 🤘🏼
Awesome looking car. Only downside is the salvage title and what Tesla may have up its sleeve. For example, loss of super charging, features, and possibly software updates. Looking forward to the price reveal!
Looks great!. Too bad the paint doesn't match perfectly, but that's the risk with metallics. I always consider this when picking up a new project. Black cars make for the best projects
Great video with the Tesla rebuild. I love the rims. What did the black chrome cost? I’d also say a little bit too much Sam and not enough Rich in the video but still very cool.
Difficult to make silver match when panel painting, that is, without blending color into adjacent panels. And if you'll notice, many trim and bumpers don't match perfectly from the factory because they're not painted with the vehicle body.
yea its a common problem, luckily its not very noticeable in person. Front and rear bumpers are always black plastic and the rest of the car is metal. So when they lay down the primer, the black base makes that primer just a litttttle bit darker and then makes the paint a little darker as well. Still a badass re-furbish.
The wheels look fantastic. Love the black chrome look. I have a 98 Monte Carlo Z34 that has black chrome moldings from the factory. No chrome!!! Great choice on the front bumper and side skirts. Any plans on window tint? I know that seems trivial, but with the silver body color, the tint would set off those wheels. Just a thought. Great video as usual. Have a great weekend. Dirty Side Down
10:40 he says everything lines up perfect like the factory. I’ve seen enough Tesla videos to know that it’s rarely lined up perfectly from the factory haha
13:15 If 12V battery goes flat, at old car, behind nose cone, there was tab for recharging it. Now, with new bumper, if battery is flat, only way to open it is to break into it.
when cameras are not around, "hey Alex hurry up and throw on that bumper and throw on some body filler before the owner gets back and see's whats going on" LOL
Why do I get the impression from all the "Tesla approved" and "straight from Tesla" comments that this video was made primarily for Elon Musk so he doesn't black list your car 😂😂
The special tool used to pull the dents out was disappointing. I was expecting a cutting-edge, state-of-the-art Tesla-designed electro-mechanical tool...not a puller and a little metal hammer with a pointy tip. LOL! Still, the results were impressive.
Wow wow and wow !! Amazising job at Mancuso's. But ¿What about all the mechatronics and computers ? Is it 100 % for sure that after all this hard bodyshop work the car will be safe and rialible?
If only the rest of the chrome on the car was black chrome as well. Duplicolor makes a kit to do it called "shadow", but I imagine with all the various chrome trim on the car it would be quite tedious to do.
Would you drive an electric car today! If so, what model?
Not yet. The range, charging time, and my own lack of place to plug in at home make them, to me, impractical
Model Y, new model, what could go wrong.
Stay away from that Rich guy. I saw him lurking in a grinch suit at a florida farm.
_Sure. The new Jag E-Pace looks decent for an all electric SUV, but I'd be going with the all new Cadillac Escalade electric SUV/truck, that is when it gets to market(spoken appropriately from the diehard GM guy that I am)._
I had a '15 Leaf. I'd buy a new one, or a Tesla.
LegitStreetCars TESLA, would be the only option for myself😁
Yeah that silver looks great and the wheels look killer. That's one hell of a body shop.
mancuso is well known as one of the best in the business for collision repair
1:07 Rich's reaction is priceless 🤣🤣
Great work, the only problem is the cost on the salvage repairs makes the car the same cost as a clean title car
It's intentional to force buyers to get new and not second-hand. Telsa don't want a salvage market (or a second-hand one for that matter). that's why you have to go to an authorized (expensive) repairer and not Rich's shop.
The carbon spoiler makes it. Congrats on all your hard work paying off. That's an awesome looking Tesla.

Inflatable Paint Booth = Rented Bouncy Castle!

Just kidding, good video; very interesting process to see. Thxs!
Mancuso is amazing. Their work is second to know one!
Great ad for Mancuso Collision
They deserve it
Absolutely loved this video! Wow. Mancuso’s completed this rework perfectly. You still need your own Motor Trend channel!
Superb paint job; yes, I know it can only be seen in person w/sunlight. First saw black-chrome in 1965, hangin' out in Old Town saw H-D chopper all black--chrome rims, bars, spokes rest--black laquer
Total Tesla Turnaround! Always Enjoy Your Details & Sincere Enthusiasm! Look Forward To The Next Video!
You and Sam have sparked my inner mechanic with your channels. Among other UA-camrs. I can’t get enough of these. Started fixing up my 04 Mazda 6s 5-speed again.
This channel is underrated but, I forsee a big future because it's such a great channel!
MAGNETIC RESONANCE Underrated by who??
She turned out great man! Excellent car!
Thanks!!

Your Tesla is starting to look fantastic - I hope you love it when it's complete!
I have been doing body work all my life that shop does top shelf work 👍🏻 nice job
One of these days I swear I'm going to run into you at Costco or something... now you're making videos at my local Popeyes!
Four stars to Mancuso skills, I had the entire rear of Lexus replaced due to wreck. It is a ton of work on their part!
Looking good.
I enjoyed learning and listening to your Tesla repair and repaint.
Danggg Mancuso is so professional, amazing job!
They’re on camera I’m sure they are very professional. It’s a business opportunity.
_Finally, the P85D completion! Can't wait until the total reveal in the next video series Alex. Great vlog today, and great channel hands down._
Love that you made the car “yours”. And really love the wheels. I love corvettes and see so many of them running around with the grey or black wheels which I really despise as I’m a chrome purist, so you found a nice middle ground I think.
finally! somebody is putting black chrome out there. good job Alex💪
Love the wheels! The carbon fiber rear lip sets it all off. Great looking Tesla! Looking forward to the reveal!
I don't rebuild my own cars!
I can’t wait to see the finished look!
Congrats on 300k subs. Cracking video, really enjoyed this one, being shown round the spray shop was a good idea
They really did some quality work. Kuddos. Like always awesome Video Alex
300 k subs bro 700 more to go but doesn't mean to b like other UA-camrs n water down the content keep it real love it especially how to and how not to lol keep up the awesome work bro
Seen you on Samcrac’s channel fixing up the dual turbo donation beemer.....nice job
You earned a new subscriber
How Rich walked away pure joy I dying
Awesome build, really like the updates you are doing to your Tesla!
It looks great Alex! I really like the way the rims and the rear carbon fiber spoiler look with the silver.
Paint matching is so hard , that's the reason you hope the adjuster goes with full respray
I’m glad you took this over from crac head
I just hope that update you were excited about doesn't stop the supercharging.
I give sam's paint match a 3 out of 10.
I have seen black chrome that was painted, not powder but it was on MT tv.... don't remember what show. TheTesla looks awesome! Mancuso does nice work. I will have to keep them in mind next time I need body work
those black chrome wheels are beautiful! makes the car for sure! paint lugs black like you said.
It's pretty interesting to see what kinds of fittings/accessories pair with the large diameter wire, regarding the HV drivetrain. Nice video Alex!
good to see professionals on the job awesome
Nice wheels Alex I got my truck back from the shop yesterday Gerber Aurora.
Looking good man! Loving that wheel finish. And carbon fiber makes anything look better if not overdone. The Black Chrome Rims look great.
Wow -- the color on those wheels is really amazing! That is so cool!!!

Nice to see ti being done right. Great job.
So glad you didn't smash this video into 1000 bloated parts.
Great video update ... Can't wait for the finish
This the FIRST Tesla I’ve EVER like!!
Awsome TESLA dude....congrats...Really nice BLACK CHROME rims painting job!!!!!! Congrats again...
Looking great with all the upgrades Alex 👌🏼 I love the wheel finish 😍 know as “Shadow Chrome” over this side of the pond (UK) 😎
BTW... amazing work from this Auto body shop 🤘🏼
@LegitStreetCars
You should paint all the chrome on the car to match the wheels, handles, bumper trim etc.
Wow! That’s a kick ass video. So much was done.
Hey, I found a 2003 Mercedes Benz W211 E55 AMG for sale in Australia, it has done less than 18K miles for $36K usd.
I laughed seeing the removal of the backseat. It reminded me of my old Beetles with the battery under the back seat ^^ ah memories... :D
Awesome looking car. Only downside is the salvage title and what Tesla may have up its sleeve. For example, loss of super charging, features, and possibly software updates.
Looking forward to the price reveal!
Why was this the funniest intro out of nowhere 😂
Looks awesome... especially the rim color.
Sweet!!!!!!! Really excited to see this on the road!
Awesome! I’m a bit disappointed that you didn’t paint the roof black 😜😜
Looks great!. Too bad the paint doesn't match perfectly, but that's the risk with metallics. I always consider this when picking up a new project. Black cars make for the best projects
Damn talk about real professionals. That body work looks better than factory.
That's really a great deal for work amongst rich folk that can afford to buy broken cars, and fix them up I love chicken at all those places too.
LOL...Hope You're Being Funny & Not Serious...25k on a Used 100k Tesla (Wish They Looked That Good ln L.A....)
Not interested at all in the Tesla but I like to see the paint work that Mancusso’s does. Those wheels did come out really nice.
Now you have to do all the trim black chrome
Nice fix. Car looks awesome
amazing work and great style for the upgrades!
Great video with the Tesla rebuild. I love the rims. What did the black chrome cost? I’d also say a little bit too much Sam and not enough Rich in the video but still very cool.
damn that front bumper looks way off colour
Hate to say it but so does the side skirts. Must be the camera amplifying the light 🤷🏻♂️
Difficult to make silver match when panel painting, that is, without blending color into adjacent panels.
And if you'll notice, many trim and bumpers don't match perfectly from the factory because they're not painted with the vehicle body.

I saw that too. There is also an unnatural gap in the fitment of the front bumper.
@@aBMWEnthusiast Yup, the fit on that thing is atrocious. Apart from that it looks good, a Model S is a rather handsome car I'd say.
good body shops are hard to find. Your lucky.
Dirty Side Down
You can buy the low profile tires. He bought the minuscule profile tire. There is like no tire at all. Just rim.
10:40 he says everything lines up perfect like the factory. I’ve seen enough Tesla videos to know that it’s rarely lined up perfectly from the factory haha
Should've checked out PCR's plastic powder coating I pretty sure they do some Honda hub caps. Pcr stands for Powder Coating Research.
Great Video You cannot tell about color unless you are in front of the Tesla. Hope you use it well
Gotta check out your wheel guy. Those black chrome wheels would look killer on my Camaro.
Sam;s paint job = FML level.
I really enjoyed the complete video a lot ! Great job done 👍👍👍👏🏻👏🏻😀
Thanks!!
Sick sick sick! Good stuff LSC!
Great job, Alex! The P85D looks fantastic! You'd never know Rich or Sam had anything to do with it....:) Love it!
They did use panel bond....
13:15

Doesn’t matter. They will do it anyway.
He would need the VIN to block it wouldn't he?
*straight
3:22 bogan fix is a roof rack to cover it
Make sure to tint those windows
Hey Alex.🖐 Always great to have you as part my my Saturday routine. Love this channel, brother!👌
Looks awesome !
$25,000 sounds insanely expensive for a wreck.
Uh...Tell That To Tavarish ;-) Great Original Score, Alex (& Sam!)
@@dougauzene8389 I would be willing to do that!
Yep. And the repairs will just keep being piled on as it ages. What a waste of money.
The special tool used to pull the dents out was disappointing. I was expecting a cutting-edge, state-of-the-art Tesla-designed electro-mechanical tool...not a puller and a little metal hammer with a pointy tip. LOL! Still, the results were impressive.

Alex you can powder cout plastic papadakis did it on the supra engine head gasket in red color
Love the wheels!
Whoop whoop from Poland! :)
A chrome delete would be better , but other than that it looks amazing
