Randy Meisner Eagles (1946 - 2023) For a while, at the dawn of the 1970s, Randy Meisner looked to be one of California rock's also-rans - a prodigious talent on vocals and bass, he moved up through the ranks of '60s bands and was poised for a big break as a member of Poco, only to exit that band on the eve of the completion of their debut album. He got a second bite of the apple as a member of the Eagles, only to quit in the wake of their biggest album, Hotel California. Born in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, in 1946, Meisner co-founded a band called the Dynamics (later the Drivin' Dynamics) in 1961, in which he served as lead singer and bassist. By late 1962, they'd made their first record, produced and released themselves, which included a rendition of Sam Cooke's "You Send Me," sung by Meisner. In 1966, following three years in which the Dynamics saw their audiences and fandom grow steadily from Nebraska to Oklahoma and Texas, Meisner had left the group to join another Midwestern band called the Soul Survivors, who later moved to Los Angeles and changed their name to the Poor -- their other members included Allen Kemp and Patrick Shanahan. They were a serious enough outfit to attract the attention of the Warner Bros. subsidiary Loma Records and also of the Decca label, both of which released several folk-rock-influenced sides by the Poor without success. By 1968, Meisner had begun moving away from folk-influenced rock and into a more country-oriented vein, following a transition that was sweeping across California. He joined a band that was initially called Pogo, later changed to Poco, organised by Richie Furay and Jim Messina out of the collapse of their earlier band, the Buffalo Springfield. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Subscribe To The Remember This UA-cam Channel Here ► geni.us/RememberThisChannel ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ 💥 History and Nostalgia Channel (20th Century History Documentaries)💥 Welcome to the Remember This UA-cam History and Nostalgia Channel where we discuss thought provoking subject matter from recent the recent past to modern day... get ready for 20th Century History Documentaries content on all things from conspiracy theories to real events and how they shaped our lives. R.I.P. Randy May The Perpetual light shine upon you Randy you are going to be miss sing high with the angels no matter what band Randys in Randys always my favorite I listen to your music since I was 12yrs. old love you 💖
Randy Meisner is one of the great musicians of the 60's and beyond. Love his song "Take It To The Limit" with the Eagles as well as his time with Poco "Call it Love" and his band the Silverados "Hearts on Fire". There are many more songs I love by Randy to many to mention. Randy had a voice like an angel and a great song writer. Forever a Randy Meisner fan.💖
Agree he was so talented and never given proper credit. I wish there would be a biography and re release of his earliest albums. I have One More Song, and Alive In America are terrific! And, Midnight Rain, and Bad man are terrific songs all on Utube. Check them out! Love and miss you Randy…but I’ll always have your music! RIP! 😢
Randy was the Eagles soul. However, correction is needed, my brother Larry created the Dynamics, Randy was 14 years old when he joined our brother’s band. He was dearly loved by our Scottsbluff community. Loved by our family.
I'm a HUGE Eagles fan! Always have been. Love the era when Randy Meisner was in it best! Not to say Timothy B. Schmidt isn't great too? Just a personal preference I guess? Randy's solo career was fantastic too! I love a lot of his first two records after he left The Eagles... ✌
Randy Meisner overcame many challenges in his life, including alcoholism and drug addiction. He was able to overcome these challenges and continue to make music, but they took a toll on his health.
I hate to think of what this beautiful, talented man endured. Wish he could have stayed away from the evil. May he always R.I.P. U R MISSED & LOVED BY SO MANY ❤️💔
@@incognito595 What lies; be specific. It's obvious he suffered health problems, which were difficult for him, but Randy is widely admired for his talent and his character.
Don’t Blame Randy One Little Bit!!! They froze him out anyway. And basically stole his songs unless he agreed for them to keep performing them when he couldn’t for whatever reason. Hell they were pretty much all messed up back then. Most of the young people were. Times were wild and free. Especially if you’re a musician. Everything & Everyone is literally pushed on you. Everyone wants to be with you in any way you want them to. My husband was a musician and all the different guys he played with were married up to 7-8 times. Many times I wanted to throw the towel in. But I wanted my son to be raised with his own Dad!!! Still keeping that marriage alive was the hardest job I’ve ever done.
There is a suspicion, not proven, that artistic people have more tendency to have bipolar disorder, which Randy apparently did. The tendency is to self-medicate with substances, which can take a terrible toll.

I hate that term "naisally tenor". He had a sensational voice!
RIP Glenn Frey & Randy Meisner 🙏
That's certainly not how I would describe Randy's wonderful voice. Lyric tenor maybe.
Why do artist and actors have such an propensity for divorce, mental disease and alcohol...
