Ben, you won't read this but I just wanted to tell you that the FTL soundtrack made the game for me... One minute you're floating through deep space with pleasant ambient music along with the relaxing bleeps of the ship computers and the throaty rumble of the engines ; then all of a sudden, an enemy appears, the battle music kicks in and the relentless thumping of the enemy's missile launchers begins... Its just beautiful. When I look at photos of space, I think of Holst... but when I dream of piloting a ship through space, I think of FTL.
5 years later and the transition into the Last Stand still gives me goosebumps. The break in the music for the alarms and the warp sound effect just reminds me of how daunting it was to face off against the flagship the first time I ever made it that far.
God man. The usage of the Power Surge alarms to add to the rhythm and intensity for last stand, I can almost picture the final battle in my head, the Flagship of the Rebellion, a monstrous beast at the head of a vastly superior fleet, fighting the remnant of the Federation forces across the sector. The Kestrel arriving, rallying the Federation, even as things are looking more and more dire, pockets of resistance and clear space for the Kestrel to repair and rearm between bouts of combat with the Rebel Flagship turn to another red mass, only to obtain victory in the final climactic fight, saving the Federation, saving the future from a xenophobic humanity, and saving the galaxy, from a potential multi-civilization ending threat. But their ideology can always return.
The other day I met a new friend. He happened to mention FTL. So I asked him "What is your favorite FTL remix?" and I knew if he was in the know he would say this one. He did.

Out of all the ost, Rockmen theme has to be one of the best songs in the soundtrack. Really the only upbeat songs, and just shows the absurdity of the battles they get themselves into. Like, why would this pile of rocks punch me in the face? Why is a pile of rocks alive?
It could've been nice to see some environments through the window. I know that's notthe point, but a sun during the rockmen theme and a side view of the flaghsip in the last stand could have been neat (and not too hard to impliment) Anyway, great music! Good job on remixing it.

I especially love your use the "power surge detected" noise to accentuate just the right moments. On a side note, I find your logo/face adorable and how it animates and wiggles and is SO HAPPY.
