On the other hand, the best topic for a video is something you’re passionate about right now. It doesn’t have to be advanced. The perfect situation is if you can reach an audience who are on the same level as you are. So they can learn from you and you can learn from them.
It’s hard to find novel topics if you want to review retro stuff. On the other hand, the real tinkering videos are not finite. Writing software for old computers, creating new hardware to extend them, etc. making bridges with modern technology. But I understand, that’s kinda different topic
Yeah, I have a tendency to sound a little harsh when I'm talking without a script and don't have a lot of time to think about what I'm saying, so I'm intentionally not calling out specific things I see on UA-cam, but those would be examples of things that I feel like are for a really specific and slightly different audience. I admittedly think about retro tech from different fields differently (computers vs. home audio, for example), and maybe that's a topic in itself for another video.
