When in Thailand, I'm always wearing these convertible cargo pants that you can transform into bermudas and back in a few seconds. Very handy when you want to visit temples, not only sky bars 😁
I stayed at Lebua in 2010 (pre Hangover movie). The room came with 2 free drink vouchers. Whilst up at the Sky Bar I met a lovely Thai couple who insisted on buying me drinks… so I had an amazing time at that super classy spot! I’ll never return as i can’t outdo that memory!

Thats too bad about the mansion, its a marvel of design. But that skybar is first rate. been one time, before i met Jib ;-) the pricing was painful. LoL I hope tomorrow gives you a break and doesn't require late nights and over consumption 555.

I’ve had dinner at the restaurant there - Sirocco. 10,000 baht including wine but I loved it. If you need to impress a special lady its a great place.
So many amazing rooftop bars in Bangkok, but my personal highlight was the Thai policeman at 2:23
I love how there are rooftop patios absolutely everywhere in Bangkok!
Last time I was in Bangkok was in 2019. Visited the rooftop bar of Banngkok Marriott Hotel Suhkumvit and it was great one of the highlights of my stay that trip. Also the drinks and food was reasanoble I feel.

I prefer Moon Bar on top of the Banyan Trees Hotel in Sathorn.
The same thing happened to me when visiting Bangkok in 2018: I tried to visit the Vimanmek Mansion, it took me about 30 minutes of walking along these very long boulevards, being the only pedestrian there and surrounded by cars, before I could find something that would like an entrance to it; and I was told by a security guard that it was closed. Too bad!
Wish I was able to explore it!

Labua skybar, was there just before global lockdowns and was epic and able to get to the bar.
We had a fantastic sunset @Mahanakhon Bangkok Skybar this summer a night to remember.

The beer is 90 baht with 7% vat excluded. Totally 1 beer is 90 baht x 7% vat equals 96.3 baht x 2 = 192.6 baht round up 193 in total

The most money I’ve ever spent in my life is at Mezzaluna restaurant at the Dome and Sky Bar at Lebua @ state tower (same building) I don’t regret it.

I walked past this when I was working at my travel agent on the BTS Sapan Taksin. But never been on the Palate. Looks nice and cosy I like it.

Hi Chris,i love your channel. My theory is that beers (and many other things) cost odd numbers of baht so you have lots of change in your pockets to give people living on the streets. I lived in Thailand for two years. Its just my little theory. Im happy to do it.

another good one Chris. . street food, cold beer and rooftop. miss it all. . rooftops bars are a must when i go around in big cities Asian countries.. someone has an outstanding view. but unfortunately overpriced. I was at this Labua the second year they opened, decent prices then... but then the movie came out, the prices skyrocketed.
But bars like Tichuca Rooftop Bar - Octave Rooftop Lounge & Bar - Sky on 20 - The Speakeasy Rooftop Bar - Above Eleven - Yào Rooftop Bar. is my 6 best bars on top :) ohhh need to travel SAP.. . thanks for a good video again . 15, bring it on.. :)

Enjoyed this one. I went to seven Bangkok rooftop bars in June - nine if you count Mahanakhon and Baiyoke 2. I did the ones at State Tower a few times back in 2000s. To me, there are many better. I love Hi-So, Belga, Char, Vanilla Sky and Octave (or Tichuca next door).

I went there in May at might this year and the mixed drinks were 7,800 bhat and the other option was 11,480 baht
You can get a night in a pretty nice hotel for that money 😮
octave rooftop lounge & bar in Bangkok is nice place 👍🏻
Should add Cielo Skybar at the corner of sukhumvit 71 at W district ( which is a place with nice international and Thai food stalls)

Good suggestion, buddy. We've done the lower level sky bars there but never the posh ones like this. However, we heard good things about Seen, and so since it made your Top 7 list, we figure that we might check it out when we're there in December and January. (Oh, and nice getting recognized by the Thai subscribers, isn't it? That's because of all the good things you've done for the people there. Dude!)
I honestly prefer the lower level one's man. More my cup of tea...

You can rent pants on the first floor of the building. If I remember right the drinks are like 2000 baht each.
Drinks are very expensive
Octave gives better value for your money but then again not as epic a view of the river.
Octave is solid. I also really like A-Bar in Phrom Phong. A great place to enjoy some gin and sodas…
Sky bars are my all time favorite thing in Bangkok and this city has the best selection in the world. This would have been higher on Rick’s top 25.
Yesir, BKK has some of the best sky bars on Earth. They've dialled it in like nowhere else I've been to!

Been there a few times great view but pricey. Had a meal last time the chefs taster menu, which was great but cost over THB20,000 for 2. Save such treats for Chiang Mai and Blackitch one of your previous recommendations, which I followed. Great ambience Food just as good as Lebua at a considerably lower price.

Try the Marriott around Sukhumvit 52. They have a fun and happening sky bar on the 62-64th floor. Dress code is casual but proper attire. The music is happening, the view is amazing, the seating is comfortable but it’s not cheap. Two entrées, 1 bottled water and a Margarita 1900B

I went there in 2019 and I purposely left my big backpack at the airport to go for a walk. I was asked to leave my small backpack on the ground floor but I refused because there was my camera and my papers and lots of other things. So they refused to let me go up. I made the trip from the airport on purpose and I was ready to pay dearly (I know the prices of drinks) and I was refused entry! I'm really mad at them and I would never go to them!

Shout out to Chizuru! ❤🇯🇵 I went to Sky Bar once when I first moved here and haven’t been back since it’s so $$$, though it’s worth going once! Hilarious episode changing into pants on the street. 😂 Always check the dress code before going up to these rooftop bars as I’m rocking shorts and flip-flops most of the time so I need to plan ahead if the evening takes me to one of these spots! Cheers!

I up there in 2017... and damn this is expensive.
To be honest, I like the one on the Banyan Tree most.
