Thank you for the information sir. Prior to watching your video I called American Muscle and spoke to a gentleman that told me that I’m unable to use their Tune for life program, even if my device (that I purchased from a friend who unmarried it from his vehicle) can’t be unmarried from another vehicle and use their tunes.
Aye I’m late but I need some help bro I can’t program it to my care I can’t do anything everything says error I have it unlocked it’s in married it’s 5 unlocks etc as if it’s new my car is supported I looked but I can’t figure it out man
Hey. So I bought my mustang gt and it came with a sct x4. It says the device is married to my vehicle but when I try to return to stock it says it’s already married to another vehicle. Any help?
so every time it is in the shop and they plug in their reader, it sends the vehicle back to stock , but not the SCT x4, and I would have to return it to stock and reprogram it. So your telling me I can only do that 5 times, the I have to pay? even if I did it prior to putting in shop , it is getting unmarried each time? great video ,..thanks by the way
Plugging in their reader wouldn’t return your vehicle back to stock, they would have to reflash your ECM which they shouldn’t be doing without your permission. Either way, the X4 is paired to the truck’s VIN number so it should be unlimited unless you unmarried it for your truck and go to another. The only issue I could see is if your truck is tuned by the X4, and then the shop returns to stock, the X4 may be confused since the last flash was tuning your truck.
@@BSD_Productions Thanks so much! Yes, I called SCT and that's basically what they said , you actually made it sound a little simpler or in layman's terms. So I will ask shop if they flashed it, but probably not. Thanks again
Tuning newbie here... Just discovered my SCT BDX tuner is broken. Yes it's out of warranty. I need to return my vehicle to stock before taking it in to the dealership for some service. Would purchasing a new BDX tuner return it to stock, since it would be a different unit?
So you may have a couple options. This has happened to me before, and I was able to contact SCT to get the stock tune. 2nd option, which probably won’t work for you since you’re wanting it back to stock for service assuming the vehicle is under warranty. But have the dealer return it to stock. Next time make sure you save the stock tune to your PC to avoid this. Lesson learned.
@@BSD_Productions I might have the stock tune saved to my laptop, but the laptop is fried. I was trying to update my tuner. I had my SCT plugged into vehicle OBDII, then I plugged my laptop into the USB thats on OBDII cable.. I'm thinking I ran 12 volts thru my laptop. Hopefully I can pull the hard drive out and recover the stock tune. Thx for the reply!
I've had an X4 laying around from my old car, got a new car, apparently it's compatible, went to plug it in, communication error... ok, i'll go do the firmware since the X4 is older than the new car (18 ecoboost mustang). Went to do the firmware update, that took a minute, after which it started doing tune updates... 5030 of them. FML... lol
@@BSD_Productions spoiler alert, failed because of comm errors 6 hrs later... apparently theres a cr2032 battery inside, and a microsd card that may come loose... if you have sct fix em, they want 100 bucks to change the battery and put the microsd card back in... after changing the battery i did another 6 hour round and finally got it to update... apparently most problems (freezing or comm errors) are traced to either the battery being weak or the micro sd card popping out...
Can they not turn it off within the tune? I had to sent my TS in for service and they updated it etc. I have the EGR turned off, but it’s within the tune.
The only way to do that is to have SCT reset the device for a fee. By doing that you won’t be able to return the other vehicle to stock unless you go to the dealership.
@@BSD_Productions thank you for the reply. I’m planning on selling the other vehicle with the tune on it. But I guess it would be better to sell the tuner with it.
I would not normally subscribe to these types of subjects but you were so nice and humble 😊
Why thank you! 🥹

Mine doesn't even have the option to see this.
Thanks heaps mate

SCT’s customer support is pretty good, you’ll have to hit them up.
I do know it may not work properly if voltage is low or the OBD2 cord is messed up.
How can I unmarry the sct x4 ? Without the vehicle it was married to?
You have to contact SCT. They can do it remotely for a fee.
How can I know if my SCT X4 has a preloaded tunes or custom tunes?
You can download the free software onto your computer and then plug your device in and see.

This was great information!! Thank you so much
You’re very welcome!
Mine says “unpaired” is that the same thing?
Yes
In this video, is you x4 updated to turn of egr? I'm just trying to compare firmware version numbers
I honestly couldn’t tell you since it was one of the ones I was selling. It was updated before it was sold too.
@@BSD_Productions thanks

My favorite part is when it’s 2000-3000 in and it freezes so you have to start over.... 😒 Lol

I didn’t know that, I have one in my garage with a comm error and won’t do anything else. I’ll have to look into that!
I need an old tuner so I can turn off the Egr. I have a Livewire Ts and it’s been updated.
Are you not running a custom tune?
@@BSD_Productions yeah I’m running custom tunes. And I have a SCT Livewire Ts tuner.

Can you unmarry it from the previous vehicle without removing the tune on it?

I’d definitely send the tuner with it if it’s staying tuned. And no problem!
Saving the stock data takes fucking forever.... I think this company is shit mate
I’ve had other companies and they all seem to take a while. SCT, BullyDog, Hondata, Banks, and so on.
Hey I have question why my tuned sct I don’t why When I want to do an update, it throws me that error and that code 1108b
