Actually critics were more infactuated with M.I.A. and many even told her to drop Diplo. He was instrumental in making her hit song Paper planes but M.I.A. was always the centerpiece of the both of them.
Well look who's still topping the charts with his Jack Ü, LSD, Major Lazer and Silk City projects while M.I.A has become pretty irrelevant apart from one feature on a Travis Scott song where everyone complained about her being on the song bc she didn't deliver...

Seriously one of the most creative and innovative artists in the genre(s). I'm classically trained and I know a good musician when I see one. He just happens to use contemporary instruments to melt different awesome elements together. So underrated!
