Agreed. The little animated interstitials were kind of cute, and even the jokey words popping up (emulsion blender, FAIL, etc), but all of the little emoji-style stuff was just way too much and distracting. Hope they tone it down for future releases.

Hi Mike! I've been watching since you and Josh did the college lunch series in the NYC apartment. I'm a huge fan of the 15 minute meals! As a bit of very VERY humble feedback (you've worked your a** off for a very long time to manage a very successful channel and I'm nothing but a South American home cook), I feel the quick-cuts and tiktok vibe in the video makes it a lot harder to follow (both while cooking and when just trying to get the idea behind the recipe by watching the video) I think the level of detail you gave in your sandwich series or even the college meals series was a lot more inspiring to home cooks and people that never touched a saucepan. Anyways, love your content! Thanks for sharing this with all of us

I absolutely love your videos. Just adding my 2cents. I know this 15mins series is all about fast and simple and the editing style is probably trying to reflect that, but.... I'm watching these as a hyper stressed mommy, trying to drag myself out of bad cooking habits, and a slower editing style helps my brain take in more information. Images that move too fast makes me want to click off. But still love the channel!!!!!

My absolute favorite thing about your videos is how you impart good, concise information without the unnecessary "Tiktok BANG POW" overlays. We are here for you, your food, and your down-to-earth style. It is the reason I like you over people like Joshua Weissman. You focus on the food and the techniques. Not the bullshit.

Yep, 90% of the time I prefer to read my information since I can get what I need without a bunch of extra annoying stuff. TikTok has made the trend of blah engagement bait worse, maybe attention spans are even shorter than 5 years ago? Anyway- there are a handful of youtube channels that actually give concise information with minimal distractions, occasional humor, and reliable relatability.

@@sebastianaristegui1397 The soup is Texmex. I know were the first tortilla soup was served and it was in Texas. The tostada is from Baja. The egg dish I will try but I would not call it Huevos Ranchero. What makes it Huevos Ranchero is the Ranchero sauce. Salsa doesn't make it Huevos Rancheros.

I also enjoy watching the videos as my daughter (17) will sit with me and we watch you together. (you will understand what this means to have a 17-year-old sit with you on the couch, later in life) Buddy, you got almost 4 million subscribers because of your clear no-nonsense style and likeable personality. Your practicality and to the point style won me over. Please drop the animations and go careful with the advertising of the store. Once in a while, okay, but this has been coming for many videos now and this one here was rather extreme. I bought a dough scraper a few months ago. Is super helpful when cooking, i use it to get the cut stuff of my cutting board. ~€15 are totaly worth it.
5:26 I got rid of all coated pans and only cook in metal pans. they are quite cheap and after buring them in they are so nice to use

Omg 😂😂😂. You were extra funny today! And extra extra clumsy LOL. I love your videos so much. I have been watching them since your brother was making how to live on five cents a week. Those were so epic. You should do some up to date poverty videos for the coming of age poor peeps. Peace and love, my friend.

Kinda "Camarones al mojo de ajo", but I liked this quick tostada meal!
Tortilla soup, adding just some chipotle and cubes of fetta or panela cheese... yummy!
Those crack eggs... interesting! I will try them!

Hi Mike, I had a dish idea:
I made a Veggie-ovenpan with red onions, peas, carrots, corn, cherry tomatos and potatos.
First I fried the onions in garlic butter until translucent.
Tossed in the potatos until slighty crispy in coconut oil and thyme ( deglassed the cast iron with the oil, before tatts).
    Then liqudised the tomatos.
Mixed in a bit of cream cheese ( Frischkäse).
Finished with peas, carrrots and corn.
Topped off with a layer of cheese on residual heat.
Try it out, if yu like. Can't give you an estimated time, because I was cooking by eyeball. First chopped onions, whilst they where cooking, I managed the Tatters. Continued with the tomatos. And then looked for what could fit in the fridge and pantry, while they were steaming.
Wish your fam a wonderful weekend.

"..roasted tomatoes with, oh, you son of a..." Sounds like me in the kitchen all the time! In all seriousness, when I get in a hurry, I fling avocadoes, try to pick up hot pans, etc. At some point, you decide, "Ok, I'll take 16 minutes to make this instead of 15." I love that you grow and produce some of your own veggies and eggs (and maybe chicken). I do the same, minus the chickens, as we're not allowed to have them in my neighborhood.

I remember watching you and Josh many years ago. Your videos was so wholesome back then. Especially one clip with Josh smoking a chillum and playing Mario cart while you guys ate was so great. I still enjoy and learn a lot (maybe even more than before) from your videos, but man back then it really hit with a different, chill and wholesome vibe. I guess we all grow up tho, and I hope Josh did too and that he is well :)

Definitely not traditional Mexican but something I have learned over the years is food can be fun to try new ingredients in old recipes. With that being said there are staples to ethnic foods. Good job on creating Mexican style dishes I'll have to try the soup and the tortilla with the hole in it. I would suggest using the hole to scrape up the yolk when it drips.

As a Mexican I have to say that is not a tostada, you need deep fried to make a tortilla to a tostadq

Oh nooo! LOL I love your videos, and I very rarely have anything bad to say. And this is just more of a "pick" than anything, promise. But 2 garlic cloves for garlic shrimp? 😲I would use at least 6! Even though this is Mexican food, I can hear Uncle Roger's voice in my head saying, "Use the right amount, not the white amount." 🤣 I'm just teasing though. I love you! Use whatever amount tastes good to you (and that goes for anyone else reading this). Continue...

Sorry Josh…but in the late 60s/early 70s, we had a Betty Crocker cookbook for kids which had “campfire eggs” that we loved to make. Hole in buttered bread, and crack the egg into the center as the bread toasts, then flip. We’d use the cut and grilled circles to dip into the runny eggs. Yummmmmm
