never reduce sodium. your body requires it. instead just take cell salts nat mur or nat sulp or you can get bioplasma made by hylands. use sea salt only and take a seaweed supplement for iodine. your body is not using the sodium in your diet if your sodium levels are too high. just eat whole foods and stay away from msg and other additives.
I've always loved cooking, but as a single guy never really cooked for myself much as it felt like a lot for just me. Now that I'm in a relationship, and have been cooking for my girlfriend and trying new recipes, your channel and the videos on it have become incredibly invaluable to me! Thanks for helping me get better in the kitchen and inspiring me to cook outside of the box.
I’ve found that cooking really nice things for yourself in a way that is sustainable with a somewhat busy lifestyle is more about having a lot of pre-prepped stuff that’s easy to batch cook and still delicious. Think pickled red onions, pre-cooked (or par cooked) chicken thigh chunks (Ethan Chabowski has a good video on this), coriander chutney, spiced, roasted chickpeas. When you have enough of these things it makes chucking together a genuinely great lunch or dinner much easier. Keep lots of fresh aromatics, herbs and vegetables to hand with a bit of dairy and some easy going meats (or alternatives) and you’re never more than 30 minutes away from something that is delicious, feels special, and is healthy.
What I love about your videos is that you don't give out instructions like a cookbook, rather you explain principles and provide ideas on how we can customize our meals to our taste. A big thank you for your videos, I was inspired from you to customize your dishes and improvise new recipes just by watching your videos. I love how you bring a fresh twist to recipes that I already made in the past. Much love from Romania.
More 15-minute breakfast ideas!! This series came at a perfect time. My mom and I were just talking about being more committed to meal prep, especially for breakfast. Eating out is becoming very expensive, especially with a family of five! Thanks so much for the content 🙂
My thing has been the health benefits of eating at home, yes it’s more time consuming but it’s cheaper but waay healthier, I’ve lost 40 lbs in the past four months by stopping the fast food and forgoing sugars, I’ve literally not worked out one time but I’m now introducing workouts to promote an even healthier diet
Try breakfasts from around the world. Try Palestinian Foul, the rice breakfasts from Japan, the noodle breakfasts from China/Asia, what they do with hummus in Israel in the morning, etc.
@@chanlercrawford8813 Not sure if you’re still looking for easy breakfast meals, some easy Hispanic meals that I grew up eating for breakfast are sincronizadas (basically a fried tortilla sandwich with ham and cheese), huevo con papas (egg with potatoes), huevo con tortillas (egg with tortillas), and chilaquiles (fried tortillas with salsa, onions, cheese, and maybe shredded chicken). Huevo con papas and chilaquiles take longer than 15 minutes to prepare, but still less than half an hour, and it’s easy to bulk it up so you’re making multiple servings at the same time. Not sure if this is a Hispanic thing or just my parents, but I also had tuna & green bean omelettes a lot growing up.
Banana pancakes FTW! this seriously changed my life. i’ve been making pancakes for years, always following a recipe and measuring quantities. Your method of wet and adding dry until it feels/looks right is what i’ve been missing. and banana as the sweet element is genius. thank you Mike!

Im so happy for you man. It must be so uplifting to find that your new found passion is actually fixing basically all your problems in day to day life. Stick with it :D
Been making banana pancakes since my first child was old enough to eat them (about 51 yrs ago). So happy you’re promoting them. I’ve also added quick oats to the batter for a bit of texture.
Those pancakes can be made even easier. Blend oats in a blender until flowery, then add banana and milk and blend again. Can add the fruits when you fry them, but they're also good without and just a little icing sugar on top. The second dish can be made thinner and wider and is called raggmunk here in Sweden, but instead of the sauerkraut, you use lingonberry jam for the tanginess! Also sidenote, finally an American using cheddar that isn't orange LOL
I appreciate the fact he's transparent and also slightly messy, as any home cook would be. Nobody likes plastic flowers as they say, so the honest, down to earth approach to cooking makes it refreshingly wholesome in my opinion. Well done.
I have a banana and blueberry pancake recipe that my mom used to make me. The kind of recipe that you need to have a bowl with dry ingredients etc, with many steps... Your pancakes are so easy to make and good!! Don't tell my mom, but I'll never make her recipe again. 😅
I've watched you off and on over my entire homestead transition to keep things a little closer to home. From baking my own sourdough, fermenting my own kraut, and trying to keep things spicy in the kitchen and your videos always add great value to my simple little life. Next on my list is getting my own chickens. I already have a small food farm. I'm definitely making those pancakes with my son. If I had a youtube channel, I'd probably do the exact same type of videos. I would never want to be a personality on tv, but I enjoy your personality. Thank you for contributing to my kitchen life. These banana pancakes will be perfect for my baby. Her pancake obsession is REAL. I started following you when I first found out I was pregnant about 2 years ago, it used to be an in joke that I cooked everything out of the microwave 🥴 The amount of compliments I get on my cooking now is crazy, and I don't feel so guilty about what I'm putting in my body or my baby's 💕
Your honesty is the best! When something doesn’t work out perfectly you just keep on rolling, it’s awesome. Please keep this series going! Cant wait to try these recipes out.
Love the pancakes, will definitely incorporate these in my menu, thanks!. Pro tip that I inherited from my mom - right after frying a pancake on a small (!) amount of neutral oil (grapeseed, corn, etc), pin a small cube of butter with a fork and smear it a bit over the pancake while that's still hot. Don't overdo it, just make a few passes to lightly coat the surface with butter. Takes regular pancakes to level awesome, especially thin crepes.
Ohhh thanks for diversifying the 15 min series! I feel like quick meals are the best, but making them delicious and nutritious can be challenging, so thanks for the help ✨😊

Just made the banana pancakes and I don’t think I’ll ever go back to making regular pancakes again. These were sooooo good! And I love how easy it was to make too. For us, we found each banana makes 2 pancakes.
Ok, I made the veggie frittata this morning and I got to say I was skeptical it would actually be 15 minutes. But it was! And it was delicious. Thank you so much for the great recipe!!
These blueberry pancakes actually did change my life. 🤤 Salting the hash browns and draining them? THANK YOU I recently transitioned to working from home. I have a wife and 3 kids and your channel has seriously kickstarted a new level of cooking for me. I've made a bunch of your recipes now. Dutch baby is another life changer. You da man!
one of my favorite quick breakfasts is a tofu egg scramble with rice and some veg on the side. The rice obviously takes longer than 15 minutes, but I put the rice cooker on as soon as I get up and go do other things until I'm ready to start on the rest of the breakfast.
Thank you for FINALLY teaching me how to make just a "normal" stovetop oatmeal - I've only ever learned how to do quick oats in a microwave or baked/overnight oats and this looks SO much more appealing than those other methods!
We tried the pancakes and they turned out great. Recommend adding a bit of salt. We used almond flour, which didn't turn out ideal but next time will probably go with a 50-50 mix of almond flour and something else. We also tried the frittata and took Mike's recommendation seriously to draw down on any leftovers in the fridge. We made ours with leftover cooked chorizo and a whole lot of mushrooms that were overdue for use. We didn't have a frypan that could go in the oven so we used a Dutch oven. The end product was really spectacular. Looking at the oatmeal recipe makes me want to try that next, which is remarkable because I hate oatmeal...
My husband makes these banana pancakes! Our son shovels them into his mouth. They are perfectly sweet and so simple. It’s amazing how many recipes you can replace with banana.
You have inspired me so much. I love your approach to cooking. I’m learning how to eat healthy and make better choices and now I have some breakfast options in it arsenal. Breakfast has always been a issue for me. I struggled to find some healthier breakfast options. Yogurt and oatmeal can be so boring. But I love your options and ideas and I can’t wait to try these. Thanks so much. And yeah…more breakfast recipes would be fantastic! 👍🏼😁😍
I literally never leave comments on UA-cam but I come back to these pancakes so often. I have been adding protein powder and the kids just LOVE them. So much faster than banana bread - so filling. Thank you!
Oooh love how you do the frittata! I saw that on the list and thought no way are you doing that in 15 minutes! I love doing these for a weekend meal because it takes about 40 minutes to bake it entirely in the oven. Thanks for sharing your secret!
If you use water instead of milk on omelettes and frittata, then it'll come out lighter and fluffier. Milk with the egg is better for pancake/waffle style foods as they usually include a rising agent help make the fluff.
No joke. These 15 minute meals have changed my life. I’m only four days in but I have made a delicious and nutritious meal for moi, party of one three times a day. Cooking for me solo has never been my jam. I tried “meal prep” in the past and always ended up with waste. Tossing more than half of whatever it was three weeks later. I’m also blessed with a brain that grasps whole systems but fails miserably to follow any specific directions. So the throwing stuff together in an artful and specific but not too specific way works so great for me. I’ve also eaten more veggies and more variety this week than probably the previous whole month. I prefer hot meals and this channel is absolute platinum. 🙏🏻🙏🏻 😗👌
So recently I've discovered that if you cook your hashbrowns in a waffle iron they come out a perfectly crunchy, golden brown texture! Its been my go to breakfast for like 2 months now because you can start it and sort of walk away.
I usually abstain from fritatas because they always stick to the pan and I can never really get it right. Looks like I'm definitely not using nearly enough oil. Thanks Mike!
I tried today and used what seemed like a lot of oil, and it still stuck to the pan. Was using a stainless steal pan. May try my seasoned cast iron next.
that oatmeal is basically my go to breakfast every weekday: porridge with mixed dried fruit (comes with citrus zest in) and a load of fresh nutmeg, takes like 5-6 mins (obviously fresh toppings are better than dried fruit but it's an extra step and i can't deal with that at 6am)
Oatmeal is my to go as well. I will start putting honey in it instead of sugar and I sometimes am worried my fruit will go bad and I completely forgot I can put it in my oatmeal !!
The title of this video is not wrong! Those pancakes have changed my life! I've tried other "healthy" pancake recipes before and they are usually pretty terrible but after watching you make these on several videos, I was inspired to try them. This morning we had one overripe banana leftover that I knew no-one was going to eat so thought I would make a small batch of this recipe to test out. Talk about easy! My GF flour had gone a bit off so I just used regular AP and they were still amazing. Totally delicious, fluffy, tender and just sweet enough that you don't need to add any syrup, especially with blueberries added. I got 6 pancakes from my one banana and shared them with my husband who also loved them, I am certain my kids will too. The recipe needs a pinch of salt, which I think you do in the video but isn't listed on the website and next time I will probably put in a little splash of vanilla for depth, but there will absolutely be a next time. I'm going to pick up some fresh GF flour and also some Oat Flour for next time. Guilt free, healthy and delicious pancakes finally! This recipe is a Total Winner!
Can we talk about how you started your own egg farm and grew your own figs? I would love to know more about how you started that and how you maintain it
Hi there. My good lady wife is allergic to egg. I’ve made more eggless pancakes than I care to mention and for anyone else with an egg allergy, bananas are a great egg replacement. I’ve used plain flour to thicken, and milk for the liquid part, and it makes English pancakes/crepes perfectly well. I don’t know the ratios because I always wing it. I recommend you try because it’s easy and a great way of having pancakes when you have a glut of bananas and no eggs. Love your channel. Thank you for your time, expertise, care, love, and attention ❤
Yes!!! More 15 min meals. I'm even ok with 30 min meals. But 72 hour bread is pushing it for me lol. I absolutely hate trying to come up with ideas. I love smoothie bowls, but always make the same one, frozen strawberries, frozen blueberries, fresh pineapple, fresh banana and some granola on top. I'd love some different flavor options. I always rotate the same 3 things for breakfast and rarely veer from them, oatmeal, eggs, and smoothie bowl. I cook my oatmeal (steel cut oats) in the microwave for 5 min with water then add a banana, walnuts, cinnamon, honey, and yogurt to up the protein.
Not sure if you've done this yet, but I would appreciate watching a property tour of your garden and chicken coup! I love that you're doing the homesteading thing, it's inspiring!
Oh my goodness, I enjoyed this video a ton. He is the perfect personality for teaching in this format, excellent communicator, funny, natural and really down to earth.
Made the pancakes this morning for my son and I and they were yummy! It was also super easy to get him involved in the cooking process since it wasn’t a fussy recipe. We will definitely keep these in our breakfast rotation! Thanks ☺️
I watched this episode two years ago. This pancake recipe has changed my life. Seriously. I make it at least 3 times a week for my kids. So easy and healthy. ❤
That's what cooking is all about, folks. Shouldn't get so hung up on a direct recipe with exacting measurements. It's a feel, and it's what you have available. You shouldn't starve because you don't have oat flour. If you have regular oatmeal, grind it in a food processor to make your own flour. And if you have whole almonds, grind some of that to make almond flour and mix some of that in your pancake mixture. Need I go on? Be creative. Now give this guy a THUMBS UP!!!
The fritta would be so easy to prep by slicing your vegg the night before ! Would you ever consider making a Low FODMAP series? Would love to see your take on it
I'm interested in your sourdough loaf, did you just do your "15 mistake beginner sourdough bakers make" recipe but in a loaf pan? Or did you modify it somewhat?
Don’t leave that sign in your yard!!!!! Just wanted to warn you that telling possible intruders which system you use makes it very easy for them to tap into your system. People will target houses with a security sign over one without because of this sometimes. Stay safe ❤️
When you haven't ate for 8 hours, the next 4 til lunch your body is going to feel them hard. Unfortunately you don't feel them because human Appétit takes a long time to awaken. But try eating breakfast to awake your stomach then don't eat for 12 hours
I've tried a few banana pancake recipes but WOW, I made these today and they are far and away the best I've ever had. My kids loved them too. Thank you!
I make my kids old fashioned oats in the microwave (super time saver). I just cover the oats and a handful of raisins with water and cook for 2:22 (easiest way to start microwave). Then I add nut milk to thin out. It works perfectly and is sweet enough without any sugar. You can add nuts or cinnamon or whatever. Love the show.
A 1/1 ratio of peanut butter to maple syrup on the banana pancake is DELICIOUS. I’ve been making the pancakes for months now and that’s my favorite topping by far because bananas and peanut butter taste great together.
I couldn't eat oatmeal for 20+ years. When I found out about soaking overnight, it allowed me to be able to metabolize oatmeal again. It's not just trendy. Thanks for being real.
I made the banana pancakes tonight for supper and they were incredibly good! My partner loves bananas so he really love them. I made them with half oat flour and half almond flour. Next time I'm going to add a bit of cinnamon. Thank you Mike.

Thank you!
This was awesome. You’re a cook I would have fun cooking with. Thanks for making this so fun.
Add egg to the potato hash pancakes to make them more durable, also I implore you to use the smash-burger technique.
Oooh love how you do the frittata! I saw that on the list and thought no way are you doing that in 15 minutes! I love doing these for a weekend meal because it takes about 40 minutes to bake it entirely in the oven. Thanks for sharing your secret!
I've never been a cooking fan. I've always cooked out of necessity. Thank you for reigniting a love for cooking in me. These recipes are a godsend.
If you use water instead of milk on omelettes and frittata, then it'll come out lighter and fluffier.
Milk with the egg is better for pancake/waffle style foods as they usually include a rising agent help make the fluff.
Awwww... She's adorable!! Congrats!!! Thank you for all your recipes!
Inspiring me to make a frittata! Not sure why I don't. I do oats, hash and pancakes a lot. Gonna treat myself this weekend!
OMG! Love your videos!
My husband got me to watch of your videos and I'm now hooked. Thank you so much for the ideas! Love the kitchen.
that oatmeal is basically my go to breakfast every weekday: porridge with mixed dried fruit (comes with citrus zest in) and a load of fresh nutmeg, takes like 5-6 mins (obviously fresh toppings are better than dried fruit but it's an extra step and i can't deal with that at 6am)

Merry Christmas, subscribe to the channel, please, you will enjoy my channel, thanks.
Not sure if you've done this yet, but I would appreciate watching a property tour of your garden and chicken coup! I love that you're doing the homesteading thing, it's inspiring!
Absolutely loving the 15 minute meals - they look amazing and I love the customisable side and nutritional value! Please do keep them coming ♥️🙏
I’d love to see more gluten free recipes!
I used gluten free rice flour for the pancakes. Turned out amazing 💯
These 15 minute meals are amazing!! You are so skilled and creative with the ingredients!
May we have another 15 minute breakfast video please?
but simple!! That's what I love!
The mason jar lid for the potatoes was ingenious. These videos are incredible. Thank you!
The fritta would be so easy to prep by slicing your vegg the night before ! Would you ever consider making a Low FODMAP series? Would love to see your take on it

The frittata is so easy!! Thank you! I started buying groceries specifically for your recipes.
I'm interested in your sourdough loaf, did you just do your "15 mistake beginner sourdough bakers make" recipe but in a loaf pan? Or did you modify it somewhat?
Need more 15 minute breakfasts! Love the content ty
Don’t leave that sign in your yard!!!!! Just wanted to warn you that telling possible intruders which system you use makes it very easy for them to tap into your system. People will target houses with a security sign over one without because of this sometimes. Stay safe ❤️

"Breakfast is the most important meal" is one of the biggest health myths of all time.
Anyway, nice recipe, mate.
agreed, all the food you put into your body is equally important
Honestly my life with two meals a day has been so good
@@octopus8420 Same here! I'm skipping breakfast and drinking lots of coffee and water in the morning then a strong lunch and a light dinner.
When you haven't ate for 8 hours, the next 4 til lunch your body is going to feel them hard. Unfortunately you don't feel them because human Appétit takes a long time to awaken. But try eating breakfast to awake your stomach then don't eat for 12 hours
@@octopus8420 2 meals a day can work. I make one of mine breakfast or brunch.
You are right. These pancakes changed my life. Thank you
that breakfast oat looks amazing..fresh, healthy, filling
My two toddlers and I LOVE the blueberry banana pancakes! My older one loves to help me make them too!
OMG the banana pancakes changed my life. So delicious! Thank you!
Wow - love the tip to use my juicer for making almond milk! Thank you!
I made these quick. It totally replaced my old recipe. These are great. I love this guy’s style. Thanks man!!!
Just made these pancakes and coffee this morning. I don't feel horrible after eating them! I'll be adding this to my toolbox. Thank you!!
I made the banana pancakes tonight for supper and they were incredibly good! My partner loves bananas so he really love them. I made them with half oat flour and half almond flour. Next time I'm going to add a bit of cinnamon. Thank you Mike.
Nice ones everyone can customize according to what they have available at hand too. Thanks.
