- A root canal is a way to save the tooth. It's essentially mummifying the tooth (taking away the inside, dying, diseased tissue). If you need a root canal, at some point, the tooth will reach a point where it will irreversibly become inflamed and will die. If it's not removed, the body will try to expel the tooth, which can result in abscesses, massive infections, and even death. A root canal preserves the tooth so that the body recognizes it as any other tooth (and doesn't try to begin the process of expelling it).

Seldom leave comments but am repeatedly reassured by Dr Burhenne's advice. Lost large part of tooth of a filled premolar during lockdown and it seemed I'd have to have an implant. Not keen on the procedure but most professional advice says implant healthier option (but might need bone graft too!) Just saw another dentist - high quality x-rays showed solid tooth base so he recommened root treatment. Was worried this was a dangerous procedure. So glad to have found this video. Grateful!
My dentist wants to do a root canal and crown on a front tooth. I have zero pain currently. A second opinion dentist said it needs a filling. I want to ask my regular dentist if he would do the filling. I’m really anxious about this. I do not want to do a root canal on a front tooth.
I had a root canal procedure and they cleaned out my tooth and "fixed" it but it still hurts. It doesn't have a contact pain like it used to but I can't wiggle it or chew on it, is this normal? They gave me antibiotics and they didn't help at all. I would really like to see what a different dentist has to say about this. Thanks!
i had my upper right wisdom tooth removed and i was woundering what is the massage you are talking about and what is a dry soket..?
A root canal is expensive and insurance doesnt cover it.in fact ins. doesnt cover anything dental.Scam dentist.
