Don't be afraid to go on your way Journey there's nothing wrong with it just do it you're going to feel so much better it doesn't matter how you do it long as you do it. This morning I even got up and walked around my backyard I have a big backyard I walked around that backyard 10 times I was so tired but I say I'm going to do this every morning because I am going to keep this weight down because yes I have the gastric bypass I really didn't have to eat different I just had to eat less and I still don't eat cakes I don't care when I try I get so sick so it's a lot of things if you do something like that that you will not be able to eat anymore only thing it is is not like being on a diet it's just changing the way you eat take care of yourself love you can do it just saying.

I had gastric bypass surgery in 2012. I got the sleeve. My motivation was because I found out that I have primary progressive MS, I wanted to be healthy enough to make that fight. Making that decision was really scary but I prayed to God first before I did it. There were some complications but with God on my side I made it through. It's the best decision I've ever made. I have MS as well since 1995, it started as Relapsing and remitting, until 2018, now it’s progressive
As of August 16 2021 I had Gastric Bypass Surgery to pretty much save my life. I tried to do it on my own because I was determined but different health issues prevented my progress or slowed my progress. After having both knees replaced and foot repair surgery and having to use a cane and walker I said enough is enough. I acknowledged that my way wasn't working after weighing in as high as 301 lbs. and after coming back from Puerto Rico I made the decision to have the surgery and it's the best decision of my life. I've lost 130 lbs and will take off an additional 20 lbs. It is NOTHING to be ashamed of to make the decision to drop the weight and get healthy and always remember you're doing it for yourself to prolong your life span and be there for your child and family. My sister didn't get the chance and she's no longer here so NEVER feel guilty for taking charge of your health! I'm SO proud of you Donice and good luck on your weight loss journey!
I went through the gastric bypass in order to get a kidney. I had to lose the weight to make myself a candidate for a transplant. I am pleased to say I was successful in both areas with my new 3 year old kidney! I support Donnice and pray for a prosperous journey for her as well❤🙏🏾🙏🏾💯

Donna, the weight loss struggle is real and yes people will cut you to the bone on the weight loss surgery but haters will hate. I know because I had weight loss surgery in 2015. It was the best thing in the whole world. It changed my life. Yes, you have to commit to a strict regimen and stay strong because there are a lot of people that had gastric bypass that failed because of food choices. I was so very blessed. I never had not one issue from my bypass and I pray anyone that chooses this procedure gets through it as easy as I did. Congratulations to Donice and I pray she will continue her journey with God and eat properly according to directions. I love you all.

I had worked in GI for about 7years when I decided to have bariatric surgery December 2006. I lost 136 pounds. I have only gained about 23 pounds since then. It was a life and game changer for me. I have no regrets! Unfortunately, my insurance did not pay for it, but I did have someone to assist with the finances. Today, I can still say that it was well worth it. i had the Roux-en-Y Gastric. I did have a bile obstruction the day after my surgery, but no additional problems after that. I am healthy and loving the new me even today. You are making a GREAT, LIFE SAVING choice!
Losing weight is hard. There is no shame in having weight loss surgery. I’m glad she’s sharing her story, it can definitely help someone. DoNice, don’t listen to the haters. Take one step at a time and remember your WHY.

My daughter had bariatric surgery about 18 years ago. She was 330 lbs and lost 200lbs. She has remained at 130lbs for the past 15 years. She does not diet and eats whatever she wants within reason. Her portion sizes are much smaller but she eats a little every three or four hours. Good luck on your journey. I know you will succeed. ❤

Sister Donna and Dude #1 my house stands Team Donice 100%! I have fought my own weight all my life, I understand the battle. It has led to health issues that I'm now trying to turn around, naturally. I had gastric bypass 2 years ago at age 58. I battled with my weight my entire adult life. I began my journey at 260 pounds and now weigh 137 ponds. I had to lose weight in order to have my hip replaced. I did have two bowel obstructions, but I wouldn't change a thing. My quality of life has improved greatly. I can walk, clean my house, go shopping shopping etc... I wish you all the best!!!

I had gastric sleeve 4/2021 at age 50 best decision ever. Lost total of 95 lbs so far. Its good she is doing it at young age before major health crisis.

I'm so proud of your daughter. I've been really over weight all my life. I'm 63 and starting to lose my mobility. This really scares me but I'm really working on it. So happy she's doing this for herself.
Good for her!!! I had weight loss surgery three years ago and felt that the Lord gave me the peace in order to go down this journey. It has been the best decision I ever made not only physically but also for my mental/spiritual health. God has been faithful through the entire process and has continued to be faithful as I live in His presence in my life!!!
I am proud of her. I had the bariatric sleeve in October 2023, and it is not an easy task even though people will say you took the easy route out. But she will feel better in the end. My daughter had Gastric Bypass surgery about 8 years ago. She is doing wonderful. She had battle her weight most of her life. She is 48 years old now.
Her health has improved greatly.

I believe people should do whatever makes them HAPPY. I'm a person that has been battling my weight since I've gotten older because when I eat what I want to eat I'm going to eat it. When I choose to lose weight I will exercise, but for the most part I do me. I don't take people's opinions personally because it is like owning a donkey.
If that's what she thinks is the best thing for HER that's HER CHOICE. God bless her on her journey because some people are very annoying and disrespectful.

You know how society frowns on people who are overweight, especially women, that their are outcast and etc. But I am so happy to hear that she is taking steps to improve her health wand well being. She already is a beautiful person and if this improves how she feels about herself, she will be more outgoing and happy. At one time I weighed 230 lbs. and I was very withdrawn, finally I took steps to improve my situation and I have kept the weight off for years. If I can do, so can she. My had my surgery in 2019, I was 379lbs now I'm 166. I had lots of health issues n losing weight wasn't working as much as I tried.
My I first introduced this to my family they were totally against it, only because I hadn't did my research on it. So for a year I researched the good, bad, ugly n all the successes.
I'm so happy I had my surgery.
The only thing I had is buying new clothes n in 2 or 3 weeks they are to big.
But lots of thinks to my family n friends cause once they gave me the thumbs up, there was no stopping me.

I am so very proud and happy for Donice. I had my surgery in July of 2016 and it was very successful. If you can try to make sure that your Doctor, the Anesthesiologist and all those that care for you are believers in Jesus Christ. Pray before you go under as I did. I pray that your pain if any will be at a very bare minimum, any that God will guide the surgeon hand and also to guide the Anesthesiologist hand. God best you and your beautiful family. ❤🙏

I had weight loss surgery November 2022 and I'm doing well.
I was a diabetic and maxed out on oral and insulin and other conditions, I no longer take oral medicine and I don't take any insulin, blood pressure is normal, I had full gastric bypass surgery again, I haven't gained or had any problems.
I follow what the Doctor and his team tell me to do and what not to do.
I've lost 100 pounds so far and I fill so much better. Im Dedicated to this journey again one hundred pexclamation point.

I was denied 3 times for weight loss surgery. Even after the consultations. Thank God we now have more options to combat weight problems. Preexisting illnesses and other factors are not always taken into consideration by society.

I to have had Bariatric surgery. No regrets. Just learning a new me. You will have a lot to do.
Some of my biggest was bowel movements, my feelings about food. Defining a new relationship with food.

I had bariatric surgery is going on 3 years and I went through it with flying colors with the help of the Lord I had no pain I am doing fine when I had my surgery I was at 256 lb I am now at 160 lb I feel great I had my surgery because of health reason I had asthma I had sleep apnea I was on 50 mg of blood pressure medicine now I have no longer have to sleep with my CPAP machine I'm only taking 2 mg of blood pressure medicine and I do not have to use my inhalers anymore for asthma I thank God that he went with me on my journey and he's keeping me no matter what people say if that's what she wants to do God is with her also I say go for it Love you guys❤ And I was 62 years old and matter of fact I just had a tummy tuck and I feel great and all I can say they talked about Jesus so where no better than him Go for it❤

Hi Donice, I had Roux en Y surgery in 2005. I am 69 now and my only regret is that I waited so long. So good for you! I have gained a small amount back. How, you may ask? Well you can't eat a lot at one time, but you can eat the wrong things or eat a little here and then a little more later...also, some people experience dumping syndrome when they eat sweets and I didn't have that. Sugar is my weakness. So if you can eliminate it at the beginning and don't go back to it, you will be better off. God bless you and the family on your journey! As you experience so many firsts of things you can do when you are smaller that you couldn't even imagine doing at your highest weight, that will give you the motivation to push on.

I have diabetes and started taking injections to help with controlling A1C. With the injections, I lost 40 pounds. That was about 4 years ago. I’m still at about 40 pounds and am happy!
I know this must have been a tough decision for Donice. Weight loss can be difficult and frustrating. I have been on the pendulum for years it has been a up and down journey. I am truly happy for her. Her support system is so important. I failed because of arthritis, delayed my process and I didn't have the support. She needs the constant support to daily exercise and changing the way she eats. It is very difficult after the surgery. Keep learning what she needs the support and do it with her. DoNice and Donna, I will keep you in my prayers. On September 29, 2003, I had a rouenY gastric bypass at age 45, and it literally saved my life. I had several life-threatening co-morbidities, the least of which were diabetes and hypertension. My medical tests underscored the fact that I was dying a slow death at almost 400 pounds, and I woke up after surgery with a renewed lease on life with my God-given new "tool". I have had my ups and downs, but I thank God that He allowed me to see my then toddler son grow into manhood now at almost 25 years old. Without the surgery, most likely I would not have seen my son turn six years old. I was blessed and so are you!

hey sweety i been there i did my DS Surgery last year ,and i m happy i did it i lost 172 pounds so fare , it was the best thing i ever did, i hat a lots of medical problems bevore ,all gone now thanks to my surgery , god bless you all ,
I had gastric bypass surgery, lost 160 pounds, and have kept it off for 24 years. Best thing I ever did. Best of luck to Donice!

Gastric Bypass is one of the best things that I have ever done. Between losing 33 pounds on my own prior to surgery and the results from my surgery it is the best thing I have ever done and wish I have done it sooner. I was diagnosed with diabetes in 2018 after burying my father and attempted to lose on my own but was approaching 40 and did not want to experience the long term effects.
Lady Donna, we are behind Donice all the way on this weight loss journey. Having genuine support of family and friends makes positive results. I am now on my weight loss journey and taking it one day at a time. I have realistic goals for myself and know that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. You can make it my queen, and we can't wait to see your milestone. God bless you, and we love you.
