Day of Memory, 14 July 2021

To mark the UK’s seventh annual ‘Day of Memory’ we will remember those lost in the name of ‘honour’. We will be hosting a virtual conference that will take place on Wednesday 14th July 2021.
Speakers include Minister for Safeguarding Victoria Atkins, Domestic Abuse Commissioner Nicole Jacobs and Pauline Latham MP. Survivors from the Karma Nirvana Ambassador panel Farhana and Nour Norris will share the courageous stories related to Honour Based Abuse. The event is also supported by Nimco Ali OBE, Dr Charlotte Proudman and our founder Jasvinder Sanghera CBE.
Karma Nirvana’s new strategy will be outlined by our Executive Director, Natasha Rattu, as well as capturing the national Honour Based Abuse Helpline’s demand over the pandemic, which initially saw a 200% increase in contacts to the Helpline from victims.
