Looking forward to you hopefully doing a full review of the new Dell XPS 17" 9730, ideally with the 13th gen i7 when it comes out (I think the i9 already is out). One thing though, if I go the Dell XPS route, I'm leaning towards the FHD+ instead of the 4k screen to save money and improve battery life. I wish the XPS could come with the 2.5k oled screen of the Book3's. Though maybe if the cooling is much better in the new XPS 9730 with the 13th gen i7 chip maybe I could get the 4k screen afterall. Be very interested to see how much improvement you get with typical daily tasks: aren't we slaves to MS Teams, Zoom, browser profiles and office desktop apps . From what you have presented it doesn't look very different and also lacks the fancy top bar they have added to the Dell 13 XPS Plus.
Upgradeability of Laptops should be a mandatory thing. Thankfully it´s like that for mid/high end laptops even so it´s sometimes a bit crappy to get to the parts. A simple to access service panel to get you to ram/nvme/2.5" drivebay slots would be something that should be standard. But instead you have to disassemble the entire thing fiddle with the idiotic plastic clips after you unscrewed it..
Do you think an iPhone 12 pro would be a good buy in 2023, or would the regular 13 be a better pick? Since price wise they're really similar. The 13 is newer ofcourse but the 12 pro is the pro model. In the Netherlands you can get them for around 650 euros on a good refurbished one.

It appears that the cpu is locked (can't be undervolted) on this unit?
I would love to see a Dell XPS with a Ryzen 7940HS and no dGPU. Even if they sold it at an insane premium like $2000 for an iGPU laptop, I think it would sell. Think about it. You would get an 8C/16T CPU and an iGPU comparable to a 1650 mobile. All of it inside the tried and true carbon fiber chassis with a great 1600p IPS display and insane battery life. I think if the XPS really wants to compete with the MBP again, they need to go with a Ryzen and iGPU solution. People spending over $2000 for a thin performance laptop appreciate things like battery life, portability, and fan noise or else they would just get a gaming laptop. The XPS crowd is being won over by Apple right now.
Convince me, not because you have to but because I'm trying to find a reason not too, to purchase this over an HP zbook fury with an Intel i9 12950HX and an NVIDIA ® RTX ™ A3000 ( 12 GB ). I'm ready to buy NOW but am having a hard time deciding. 🙆🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️

The trackpad issue has not been completely fixed since 9500 (luckily I don't have this issue), and the 9510 and 9520 I use are accompanied by electric sound when running. Again, I don't think these problems should happen with such an expensive laptop. I have just got the previous 9520 model this week. I didn't fancy the price hike for the I9 and new 13th gen chipset. Be very interested to see how much improvement you get with typical daily tasks: aren't we slaves to MS Teams, Zoom, browser profiles and office desktop apps . From what you have presented it doesn't look very different and also lacks the fancy top bar they have added to the Dell 13 XPS Plus.
.....the "fancy" top bar is definitely not for everyone. I'm not a fan. I like actual buttons.
When did you start sounding so good !? Must’ve been the shotgun mic! 😂😂😂
MacBook Pro M2 or DELL XPS ? Can anyone suggest please
But instead you have to disassemble the entire thing fiddle with the idiotic plastic clips after you unscrewed it..
test this beast out for me please regarding the battery while gaming and using on normal mode working etc,
What do tech youtubers do with all the tech they buy? Sell it on ebay?
Glad I've bought the Macbook Pro. Everything is an ultrabook these days and every 2nd ultrabook looks like Macbook..
I thought they will change this Year's design to the XPS 13 plus order
Do you think an iPhone 12 pro would be a good buy in 2023, or would the regular 13 be a better pick? Since price wise they're really similar. The 13 is newer ofcourse but the 12 pro is the pro model. In the Netherlands you can get them for around 650 euros on a good refurbished one.
12 Pro has better camera, 13 has better battery.
Yeah true, but which one would last longer if you're looking to keep it for 4 years or so
@@maximstet7728 Both will last 4 years easily, but that also depends on the battery health if you're buying used. I would personally pick the 12 Pro, but that's just me.
@@Fapados123 thanks!
Love all your videos
Respect ❤❤❤
Well thanks!
is the display 120hz?
*literally presses a sophisticated laptop
: why its so clicky, why does it wobble
Hi Can You Tell me that Do i9 Processor heat a lot in laptop
I love the content you make and I feel that your channel is a but underrated
Isn't the screw in the lid?
I have an XPS 15 (2018) w/ a I7-8750H. It had been reported that the i9 apparently had many issues with throttling so I went with the i7. My unit got very hot and performed very poorly (video editing) without undervolting. Would like to see when and how often this unit throttles. It appears that the cpu is locked (can't be undervolted) on this unit?
other than a small subset of gaming laptops (like the new razer blades), new intel processors are locked from the factory
Intel CPUs that have an unlocked multiplier will have a “K” at the end of the model number.
why my new dell inspiron has a terrible looking damaged box?
Do a video on you removing that front sticker!
The XPS crowd is being won over by Apple right now.
next year there will be a 24 compute iGPU unit CPU is rumoured to be releasing, its 2X igpu of current 7940hs. that can be faster as 3060 laptop.
The secrew for the ssd is on the back of the cover 😑
Does it have S3 sleep?
Convince me, not because you have to but because I'm trying to find a reason not too, to purchase this over an HP zbook fury with an Intel i9 12950HX and an NVIDIA ® RTX ™ A3000 ( 12 GB ). I'm ready to buy NOW but am having a hard time deciding. 🙆🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
i cannot not see the specs of this model?
The XPS 15 is absolutely my favorite windows laptop. It does what so few others do and provides a legitimate alternative for Mac users who want a windows machine. I had one before my M1 Pro MacBook but the 10th gen intel CPU just wasn't working for me so I sold it for the MacBook. After the Mac, I might go back since Intel is making such great strides in their efficiency.
"Intel is making such great strides in their efficiency"
I think you should lay off the coke before leaving comments on UA-cam.
@@ArthropodSpidey They are. Intel is still pretty far behind AMD but they have made impressive progress in just the last few years. We can thank competition from AMD for that. IMHO, an XPS 15 with an AMD chip would be pretty close to the perfect windows laptop.
@@Piketom1 absolutely wrong. Intel's recent focus is on more powerful chips, not on efficiency. They still aren't on the 5nm process. 12th and 13th gen chips are absolutely horrendous at efficiency.
You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.
@@ArthropodSpidey The 12th and 13th gen chips run much hotter than intel and AMD but they are far more efficient than the 9th, and 11th gen chips I’ve used in laptops in the past few years. Big/little design seems to be helping.
@@Piketom1 the Intel parts are terrible when in Desktop configuration as they overclock the nuts off of them, but they are better when run within the efficiency window. Temperature is irrelevent, chips just run at whatever temp they are designed to run at.
Watching this video through my xps15 9520. I'm a big fan of XPS line as well, but I have to say that Dell needs to make some changes. The trackpad issue has not been completely fixed since 9500 (luckily I don't have this issue), and the 9510 and 9520 I use are accompanied by electric sound when running. Again, I don't think these problems should happen with such an expensive laptop. As for the cooling design, I think it is to differentiate from the higher xps17 line, so Dell tends to stick with the old cooling design.
Cut the copper pipes open. I bet you $100 there is liquid in them...... Aka Vaper chamber. As for the screw for the NVME Look at the bottom panel you took off There are 2 screws Dell provided for the extra drive.
The screw comes with the SSD though
I would appreciate if You test this thing with RTX4050-4060-4070 in games in comparison with 9520 3050ti.
Ill second that !
how much is it?
Blurghhh I really hate windows laptops still using 'power adaptor' with 2 cables to use it. I'm happy transitioning to Apple completely.
A video that isn’t about an Apple product. Yay!
How many watts is the gpu running at?
