I ordered that sharpener from CW Pencil Enterprise of New York City. Can't wait to try this.

Where can I get longer-than-normal replacement blades for M+R Castor and Pollux pencil sharpeners?
No trace of them neither on Amazon nor on Google in general.

Does the KUM AUTOMATIC LONG POINT (multiple slots) have all the housing made of plastic? Or does it have any part made of metal apart from the blades?
Which one sharpens a longer tip: the all-magnesium KUM MASTERPIECE (double slot) or the all-magnesium KUM LONG POINT 400-5L (single slot)?
And compared to the all brass M+R CASTOR (single slot)?

I just ordered a set of Prismacolor premier color pencils. The point you just made is sweet. Do you think it’s cool to use the Pollux on them? Thanx man

I would be careful using the Pollux on colored pencils only because the "lead" on colored pencils is actually wax and not graphite. Maybe a hand-crank sharpener would be better. If you give it a try let me know as I'm as curious as you are now lol.

Have you tried sharpening by turning the sharpener and holding the pencil still? it's been recommended by some as a better technique, because you get fewer breakages that way.

Thank you, I'll be sure to try that in the future! Always looking to get the finest point on the pencil. :)

I contacted M+R directly as I couldn't find it for sale anywhere in the US.

I found them on Amazon for $32.00. Wow. You would have to REALLY want this to pay that much for a pocket sharpener. The round brass double hole is only $8.00.

    What about castor Vs Pollux?

The field notes pencils are really crummy. I don't like mine at all... But luckily I received them free with a purchase of Field Notes notebooks so no harm done, but I think with a pencil of better quality the efficiency of the sharpeners would be better highlighted. Your Bullet blade seems worn. Thanks for the review.

Thanks for watching and I think you're totally right! Although I've only used my bullet on a handful of pencils so maybe I got a bad blade... :(

Have you tried to change the blade?........ Huge dissapointment. I've been using these for years and recently bought the replacements blades. They don't engage with the pencil.... terrible

Using a bad quality pencil to test a sharpener is not a good test.

Turn the sharpener. Not the pencil. Its a smoother cut. Way better for ze lead bud 😁

I just ordered one from pencils.com for 25 bucks

    Terrible.
To start, get a new blade for the bullet so the comparison is accurate.
Why use a Field Notes pencil? Worst pencil ever....

hahaha Thanks for the feedback. Surprisingly the bullet is only ~2 weeks old, so the blade is brand new. I just grabbed those pencils because they were close and I had two of them. When I do the HUGE sharpener comparison video I'll be sure to use better pencils. :)

I am giving thumbs down due to use of the worst possible pencils.
