Outside of Kenyan and Ethiopia, Japan is the 3rd best country in the marathon distance and their marathon runners are mainly amateur non-professional runners as compared to Kenya & Ethiopia where elite marathon runners are mostly professionals. Japan has over 200 runners clocking sub-2 hour 10mins in marathons. UK has 22 runners and US has 34 runners achieving this elite time. Bearing in mind, Japan has only a third of population size of USA. No typo here and it is well-known in the running world that Japan has most depth of elite runners in the world.
Is there a typo in the title and you meant to say Kenyans or Ethiopians? I dont see any Japanese inside the top 50 of the marathon world rankings.
