what a horribly appropriate song for my best friend to have been playing over the aux when i totaled my mom's 2006 jeep commander the morning after prom night
I also thought it was about a car crash. Don't drink and drive. Sometimes the designated driver will get free sodas at a bar. This has happened to me. Or just stay home 🏡
I don't get how so many people are complaining about the sing-along and saying they sold out or whatever. How can anyone not see the intentional cheesiness? It's really obvious
libertymusic you see, the whole second verse is like "one day you will find someone who will love you like you deserve, but tonight im the only one left and im betting thats a fact that you will never learn" ok so immediately hes like youre stuck alone with me in a romantic context and in one that doesnt necessarily seem consensual. Then hes like "Once I sink my teeth, your skin's not so tough I'll leave a tiny cut, there'll be a lot of blood But once you wipe it up you will feel better about our entire situation" so hes like hurting her, and then fixing it so he doesnt seem bad. Yes, I'll give you that the whole you are my peach you are my plum part and all that is quite cheesy, but I think that's just to add to the juxtaposition of everywhere else. The abuser is "brainwashing" her into staying with him and loving him because he "loves" her, which just furthers the whole idea that it might be about abuse, because that's a common thing in abusive relationships. The song is and shouldn't be as romanticized as it is and I'm sorry for the long reply, I am just very passionate about this.
"Cause we are all eventually either the victims or the victim's family" I fucking vibe with this lyric so hard because it's so true. I disagreed with it for a while, because sometimes you're neither, you are the one doing the harm, but even people who do harm are eventually the victim, or the victim's family.
“I believe that someone’s got a plan for me, got a plan for me, even if I don’t know it yet” … this lyric came to me out of nowhere recently after a momentarily lacking hope. It brought me back to the present and reminded me to be still and be patient. Things might seem dull atm but everything that I’ve been working for will truly bring me success even if I can’t see it right now I trust that the universe has a greater plan for me… even if I don’t know it yet. Thank you Front Bottoms
"I hope your quarters go to laundry I hope your problems go away Either buried underground Or drifting off into space What more can I say? 'Cause we are all eventually Either the victims Or the victim's family." *SOB* lol
I really like the juxtaposition of the really dark lyrics that sound straight out of a speech at a funeral for a close friend to a really upbeat track. The Front Bottoms have always been really good at that sort of thing without it seeming like a painfully obvious attempt to do this sort of thing. A song everyone jumps to is Jump by Van Halen but if you want a textbook example of this, I recommend listening to Bulletproof Love by Pierce the Veil. While it's a little hard to get past the vocals, it's a great example of a song where if you don't hear the words being said, it could easily pass as a vapid pop/rock song.
This album is awesome. I only found this band from being a huge fan of the wonder years and seen it on the youtube side bar so i checked it out. Thanks wonder years, you just found me an awesome new band.
Intro] Should I go in? It's been an hour I give a fake name and I hang in the emergency room They say the good thing about plastic flowers is You could spray them with any type of perfume [Verse 1] You should fear what you already know And hope that you never find out about the things you don't know yet ´Cause I believe that someone's got a plan for me Got a plan for me, even if I don't know it yet Not quite yet [Verse 2] You should fear a hurt that's hard to explain And hope that the next couple days to come Are as relaxing as any other day I hope your quarters go to laundry I hope your problems go away Either buried underground or drifted off into space What more can I say? [Chorus] 'Cause we are all, eventually Either the victims Or the victims' family The victims' family The victims' family [Bridge] Okay, everybody, shut the fuck up a minute I have something to say Listen, just because something burns bright Doesn't mean it's gonna burn forever So all these people around you saying "You got so much further to go" "It's gonna get worse before it gets better" I don't know, I don't know if that's true You know, thanks so much for coming, and On this next part, let's sing it all together [Verse] I believe that someone's got a plan for me They got a plan for me, even if I don't know it yet I believe that someone, somewhere has got a plan for me They got a plan for me, even if I don't know it yet [Outro] 'Cause we are all, eventually Either the victims Or the victims' family The victims' family, the victims' family The victims' family
omg i remember this. he smashed his guitar and i got a small piece of it! i haven't listened to this song in months. it makes me sad now because i was going through a bad time
a sing-a-long in a TFB song? I blame Fueled by Ramen. the rest of the song is good but.. ugh. I hate Fueled by Ramen for trying to mainstream TFB's sound.
>tfw you realize they wrote this album before signing to FBR lmao have fun being bitter about a good band making more money and gaining a bigger fan base, fam.
+Christian Babin did they produce the album before signing to Fueled? Because a lot can change between writing a song and the final production of it. That's what producers and record labels do. Knowing that all the (significant) style choices were purely their decision would make me more comfortable with the change. They have had the same style since their first EPs (the only significant change being their self titled album) and they suddenly go through a huge change that I am supposed to believe coincides with Fueled by Ramen only by coincidence? I don't think so. I am happy that they are doing better for themselves, their music has gotten me through life for years. But don't expect me to be okay with Fueled by Ramen's blatant disrespect for an artist's integrity. Anyway, just my opinion.
+Will Eyre Well the whole thing is supposed to read like someone speaking at a funeral. (That's the vibe I get at least) And what the fuck kind of funeral has a sing-along?
what a horribly appropriate song for my best friend to have been playing over the aux when i totaled my mom's 2006 jeep commander the morning after prom night
oof
I also thought it was about a car crash. Don't drink and drive. Sometimes the designated driver will get free sodas at a bar. This has happened to me. Or just stay home 🏡

+TheDabomber well theres peach
+Kevin Mcmanimen but peach seems to be about abuse and quite possibly rape
+Jacob Rittenberg why do you think that its about abuse
libertymusic you see, the whole second verse is like "one day you will find someone who will love you like you deserve, but tonight im the only one left and im betting thats a fact that you will never learn" ok so immediately hes like youre stuck alone with me in a romantic context and in one that doesnt necessarily seem consensual. Jacob Rittenberg i don't know, still feel like you're reading way too much into the song, but I respect your enthusiasm
This is so cheesy it almost sounds sarcastic to me and I dig it
finally someone gets it
This is the third time I found a f#cking awesome indie band, thank you FBR.
2:15 love this sm
"Cause we are all eventually
either the victims or the victim's family" I fucking vibe with this lyric so hard because it's so true. I disagreed with it for a while, because sometimes you're neither, you are the one doing the harm, but even people who do harm are eventually the victim, or the victim's family.

Such clean sound compared to their old stuff but still oh so great! Can't wait to see live.

Intro]
Should I go in? It's been an hour
I give a fake name and I hang in the emergency room
They say the good thing about plastic flowers is
You could spray them with any type of perfume
[Verse 1]
You should fear what you already know
And hope that you never find out about the things you don't know yet
´Cause I believe that someone's got a plan for me
Got a plan for me, even if I don't know it yet
Not quite yet
[Verse 2]
You should fear a hurt that's hard to explain
And hope that the next couple days to come
Are as relaxing as any other day
I hope your quarters go to laundry
I hope your problems go away
Either buried underground or drifted off into space
What more can I say?
[Chorus]
'Cause we are all, eventually
Either the victims
Or the victims' family
The victims' family
The victims' family
[Bridge]
Okay, everybody, shut the fuck up a minute
I have something to say
Listen, just because something burns bright
Doesn't mean it's gonna burn forever
So all these people around you saying
"You got so much further to go"
"It's gonna get worse before it gets better"
I don't know, I don't know if that's true
You know, thanks so much for coming, and
On this next part, let's sing it all together
[Verse]
I believe that someone's got a plan for me
They got a plan for me, even if I don't know it yet
I believe that someone, somewhere has got a plan for me
They got a plan for me, even if I don't know it yet
[Outro]
'Cause we are all, eventually
Either the victims
Or the victims' family
The victims' family, the victims' family
The victims' family

Can my ex not like this song please
Why does this remind me if a Christian song???
+ugly ho Right?
ugly ho it's mocking religion.
I miss the old tfb , nothing will be as good as the self titled.
Can't argue with that, but
I mean compared to Talon of the Hawk and Back on Top.
Hey guess what homie! You can listen to self titled literally whenever you want!
Ugh
This and West Virginia are the only good Back On Top songs. And 2YL is okay
a sing-a-long in a TFB song? I blame Fueled by Ramen. the rest of the song is good but.. ugh. I hate Fueled by Ramen for trying to mainstream TFB's sound.

+1TieDye1 The Front Bottoms are so self-aware and ironic. Like that speech MUST be ironic, so i assume the sing-along is as well.
It's just fun, man
+Will Eyre Well the whole thing is supposed to read like someone speaking at a funeral. (That's the vibe I get at least) And what the fuck kind of funeral has a sing-along?
+Will Eyre I don't know if I would use the word ironic, but I see what youre saying and I agree.
the first 1/2 is soooooo good, but i just can't get down with the gospel-y stuff at the end:/
seeing them tomorrow!!!
:P
