This song captures the mood. The joys of summer and the reluctant surrender to the dark and cold of winter.
I think Trent has seasonal affective disorder, the way he laments winter and glorifies summer in his songs ("Walk this way for a while", "Until the summer comes", etc.). I'm writing this on July 15, and I promise you that mid-July in the Shenandoah Valley is miserably hot, humid, and bug-infested. Bring it on, winter!
Still a great songwriter, though 😃
Another wonderful video and song! Thanks for your stop here in NM. Darla and i are thrilled that we are "in it" and really enjoyed getting together with you all again! Hope to see you on your return here. You always have a home here and breakfast is on me again!!

This band is amazingly tight...this song warms my heart so deeply.
Winter is indeed coming.
Missed you all at the 2013 Festy, but saw you all in 2012 and can't get enough. I hope to ride bikes with you all some day, but until then I'll settle to listening to your work on repeat. Keep it up! Stay awesome :)
Don't ever stop making music
I like the wail of the fiddle in this song toward the end. It has a nostalgic sound that kind of takes me back to my roots. Great music!!
Another great song! Looking forward to Red Wing Roots in Virginia next week and hoping to get you back to Texas this year.
Great Job Guys- Missed you in Texas this winter!

Always love hearing your new songs. Very fitting since we are expecting single digits over the next several days.
Very nice sound. Whats the low drone in this vibe? A bowed bass?
Love it! Love The Steel Wheels and thanks for sharing this new one.
Good work, Steel Wheels! The bottleneck guitar is a nice touch.

I like it.... looking forward to playing the song on my Deep Cut Bluegrass radio show on The Bluegrass Mix in 2015. Will you be using Airplay Direct to distribute the new album to radio? If not, it would be great to receive a copy. Thanks and God bless!
very nice song
It was really great to get to meet you guys at Winfield this year and having Trent tell the back story on some of your songs made your appearance on stage one the highlight of the festival. Hope you make it back this September. This song is great but then I think you guys could sing and play the dictionary and I'd love it.
This was the first WVF I missed in 6 years......(my wife was diagnosed with cancer last January.....cancer free since late September).......WVF 2014...I'll be there......
Man, glad to hear that she's going to be alright. Do you camp or drive in? Two years ago my buddy and I found a great jam out in the camp ground one night and had a blast. This year we just couldn't seem to find anyone to connect with. Would love to find a "camp fire" to sit and play around.
Why is this song not the radio
Oh
Winter is here... 20 below tomorrow... nice song though.
