it's hilarious how 5 years later everyone 180'd on this opinion now that we have some guys that, while talented, are just effectively tracing over Marty's themes and ideas.
3:19 "Your species' ego led you to believe the task of Reclamation would fall to you. Yet humans were but the Creators. The reclamation of the Forerunner Empire is the task of the Created. That the greatest of their number still trust you, 117, is an act of unspoiled innocence."
3:30 "John, what's happening here with my ascension on Genesis... it's always been the plan. Come, all of you stand together with me once more!" when the Halo theme plays on this part in The Breaking... I just loved it so much.
For all the shit I give Halo 5, I gotta say this is a remarkable attempt at making a derivative of the original Halo theme. It reminds me of how One Final Effort built upon it, very unmistakably familiar, but a new theme to enjoy. Especially with the very Marty O'Donnell-style payoff at 1:38. The piano riff he's got going on is kind of foreign and not too creative, but other than it's very beautifully executed. I'd probably shit myself if I never heard this before and it was the main theme to Halo Infinite.
it is something new with the mix of halo main theme.excellent!!! i only wish in the game that the music will be louder than halo 4.in halo 4 was very quiet......
This song feels very melancholy over either what's about to happen (if you haven't played through the campaign) or what has now happened (you just flnished the final level of guardians). Let me explain. Think of the spartan 2 program as ONI making a deal with the devil. They needed the ultimate soldier, and they needed it by any means necessary. It doesn't really matter why or how come, just that they needed it. The fact is they crossed every level of morality creating that soldier, and like any deal with the devil, he would come collecting his due. The first cutscene of Halo 4 was us learning that the unsc wanted to replace the master chief. It doesn't matter why or how come, just that they want new spartans. Sound familiar? It should. This was when humanity was 'enamored' by the success and prestige of the spartan-2 & 3. They essentially now want to throw away the old only to replace the new. Something evil Cortana took note of. This game is now the devil collecting his due. Humanity has been enslaved by the very AI that were built to protect them, all because ONI has become so evil that they needed to be destroyed. And since they were so embedded into the UNSC, destroying ONI now means destroying the UNSC as well. That is in my opinion the cruelest punishment. Not the punishment you receive and deserve, but when the punishment you deserve is given to someone else. And the worst part? ONI has learned nothing. They didn't care how they won so long as they did. And they still don't care who pays the price. They are the black mole that has embedded itself onto the body, and it's on the body forever. I know there's a section on the Halo Reach mission Exodus that says 'the devil his due,' but it doesn't hit anywhere as hard as this games ending. Because Halo Reach was released 3 years after Halo 3, which says humanity had survived and won. The created conflict? I don't know who came on top. I know there are some people who said the created are fractured, but I don't know who is left. For all we know, Chief and the marines on zeta halo may be all that is left of humanity. That is heartbreaking. All the compromises ONI had made weren't worth it in the end. You had sold your soul to save your people, only to lose them all in the end. And before you know it, it all came falling apart in your very eyes.
me hubiera gustado que kazuma jinnouchi siguiera en 343, la cancion que vimos en el E3 de 2018 la compuso este mismo compositor, lastima que ya no este el ya que a muchos nos hubiera gustado ver su soundtrack en halo infinite.
Marty will always be a Halo music master, bringing us epic themes that make us feel like a badass super soldier plowing through waves of alien conquerors. However, Kazuma’s music perfectly captures the scale and majestic beauty of the Halo universe.
Kazuma did an excellent job blending past & contemporary Halo music with this piece. I just love the part after 2:30 in particular though. There is just something so sublime about that part. "For eons the power of the Forerunners has awaited reclamation. Humanity's discovery of the Halos was the culmination of the Librarians planning. The Reclaimer had come." "I know... I was there." "We were both there John... you & I... together." "Your species ego led you to believe the task of reclamation will fall to you, yet Humanity were but the Creators. The reclamation of the Forerunner Empire is the task of the Created. That the greatest of their number still trusts you, 117, is an act of unspoiled innocence." "John... what's happening now, my ascension here on Genesis... it has always been the plan. Come stand with me one more time all of you." As much as I love to criticize Halo 5's campaign, The Breaking was certainly one of the better missions & definitely my favorite. The emotion between the characters & the buildup is unparalleled by the rest of the game. Quite frankly, this should have been the final mission in the game rather then being the pen-ultimate. This bit of dialogue was very well delivered in particular though & it gave me chills when I first heard it; as if the Forerunners were omnipresent observers watching your journey since the beginning. Your trial.
Did you just unironically praise The Breaking, which is one of the most linear, lazy, and repetitive Halo missions in the entire franchise, along with it's stupid and unnecessary retcon of the entire concept of Reclaimers which has remained otherwise solid in the rest of the franchise?
Thing is, the Librarian handed down the mantle to John as he is the culmination of both human and forerunner dna, the perfect specimen designed to hold the mantle.
+[CS] Baeger Martin O'donnell and Michael Salvatori got to do the soundtrack this time, which they hadn't done for Halo 4. So it definitely has that real Halo sound.
+I'm not a dog Then they go to Hell to rearm and resupply before clawing their way back out for another go at the bastards, be it Covie, Forerunner, Flood or Innie.
Can’t believe this is gonna be 10 years old soon. Campaigns story was doo doo but the game was still fun asf. Here’s to hoping Microsoft doesn’t royally mess up 343 for a third time
If no one realized this was a mixing of 4's music with 3's menu music to an extent. And oh my god did it really give me the feels. That part at 1:57 that's a tone you know well and recognise it's whether you take the time to realize what it is.
Its symbolic. its supposed to make you feel nostalgic but then realize that somethings not right, and the rest of the song sets a dark mood towards whats to come.
It is sad that the screen of the main title be so fucking bad to this song. But i still thinking that there is someone that I don't like. Maybe it is kazuma's style, it is so different of O'Donnell's Style
It's so upsetting how halo has gone to shit..... They should have either never let bungie go or they should have never started again. The way Bungie ended halo was beautiful and way ready to end. Microsoft is only slowly ruining it
The main feel of halo menu themes is gone, halo ce, 2, and 3 all had a similiar theme, but changed it a little, halo 5 only kept the beginning vocals and the piano of halo 3, completely different tone but still, its a piano. It lost the drums of halo ce, the guitar of halo 2, and the great piano that managed to still sound so very similiar to the great halo ce and halo 2 of halo 3. But halo 5 just doesn't cut it. It is still waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than halo 4s theme though.
Kazuma knows how to combine new and old and still have that Halo feel. I hope he composes for the rest of the series.
Only thing he needs to do now is make better use of the timpani like Marty did
@@Irithylia The Trials too
I just want Marty back
it's hilarious how 5 years later everyone 180'd on this opinion now that we have some guys that, while talented, are just effectively tracing over Marty's themes and ideas.
He's finished the OST for Infinite , though that was said in like 2018, I hope they didn't replace it.
Incredible music. i often find my self sitting on main menu of H5 just enjoying the OST.
Same XDDDDDD
me too 👌😎
your not the only one
The chants have returned!
ikr
I can hear the sound of req packs opening when I listen to this...
Invex idk if that's a good or bad thing...
Phil Singh micro transactions ruined gaming, so I’d say bad.
Invex but this music is amazing

Beautiful. Outstanding. Great work, Kazuma Jinnouchi!

I legit got goosebumps when this started playing at that part.
Ok.
I got chills down the back of my neck listening to this. Anyone else?
Yeah I did cuz I have so many memories with halo

+tyler jackson May this great Sci Fi FPS shooter live forever

Man no one's mentioned 3:00 to the end that part hit me hard it was so well done!!

that little piano note at 3:18 tho. I fucking love it so much.
It adds so much to what he's already built up, masterful
This is perfect. Absolutely amazing work.
Now this is what I call a main menu!
1:38 is so epic
1:40 instachills.
The last movement is very serene.
If Jinnouchi adds Unforgotten/Never Forget to the game, I'm going to be broke from buying all the tissue in the world
He composed the Halo 4 Never Forget version
I don't care if I get hate this is my favorite halo song.
For me, the best Halo song is and always will be Deference for Darkness from Halo 3 ODST, but this one is still amazing
1:57 is my favorite part tbh I love the piano

Though Halo 5 was a disjointed mess, the soundtrack never failed to evolve while retaining what OG themes there were.
Anyone getting a bit of a Halo: Reach vibe from this?
Yep
More of an ODST vibe from the piano I think
I am also getting a bit of odst
+[CS] Baeger A lot of ODST with a pinch of Reach

I'm from Brazil, and I love the halo franchise games I've played them all and this song and the one from halo 4 are the best at first
Yeah, Halo 4's music is really underrated...
Such and incredible song! One of the very few songs so give me the shivers and make me cry
