Honest and down to earth review - just how I like them! Thanks! If I decide to buy one (prints look nice!) I'll make sure to use your links.
Your enthusiasm is an inspiration, sir. Thank you for the review!
Thanks for the review! I got my A20M in and watched your video. The tip about the steps/mm from 340 to 440 made a big difference.
I printed the lizard just fine now. My only issue seams to be lack of any good profile for S3D I got one off the facebook group but it causes issues with mine. Retraction issues in my left extruder that I don't get with the supplied g-code for the lizard.
Any way I wanted to say thanks and if you could when you review a printer it would be nice if you included your profile and settings.
Thank you Sir for your down to earth, thoughtful content.
u still use this printer and is this printer complicated to use at all do u get any clogs wit this printer ?
I just stumbled across your channel while trying to figure out if it is worth purchasing the Geeetech A20... And I must say.... I love your review. Very informative and extremely entertaining. Lots of love to you for doing these videos =^_^=
Hello ... A20M is indeed a quite good printer ... I have the A20T ( which is the same with 3 extruders / color ) .... do you have any recommendations for replacement extruders ?
Just go with all metal and keep the hobbed drive clean.
Sorry, the points are mostly not really valid, Calibration of the extruder is part of printing and setup, the spoolholder mounts, so it took you two prints to flip them and you still mounted them awkwardly to the wrong side, if you show us a 3000$ dual color printer that doesn't clog, then compare that to the price of the A20M .. and to say that it's not a good printer because it is chinese.. how many european or american 3d printer manufacturers are there that can supply PERFECT printers that are under 500$? i would love to try those..
You have the spool holders on backward. This is my second 3d printer, both are Chinese and if you are on a budget and want to get into dual color printing this is the way to go. I for one don't have the budget to spend a lot on a 3D Printer, and buying the right Chinese 3D Printer makes it so I can get the best 3D Printer for my money. so if you wan't a good Chinese 3D Printer do some research first.
Shower thought, could we print the change over column as just the inner cross stitching or does this already happen?
The whole purpose of the tower is to extrude enough filament to clear the hot end.
Great video. You mentioned PVA or a dissolvable filament. Other have said that their machine clogs when trying multiple materials, have you found a workaround to get dissolvable filament to work with this machine?
Hi, I can see that may be an issue with most 2 into one nozzle due to the different heat required. However there are plenty with dual extruders with dual drive what would solve that. This video was awhile ago and long since donated to a local school so I can't test it for you now. I will however on the next 2 into 1 dual filament printers. We have more in route and more videos being edited so subscribe if you wish and I'll make it a point to test it for you
Thanks, I would certainly be interested in learning your results. Subscribed now.
We have filmed an update video with cheap upgrade to stop the clogs
Wow, thanks for letting me know. I look forward to watching it. Very much appreciated.
To fix the underextrusion problem I had to set my extruder ESteps all the way up to 1062. That seems high... higher than most everything else i've seen people set it to. I used your formula from another video.... NewESteps=(OldEStep x expected extrusion) / actual extrusion. Why is my result so different?
I had to do the same more than 900 ... but only after I had updated the firmware
Hi, what software do you use to slice ?
Do you have a link to suggested extruder replacement parts?
Do you got a answer ... I was about to ask the same !
Great video I want to purchase one of the printer's but I want to upgrade the spool holders and the exthruders any recommendations on good parts to purchase?
Essa impressora parece ser muito boa 😁👍🏽
what different between a10m and a20m?
Print size
Good video 😊
Interesting review
Thanks for sharing😀👍
Thank you
Spool holders can be mounted as you wish... three screw holes as you can see here. or just turn them around or put them side out as I have on my A10m with my extruders facing the plate for easy filament loading. Your info is false. Also ensure Bowden tubes are trimmed square and pushed down as far as they will go. G’day.
The QA of Geeetech 3D printers has been pretty abysmal. I bought a A10 recently and from out of the box, issues. I reached out to their support on Facebook and elsewhere to not much luck. The board can't be connected to and many other issues. Their solution? Send me parts for a different model printer, a replacement motherboard and a bent z screw. I'm not impressed playing tech support to fix their lousy product. Some people get good, working printers...and some, like me, get a complete disaster.
Agree with you completely. I ordered a Geeetech A30 through 3DPrintersBay on 11/10/2018 - didn't get it till 11/30/2018 and it was defective out of the box - the control unit started smoking on first use and almost caught fire. Notified both 3DPrintersBay and Geeetech on 11/30/2018 and neither have been very helpful to resolve the problem. Geeetech said they were sending parts but haven't received anything yet. 3DPrintersBay told me to file a claim with PayPal now against Geeetech...Do yourself a favor and stay away from both of these companies.
TheCRUMeister that’s scary. You post these issues on their Facebook group and their fan boys will try to shame you for daring complain about a cheap printer. It’s pretty pathetic how they treat customers. But that’s how these China printers are. Make as cheap as possible and us dumb consumers keep buying them, hoping ours works well enough to repair. Imagine if cars were sold like this!
@@WhereNerdyisCool I am afraid you are quite right. It comes down to the old saying - you get what you pay for. I have some Chinese printers that are still going after 2 years and others which went into the bin.
If you want a work-horse printer for long term use you have to either spend the money up-front or be prepared to upgrade/replace parts on cheaper printers.
I'd bet on it that ALL 3d printers are Chinese, just like ALL iPhones iPads and android devices are. If they were made in a country that pays the workers for the value of their work, an iPhone, tablet or any 3D printer would cost 10s of thousands of pounds. The only Chinese printer is a Chinese BRANDED printer and the only American printer is a Chinese, AMERICAN branded printer.
I have one and it set in the corner with the name JUNK on it and I worker over 60hrs on it never again.
Far better to build a kit from complete scratch so you know how to diagnose and repair and tweak.
Have you checked out the Geeetech A10 and A20 FB group? Lots of advice on there. If you have a specific issue maybe I can help.
just give it to me :)
You need a few more ads to really make this video special.
Problem with these printers is getting the spares quickly and at a decent price. Buy the time I pay for the printer, in the UK, then VAT and import tax, then have to upgrade all the shite parts. It's way way over priced. The parts fitted are always what they can get away with.
@2:15 wow, and you did not atleast make a video that it does not work, or asking help? What a wasted opportunity, and your journalistic integrity is highly questionable. What printer was it? Now others do not know it might be waste of money.
@3:40 i would have very much liked to see the hotend parts etc. and i am sure a lot of other people too, even if how the mixing happens is not viewable. If you had it already apart, taking few seconds of B-roll of them would've been nice.
@8:20 Would have been nice to see insides of the extruder too ...
Would have been nice to know the electronics too, what board does it use? What drivers? AC or DC heatbed?
Please do better job in future, you have access to all these machines and info, and proper review would include that detail.
