Welcome to Liverpool, a vibrant city in the North West of England. Located on the banks of the River Mersey, Liverpool is well known for its musical heritage with Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Cilla Black and The Beatles calling Liverpool home. In 2023, Liverpool hosted the Eurovision Song Contest on behalf of the previous winners, Ukraine. The large building here is the M&S Bank Arena where the contest was held. To the left is the Wheel of Liverpool, a 60 metre tall Ferris wheel that opened in 2010. This was the 'calm before the storm' so to speak, as only a few hours after this video was recorded, the first semi-final of Eurovision was held!
