I'm the designer of the River Knights Watchtower, Thank you for including it in this fantastic video. Loved your insights, really appreciate the work you're doing!
I agree, if I could only get one of these, it would be the River Knight's Watchtower! ❤ Ideally, there's about five of these that I would really like to get.
I think that all of the submissions are great but the dracula castle is like a breath of fresh air. It is something different yet interesting, fun to play with and I can see it perfectly fitting next to the other medieval builds on one display.
I hope the Transylvania one gets made. It combines castle and monster fighters/gothic elements perfectly. Also the color scheme would work perfect with vladeks dark fortress. Love it and will probably rebrick it if doesn‘t get made
The Adventure in Transylvania is outstanding! And it goes beyond the castle theme. Would look amazing as display. Love the Gothic architecture in black... this sets it apart from all the other castles. Also, it fits perfectly with Halloween 🎃 Instant Buy for me!
Thank you for the detailed feedback on my Transforming Greenhills Keep. The transformation feature might look complicated, but once you see it in action (there's a video), it is really intuitive.
My three favorites are: Wolves' Den, Black Brick Knight's Castle, and Green Hills Keep (I love that 9-in-1 concept, where you can rejigger it without having to completely rebuild the model). Adventure in Transylvania is undeniably awesome, but I'm not sure I would actually buy it myself.
yeah i really hope they don't penalize sleeplessnight for having so many successful submissions...cause that Dracula's castle is just head and shoulders above the rest of the castles.... and that is saying something. It is fantastic imo. Although i love the other 2 in your last 3 thre. Totally agree w your take. (I also have the Mountain fortress on order ...soon...soon ; )
True. It's super different and quite special. I agree, there's always the fear of appearing to have favouritism BUT the design speaks for itself, I really want it. So cool
My favourite is the River Knights watchtower. It's such a lovely design full of little details and a new faction that goes well with the classic castle factions.
I saw the e-mail last night telling me to vote.. 13 pages of sets to vote on.. "Let's just do 1 or 2", I thought to myself.. 13 pages later: "Why aren't there any more?!"
@Stud-Lord haha, I remember thinking afterwards, "I guess I don't need to watch StudLord's videos this time around.." But I'm glad I did. They're always great, a quick, very good analysis 👌 The trains, though, that I won't watch.. I just don't get the appeal.. I see train, I click 'not for me'..😜
The last two are superb!! So cool to see what people can come up with, brilliant. Give a non-creatives, like me, the chance to open the instructions. And making me feel like I'm creating something out of thin air myself 😁
My absolute favorite of all submissions (not just castle stuff) is the Adventure in Transylvania. That is a piece that on display would be awe inspiring, and yet it has a lot of playability. Everything you want in Lego. Some of my other favorites are Wolves Den (please something with Wolfpack get picked), The King's Return (but I would still pick Transylvania over this), and Skull Keep (though I agree I would want actual mini-figures as I don't count skeletons either...but I can fill it with my own stuff to flesh it out).
I am for Vampires :D Would be nice if lego did something like Vampire hunters again, or some story about turning some vampire back into human or something like that :D
Transylvania is just next level. I really liked some of the others, but this one really stands out from the rest with the gothic architecture and Dracula theme.
I really like the river knights watchtower, it has the sort of form factor and vibrancy that really remind me of the old Lego castle sets. I hope it wins, though many of the other submissions are also worthy
05:01 Wolves' Den is not showing up anymore on their website, it looks like it has been dropped. I was confused when you showed it because i did not see it last night when doing my voting
The transylvania build may not "fit in" with the regular castle builds, but it's absolutely fantastic and I'd hope to be in a financial position to support it if it makes the list.
Yeah. The fact it’s not a regular castle is one of the main things that makes it so brilliant. It’s a different type of castle that’s been designed so well.
I know this is a compilation of high piece count submissions but I think we have enough castles for now, and of the castles we do have wether Bricklink Designer Program or Lego Ideas they are really expensive. A few smaller world building sets would be great now I think. Farms, ambushes, jousting, betrayals, fishing village/ lake. Or even some kind of negotiations set for the factions around a table would be a brilliant excuse to have multiple faction minifigs in there (revive some old ones?). Im really hoping since space got a minifigures series that Castle may get one in the future too since we know lego owns Bricklink now they see the price and volume trends for the more highly coveted figs that are consistently the Castle ones from the CMF series. Good video thanks
There are multiple smaller sets there that aren't covered on this list. Several of these picks are headscratchers - it seems like this list is just picked based on size and how "castle-like" they are. "Wolfians Hideout", "Castle Wolfstone", "Wolf Den", and "River Fortress" are all nice smaller sets with clever designs. I like "Viking Camp" as well, for a small set. For a village style set I'd vote for the "Guild's Forum" or "Medieval Beekeeper" (although I probably wouldn't have done the brickbuilt animal). "Alchemist's Caravan" is a really cool small design that I'd totally purchase. I don't own it, but if you want something to go with the LEGO "Medieval Blacksmith" set then the "Forestmen Tavern", "Medieval Bakery", "The Medieval Water Mill", "House in the Country" & "Pigs & Potions" are all nice bigger designs that I think would go very well together. I'd pick almost all of these over some of the selections on this list. I think "The Bloody Baron's Mansion" is better than several on this list. "Bandit Bend" has ambush features built into it and looks great. "Wolf Tower" looks pretty good. "Black Tower" has a good design, although I'm not a fan of the all black aesthetic. "Adventure in Transylvania" is probably going to be what's selected. I'm not sure we'll get a Castle set this round unless a mid sized set is picked.
@@JohnDoe-lo1uf Ill check these out, thanks for the suggestions I havent been able to look at this rounds submissions yet. Ill vote for big castles if they are cool enough but I hope that given the price premium Bricklink sets get and Legos general super high price points that they go for something smaller, a bit easier to display and fit somewhere while also being affordable!
So, they only select one set in the 4,000 piece count range, which if it's a castle themed set will almost 100% be ""Adventure in Transylvania"". They also will select one smaller piece count set. The remaining 3 are supposed to be around 2,500 pieces with the average of the 5 being 2,500. I'm not sure why this is the case, but I"m sure it's some sort of stipulation put in place by LEGO. If you sort by size, ~13 of these sets are basically 3,800 pieces or more (with most being right at 4,000). I think this channel literally just picked the biggest castle sets and went down the list wothout any consideratiin for design. There are 75+ castle sets, but somehow the "top 15" all have the most pieces. Most of pirates sets are at that limit too, as well as several of the good modulars. We might be lucky to get "Adventure in Transylvania" even (although I think it's the best set this series). Bricklink needs to expand to maybe 7 sets that get selected.
Hi. The list is exactly what I say it is - the countdown of the largest. Yes there are other medieval submissions but those are for a separate video which, to be fair, I do say in this vid
Ok, I apologize. I guess it wasn't clear to me that the sole criteria for this list was set size in terms of piece count - I guess I took the intro more as a superlatives. I fully understand the difficulty of doing a single video on this huge amount of castle sets, so thank you for the video!
Adventure in Transilvania is top notch. Unique design, perfect balance between details and and playability, great presentation. My second favourite is the Mouldy Rock. That carriage with the knight and outlaw from the Green Hills Keep could be neat little set by itself. Wolfpack really deserves some attention and I like the Wolfes' Den more, even it's lack the lava, which is cool idea. Most other castles feels somewhat generic and makes the theme a bit oversaturated with all of the recent submsissions. floating waterfall castle is an exception but it definitely needs some polishing.
I think the green hills keep is my favorite I think it’s pretty similar to the lion knight castle but I also sort of love it for that and with all the combos you can completely switch the design for play and storytelling
Loving all the castle themes in this round. I’m fine with the more “ucs” style of castle and price coming with it. I own some of the older castles and they do not compare to the new lions knights or mountain fortress and have always imagined them this way! Favs: King Returns, Dracula castle, bandit lord, black brick castle, bloody barons mansion Countryside Mill & bakery, house in the country, and medieval water mill…5 sets are not enough Lego!!!
Dracula's castle is hands down the GOAT imo. Not just in Series 5 but in all series. Will grab two for sure if it gets chosen. The other submissions are either redundant or way to busy and doesn't capture my eyes the same way as Adventures in Transylvania.
I wish they would produce litteraly all of these amazing sets. But if i had to choose3 of them it would be: 1. Wolfes Den 2. The Moldy Rock 3. Black Brick Knights Castle and if they would do one more „The Skull Keep“. Congrates to all those impressive Buildings and thanks to all those Designers. U did an amazing stunning Job ❤
I hate to say it, but even Legos’ Lion Knights Castle “feels a little cramped”. I love the build, and still is easily 1st in the G.O.AT. standings, it made me think that the only thing better would be 2 of them. I feel the same about my more recent purchase of the Viking Village. Beautiful set, love the theme (finally have a place to berth my old longboat), but it’s just too small. All of these BrickLink submissions are amazing, and I would purchase every one of them if I could. All of them though could use a good MOC-up with 2 sets. I did a 2-set redux of the ‘Friends’ Conservatory over the winter, and it is now the highlight of my town layout.
Where do they get these awesome minifigures? Are they custom mini? Love them all! I'm a 90s kid and getting back into Lego again and love love love Castle Lego. This was a great find, watching your other videos
The Mouldy Rock is the best combination of creativity, world-building, and density without having too high of a brick count. Wolves Den is a close second.
Tough decision. I think that the Adventure in Transylvania set (18:46) is probably the best designed by most metrics (aesthetics, technical design execution, playability, etc.), but I like the Wolves' Den (5:02) as far as more traditional castle sets and factions go.
green hills keep, fort by the river, the mouldy rock and bandit's lord hideout will get my vote, also, one that you didn't mention, wolf's tower are my favourites! I like the transsylvanian castle, but it's rather not a castle set and I'd like one of the castle sets to succeed, although the build is great. Waterfall castle is too much for my taste. Great video, thx a lot for it!
I love the Transylvania castle. I have been to Bran Castle in Romania and this is an awesome rendition of that. Do we know when we will be able to purchase this?
The Draculas castle is the most beautiful set I have ever seen in my life. I need it and I want you to tell me what to do to get it. Crowdfunding? What’s that? I need that more than anything.
Hanwas has had three sets already-the windmill from the previous BDP, the Ocean House this upcoming round, and then the Riverside Scholars for the next round.
That's rough. I can easily see myself support 5 of these builds and not know where to start. All things considered though, Transylvania probably has it for me. There doesn't seem to be anything I would change about that set, it completely nailed the vibe.
Adventure in Transylvania is a work of art, but the Floating Waterfall Castle is a step above Lego-it's almost ethereal. The build employs Technic, which I LOVE. It's also an amazing feat of engineering and design. Just wow. I'm going with that. Idc how much it costs, I will be purchasing it if it's the victor. The Mouldy Rock is tied with AiT for 2nd, imo. I wish we had more Lego sets like that.
All 3 so cool. Transylvania is my favourite but that floating castle is genius. Both deserve to be made. The mouldy rock is also very nice. As I mentioned would be a great blend (I think) between castle and Viking sets
00:23 Bandit Lord's Hideout: I don't like the pointy things attached to the tower. Looks more something for the bat lords + I'm not huge fan of the roof tiles that big 02:13 River Knights Watchtower: ❤ I would buy it! 03:44 Medieval Prison: I'm a Lion Knight, but this set looks too blocky 05:01 Wolves' Den: ❤ I would buy it! (but the lion knight has to be free, you can't jail santa claus) 06:40 The Mouldy Rock: looks cool, not sure I would buy it though 08:01 Archer's House Falcon Castle: not the way I imagine a medieval castle, very simplistic design 10:06 The Skull Keep: ❤ I would buy it! 11:26 Snowy Prison Stronghold: ❤ I would buy it!, unlike you even I pre-order the mountain fortress 12:03 Black Brick Knight's Castle: ❤ I would buy it! 12:55 Wolves' Cavern: I like the pillars in front of the church, but not enough to buy this set 13:54 Medieval Outpost: ❤ I would buy it!, *buddy* don't even dare to criticize the Lion Knights during my watch (I mean during I'm watching) 15:15 Fort by the River: ❤ I would buy it! reminds me a the mountain fortress 16:34 The King Returns: ❤ I would buy it! 17:37 Green Hills Keep: love the concept, not sure I would buy it though 18:45 Adventure in Transylvania: ❤ I would buy it! on my shelf it would become the bat lord's castle 20:37 Floating Waterfall Castle: ❤ I would buy it! I often use the concept of floating castle in my fantasy 3d models
I think Lego knights could go crazy these days. Lego just has to understand most people are gonna have to wait to buy big castles all the time. But the theme would still play well with the new modular style sets they do as of recent
Dracula castle stand out the most. However I would prefer one of two Wolfpack castles. You have focused on big castles, but there are also two smaller Wolpack castle submissions for around 1k pieces which are awesome. They are fresh models but they keep 90's style. 'Cause all LOTR / Ideas sets are huge lately, would be nice to get 1k set.
The Adventure in Transylvania is probably the nicest set, but it isn't a castle. The one that I'd pay good money for is that transforming castle - excellent and unique idea pulled off so well. And it would be so fun to have and display in its various configurations, you're not going to get bored with it any time soon. What I'm missing from the lineup is more castles with both large courtyards and a keep. All that beautiful landscaping grows everything vertically, but after the Lion Queens castle and the BF wintery mountain fortress, I think it would be great to see something a little more in the 12th Century English castle style.
I'm the designer of The Floating Waterfall Castle, I really thank you for appreciating my creation!

I'm a 90s kid and getting back into Lego again and love love love Castle Lego. This was a great find, watching your other videos
back in my day, castle sets weren't so cheap with the horses, usually 2 or 3 at least! Hahaha... but these are beautiful sets. Nice review points.
I love Transylania!
I hope the adventure in Transylvania gets picked. Such a beautiful and unique looking castle.
It's very good
Adventure in Transylvania is just so insanely good I want it so bad. Sleepless night needs to work for Lego
The Wolfpack Tower was one of my favourite sets as a kid so I'd be happy with anything Wolfpack related.
It would be great to see them get a proper base
The Mouldy Rock is the best combination of creativity, world-building, and density without having too high of a brick count. Wolves Den is a close second.
The Mouldy Rock is certainly cool and I think would go great on display between castles and the recent Viking inspired sets
Tough decision. I think that the Adventure in Transylvania set (18:46) is probably the best designed by most metrics (aesthetics, technical design execution, playability, etc.), but I like the Wolves' Den (5:02) as far as more traditional castle sets and factions go.
Transylvania has my vote all day! Wow!
green hills keep, fort by the river, the mouldy rock and bandit's lord hideout will get my vote, also, one that you didn't mention, wolf's tower are my favourites! I like the transsylvanian castle, but it's rather not a castle set and I'd like one of the castle sets to succeed, although the build is great. Waterfall castle is too much for my taste. Great video, thx a lot for it!
I love transylvania, it is crazy good. I want it!
Snap
I think this is the only Lego video I have checked out 4-5 times already. Amazing submissions. Too bad only one will get through.
Agreed, I would like most of them. A lot of talent on show here, I tip my hat to the fan designers
1 of EACH!! Please and Thank YOU !!
I preordered the mountain fortress as well, and I already have the lion night castle, and I feel like the falcons don't need to strong holds
True. I’d like some for the other factions
The Falcons also have the 3in1 castle too.
I just bought the viking village, so i REALLY like The mouldy rock
I love the Transylvania castle. I have been to Bran Castle in Romania and this is an awesome rendition of that. Do we know when we will be able to purchase this?
The Draculas castle is the most beautiful set I have ever seen in my life. I need it and I want you to tell me what to do to get it. Crowdfunding? What’s that? I need that more than anything.
Yeah it’s a great build. Crowdfunding via BrickLink if you create an account there but several months away yet
If Dracula's castle is chosen that would be 3 submissions for SleeplessNight
True, but I really want that Transylvania set, I think it's different and an awesome looking build
Hanwas has had three sets already-the windmill from the previous BDP, the Ocean House this upcoming round, and then the Riverside Scholars for the next round.
@deniseowens5923 very true
everyone of them were well deserving. Really talented designer
Wow the Dracula one!!!!
🤩
For me The Kings Return is by far the best😍🔥
Certainly a fantastic design 👍
Your videos are great, stud lord. Hoping your subscriber base keeps growing, you're doing good work.
🙏🏻 thanks, appreciate your support and nice words
So many beautiful castles but the transylvania castle is so cool.
So proud of my fellow Polish designer - Transylvania castle is really impressive 💥❤️🔥
Wow. Transylvania castle is amazing
Yes. So different and evocative in its styling. Great design
All I want is a Lego Icons release of Minas Tirith. "The King Returns" seems very inspired by it, but I want the WHOLE SHEBANG! 15,000 pieces!!!
Even with an extra ''0'' added to the 15,000 it wouldn't even make quarter scale. Minas Tirith is massive.
Dracula's house is my absolute favourite.
Awesome, isn't it
Nice review, andI like all the castles.
Thanks. Appreciate it 👍
That's rough.
@@Stud-LordIkr! It's only a good thing to have so many wonderful options. Bummer only one can be made.
00:23 Bandit Lord's Hideout: I don't like the pointy things attached to the tower. Looks more something for the bat lords + I'm not huge fan of the roof tiles that big
02:13 River Knights Watchtower: ❤ I would buy it!
03:44 Medieval Prison: I'm a Lion Knight, but this set looks too blocky
05:01 Wolves' Den: ❤ I would buy it! (but the lion knight has to be free, you can't jail santa claus)
06:40 The Mouldy Rock: looks cool, not sure I would buy it though
08:01 Archer's House Falcon Castle: not the way I imagine a medieval castle, very simplistic design
10:06 The Skull Keep: ❤ I would buy it!
11:26 Snowy Prison Stronghold: ❤ I would buy it!, unlike you even I pre-order the mountain fortress
12:03 Black Brick Knight's Castle: ❤ I would buy it!
12:55 Wolves' Cavern: I like the pillars in front of the church, but not enough to buy this set
13:54 Medieval Outpost: ❤ I would buy it!, *buddy* don't even dare to criticize the Lion Knights during my watch (I mean during I'm watching)
15:15 Fort by the River: ❤ I would buy it! reminds me a the mountain fortress
16:34 The King Returns: ❤ I would buy it!
17:37 Green Hills Keep: love the concept, not sure I would buy it though
18:45 Adventure in Transylvania: ❤ I would buy it! on my shelf it would become the bat lord's castle
20:37 Floating Waterfall Castle: ❤ I would buy it! I often use the concept of floating castle in my fantasy 3d models
Nice. Sadly they can't all get through - or luckily perhaps as far as the wallet is concerned!
@@Stud-Lord in my case first issue is the space lol, which is also linked to my wallet...
Thank you for the video makes it a lot more enjoyable
Found 21 sets I voted on. Most medieval sets but a few pirate ones as well.
Damn, I love them all
I think Lego knights could go crazy these days. Lego just has to understand most people are gonna have to wait to buy big castles all the time. But the theme would still play well with the new modular style sets they do as of recent
That Dracula set is just stunning. Blow everything else away, to my mind.
Totally, absolute stunner
What are those lighting candles in some of those sets? Are these renders or are these pictures somehow… where is that light up piece coming from?
Would love if some smaller kingdom sets were chosen.
Hey Maybe show some love for the snowy prison stronghold as some of us won’t be getting sleepless knight’s design? I would like it very much.
I think the skull castle needs a necromancer, acolyte and a grave digger as minifigures added. I really like the concept for it though!
The Transylvania one is by far my favourite
It is super cool
The Transylvania castle is awesome wish it was for the fright knights tho and basil the bat lord
I love the Moldy rock and would gladly pay 180+ for it
I need that Transylvania castle 🥹
I also like the bandit hideout
Both very nice, but yeah transalvania tops it for me
I would love to have the Riverknights, just a really cool looking faction we hadn’t seen yet.
The unfortunate thing is that if it is picked the torso's and shields will be stickers.
@@bz6046 The shields probably not, because they were once in the Lions Castle and already in production.
9:45, dont think that kind of vegetation would be that dence or that close to a castle back when castles was a military sort of building.
