Dear Ruth, I wish you well on your upcoming surgery. I know God will guide the hand of your surgeon to cure the illness of his faithful servant. When I was in my late 40's I experienced some prolonged health issues which were both physically & emotionally trying but God was good to me & guided me to a wonderful young surgeon who brought me back to health. I am now 69 with grown sons & 6 lovely grandchildren that back in those days I thought I would never live to see. God has been good to me & my life is so good. God Bless you & keep you!

😢sorry to hear your not well, I hope the surgery goes well and you recover soon. I need surgery too and am in chronic pains for 8 years but being in the opportunity to knit and listen to all the sweet podcasters makes my days worth living. THAT'S ME! Oh my, thank you. 🥰 What an absolute treat. ☺ As soon as I saw my name, I went to get Hubby so he could watch with me. He cheered too, big time - he knows how much I adore my knitting and yarny goodness and my delight was wildly obvious. 😁
That cheering continued when he noticed your "I need Jesus" sign/poster in the background, so I told him a bit about you. Once we squealed over my prizes, we skipped to the end of your podcast so I could show him your Christian segment at the end. Now I am skipping back to the beginning to enjoy the rest of your podcast. Just got excited and had to comment with my joy - thank you, from both of us!

Ruth, Please don't chide yourself for the state you find yourself in about knitting and podcasting as you await surgery. As one who has been through various health catastrophe's and surgeries, including the one I believe you are alluding to in your near future, I too found myself preoccupied and couldn't focus on any knitting other than the simplest patterns. However, I felt SO MUCH BETTER when it was done and I was home that it was a delight to knit more complex things again. Mojo power multiplied! Give yourself some grace if you can and I will pray for your strong constitution, skilled doctors and nurses and a speedy recovery. We'll be waiting for you, Denise

Oh sad news that we won’t see you for a while Ruth, but fully understand where you are coming from. Hopefully you will soon have the op. which I think you are waiting for, and when we see you again you will start to be on the mend. It’s draining not being 100% but sending love and prayers your way. Ruth good luck with your surgery! I’m having surgery on my hand on the 25th (rebuilding my thumb joint not a “major” surgery at all) but will be in a cast for about 6 weeks ugh no knitting! I really am stressed over that. I’m also am a nurse, (night supervisor in a 200 bed hospital) and knitting keeps me sane when I come home from work. Trying really hard to think of what else to do that will “destress”me after dealing with all the joys working in todays healthcare environment can bring😁😁😁😁 maybe I’ll rewatch all your episodes 😊 Don’t worry about us subscribers we’ll be here waiting for your return and praying for your speedy recovery.

You've given me an idea to make a cowl for my Mom who is in assisted living... She could put it on and take it off herself even with a bad shoulder. Also much less complex for me to knit for her than a sweater since I only have one under my belt and it was a four piece.. I'm still seaming it 😂 maybe in time for Rhinebeck?? 😂

I think I found the sweater pattern for you, for you MUM. The Aleas Sweater, by Isabel Kramer. If you look, at it closely, I believe the collar can be short or knit longer, thereby making it the collar your Mum wanted. If not, it is worth a look. It is a nice pattern and a simiiar look on the stitching. Anyway, hope that helps.

Total surprise how delightful your shawl turned out using the bright, stripey yarn - it never would have occured to me to put them together but it's so fun! I'd wear that over a dark outfit to feel all fun, especially on a grumpy, wintery day.
Your yarn delivery was a step beyond squeaking with joy, how absolutely wonderful!

I will be sad to not hear your lovely voice and up lifting chat, and of course the beautiful knitting. However I am very respectful of your decision to take care of yourself. Praying for your health as well. I was told my neck was terrible and the Dr didn't know how it was still supporting my head so looking at surgery it will be hard to to take time off from the needles and hooks.
