I started with a stocking first to get my hair trained to go back, than used a hair net to keep it in place....50yrs later still slicking it back minus the stocking/hairnet...good to see Chicanos not shaving their heads as much....Women love a man with a good set of hair...my opinion!...
I always tried to train my hair but I have a nasty spilt in the middle of my head and my hair falls to the side... Any tips? I was thinking of shaving my head too but I would rather have a slicc bacc
I remember back in middle school my friend RIP and i would compete to see who’s hair would be the slickest and shortest... Tres Flores and a hairnet and some hairspray.. ohh good times.
Tres Flores on mine! For those of you who aren't up on your game. Tres Flores now has a water based pomade. It's a huge improvement from their older petroleum base product. That shit is hard to wash out. Plus it'll ruin your pillow sheets. Lol
Gonna start getting into doing my hair been loving the slick back look and have tried it and love it so gonna try doing this Everytime I go out or on the weekends
What! I had no idea... I'm a woman (Black and Mexican) with really long wavy hair. I usually comb it back just like this and twist my ponytail into a ball. I like to leave the lines from the comb in it along with my waves. I grew up Black, but it's funny when I realize that I have alot of Chicano tendencies...lol. Shout out to the Ancestors...lol.
Back in my days ( 90's-01) I used some water and hairspray* Slick back with a black-comb that goes through your finger. Then put a homemade hair-net ( woman Trouser Sock: bought from any store ) till it's dry. The results look nice, slicked, and shiny . Three flowers & Murray's Hair Dressing 3-ounce Pomade was another not a big fan of Hair Gel. Now I just buzz my hair and wear a hat.
There didn't use to be this water base stuff back in the day. Your pillows used to be greasy and sticky all the time and you slept with the net to wake up with that slick back look. If you wanted to take that stuff off your head, you used palmolive dish soap to cut it right off in the shower. Nice to see the youth enjoying this look tho.
man your hair is far from messed up Looks so healthy and thick too great hair I think it would lay down better if the top is kept longer weight times the length of your hair. Also have you ever tried a light pomade or hair putty that will still give you same effect but washes out easier.
I agree weight is very important for slick backs since they're flatter. I'm not very crazy about light pomades since my hair requires grip but a good water based pomade will wash out easily.
Thats old school. I remember when i used to comb my hair like that. My hair was all greasy and it felt nasty Im glad those days are over. I was 13 now im 32.
I have to train my hair to grow back as much as it can now i am still with mid length hair so please tell me should i use this net for hair (after i make it blowdry to go back) in order to help me about growing my hair back ? Thanks.
Before you blow dry I recommend combing your hair back and then put on the net. After you blow dry leave it on for a few minutes so it's completely dry and easy to apply product.
Pancho Cortez but do you think that it might affect my volume i mean reducing it in some kind of way permamently if i repeat it every day while my hair is growing ?
Jezivi Mravojed don't over do the process but get your hair adjusted enough so that way when it's the right length it can form a good slick back. You definitely want to avoid getting split ends or thin hair.
How often does your hair come out of place with it in? Do you carry a comb on you everywhere? Also my hair's about half the length of yours, would it be worth bying pomade?
Angel A My hair normally stays in place most of the time, especially if I'm wearing a water based. I do carry a comb on me just in case and my hair isn't as long anymore but I still manage to use pomade
Yo Mr Cortez I got a really important question if you don't mind, what is that comb your using called I've been trying to find a comb to do my slick back for a long time.
Im late but after you get out the shower comb your hair back then put a lil of moco gel then apply the hair net and leave it on for awhile to train your hair back. And just repeat this routine.
Ay foo ik this video old but I just started watching this video and been doing this hairstyle. So do you wash your hair everyday? Or like do you just leave the pomade on ur hair and sleep? I use suavecito firme and sometimes the suavecito oil based one
Hey man what is the point of a hair net? I'm trying to let my hair grow out to slick it all back, but I have thinner hair which is good n bad at the same time...it's bad because it shows a lil scalp but good because it looks healthy and lays down easy, I'm trying to get any tips for this type of hair style, thanks
If your hair isn't straight & you always have pieces of hairs sticking out just comb your hair then straighten it then put whatever product, style it, and then put a hair net on
Can this method work for oil based pomades like murrays and I tried looking for the traditional hairnets at sally's couldnt find em they gave me some weird looking hairnet
