- Happy Fall Y'all!!! You had such a great response to my last video where I demonstrated how to make a pumpkin from a crochet rectangle in any stitch here: • HOW TO MAKE & STYLE A ... ! Several people asked if I had a pattern and/or tutorial for the Modified Star Stitch pumpkin that I showed in the intro for that tutorial! With the release of this video and the pattern in my Etsy and Ravelry shops, the answer is now YES... Yes, I do!
The Spring Creek Star Stitch Pumpkin is a textured crochet pumpkin pattern with a fun boho vibe! The pattern is designed in worsted weight yarn (4wt.), includes instructions for three sizes, a photo tutorial, and has a detailed explanation for creating custom sizes too!

I’m really into crocheting pumpkins this year. This stitch makes such a beautiful fabric so useful for other applications. Appreciate the tutorial to get the stitches down. And as far as charging for patterns? I so agree! Any artistic creator is due a reward for their work no matter what it is. I do some crochet designs for my own use and it takes time to work out the plan.
I’m so glad you found the tutorial! I get obsessed with making them too! Fortunately, they make great gifts for friends so I always have an outlet for them. Who doesn’t love pumpkins, after all!?!! 🎃
I so appreciate your comment about paid patterns. I wish I could make time for a blog in my life and be in a position to monetize that way, but for now, I try to balance my crochet business with family and my regular 9-5, so it’s the best way for me to start to build a meaningful income until a time when I can make the leap to full time crochet. I also put in a ton of work to pack my written patterns full of helpful photos and explanations to make those pumpkins come out perfectly from the first try! It’s fun, but you’re right, it takes time!
❤

Thanks so much I think the star stitch gives it an extra oomph! How many to chain for a bigger pumthan your medium one you have?
Thank you - I really love the star stitch! For the light orange one I showed at the beginning of the video… I chained 36 to start. The pattern includes the 3 sizes plus an explanation on how to do the math for custom sizes too! Would love to see your finished pumpkin(s)! Have fun! 🍁
@@alpenglowbasin Thanks yes I'm going to make a medium one.
Hello! I made your small pumpkin based on your tutorial, but need to know for a small pumpkin, how many do you chain for the foundation chain and how many rows? And for your large pumpkin, how much do you chain for the foundation chain and how many rows does it take to make a large pumpkin? I’m not finding the link to your free pattern?
So glad you enjoyed the tutorial 🥰 The paid, advertisement free, .pdf is available for a small fee in my Etsy or Ravelry shop @alpenglowbasin or from the link in the video description. You’ll find all the info you are looking for in the pattern. I don’t publish patterns for free at this time.
My apologies if you already know this, but bloggers who offer patterns for “free” are making money from the advertising you are shown while you are visiting their blog posts.
