@Velo Cidad I would get the 140 if you wanna jump and have a little more playful bike. And the 160 if you just care about smashing technical black trails
I am undecided bwtween the status and the enduro comp both from specialized. The status still at $3000 where im located and $4100 for the enduro comp. Should i just stay within the budget and ge the status or go all-in for the enduro comp 170/170 zeb shock, and carbon? (Which i am not fun of?) The stays comes with a NX and enduro with GX.
I definitely feel you on not wanting the carbon, but it's definitely a very common material in the industry, and if you are a more experienced rider who wants the fuller bike to send more trails with ease, then I'd get the Enduro Comp. just personal preference since I like to have a hardtail as my all around bike along with a more fully enduro bike of at least 170mm front travel and 140mm rear travel
I’m in the process of perfecting the first two prototypes of a hardtail and full suspension enduro, but based on how well it’s all coming along I expect to start selling by the end of this year! However if you are really interested feel free to contact me for more details :)
Higher end bicycle prices are a joke/rip off.....A bicycle shouldn't cost as much a name brand 250cc motorcycle.....Plus if you're paying $8,000 for a bicycle it shouldn't break so easy. The $8000 way more complicated built motorcycle with hundreds more components, both mechanical & electrical parts with some parts moving at 9,000 rpm & traveling over 65mph is more reliable than the $8000 bicycle 😂 😂
@@BenCarano The jist being the prices for high end mtn bikes are a joke/rip off. Pretty much like paying $500 for a Gucci cotton t-shirt. When u consider & compare overall everything it takes to make a decent motorcycle vs a high end bicycle. Similar to how a $60,000 decked out Harley is overpriced.....Now this specialized fs bike video showing it on sale for $2,500-ish is reasonable for what you're getting. I still think it's a little stiff but reasonable......I seen $35 carbon fiber valve stem caps 😂 Another example are those string spokes, it's a good idea & lighter but way overpriced.....Now I'm curious if they're made of spectra fiber rope? TV show Modern Marvels said spectra fiber rope is the strongest rope made.......I think it's cool you're building & trying to sell your own frame. I'd rather have a titanium frame than a carbon fiber. I think titanium has more pros vs cons when compared to CF. Especially for a full suspension mtn bike frame meant for bumps & jumps.
@@michaelbrinks8089 yah! I definitely wouldn't pay $35 for a valve stem cap lol! but $2500 is very cheap for a mtb. It all depends on the person though.... Some people like to buy things to get by and do the job, and others want quality things that perform better or last longer
@@BenCarano I see an interesting video about old Honda racing mtn bikes with a covered in frame gearbox ......The bikes weren't production bikes & only built/made for racing. The gearboxes were kept "top secret" & turned out to be basically just derailleurs inside a carbon fiber case. They were slightly heavier but did work better.
Haha I personally wouldn’t but I suppose some people with lots of money and what not who always chase the latest and greatest would! This video is more geared toward those who are looking to buy a bike and want a deal, not necessarily telling people to buy another one :)
Was gonna buy this today but TODAY specialized brought it back up to 3k
Oh no 🥲 I guess they had a enough people buying them
Currently on sale on the website as of today.
Hi, Today I went to the local bike shop here in VA, and bought a 2022 Status 160 for $1,500
Wow what a steal!!!! Glad it worked out for you!
Im in the DC area. What shop was this?
Thanks for the news.
Of course! figured I'd share for those who are looking at getting into biking and want to save a little :)
Just bought 2 status’s a 160 and a 140. Too good of a deal to pass up
Amazing! Hope you’re happy with how they ride! My buddy has one and loves it, definitely a great deal right now!!

How is the status 1400 as a trail bike? Not trying to do any xc riding but don’t wanna be left playing catch up all day on the local loop trails
I don't personally own one, but based on what makes a good trail bike the Status 140 is pretty capable for sure!
GT Sencor
Definitely another great one for a great price rn! thanks for sharing!
When can I buy a Ti Carano?

The bike industry had a crash.
Is the bike okay?
😂😂😂😂
Can you please make me a 22" BMX Suspension Frame, they are doing 20"'s (WeThePeople / Fingers Crossed) its about to kick off in that area Hopefully.
I am definitely open to customizing once I get started with the business! Sounds cool!

not sure what you mean entirely. But yah if you pay $8000 for a MTB I'd hope it wouldn't break haha

Still expensive!
Why would you want to buy a new bike every year.
