33:22 while I do think it sucks to not see Azul competing and getting to follow that story, having him continue to costream the events will continue to grow the games competitive audience. Costreaming has been proven over many esports to increase viewership and viewer retention overall. Not only that but if you tune in you also get analysis from one of the top players which increases others understanding and interests of high level pokemon. Some tradeoffs as a viewer for sure but there’s lots of good players for us to keep our eyes on, they just gotta start pushing more and better content and they’ll move more into the general public’s view.
Nah that dude is tall. It’s nice being able to see across the venue without a giant sticking out among the crowd . I even seen him bench pressing some juniors and seniors right before his matches
I met chip at my LGS I did a double take and was dude I just listened to the pod on the way here, huge fan. I was gonna ask him to sign my shiny mew but he bought dragapult cards n dipped Think I freaked him out a lil lmfao
Best deck list mistake I’ve made was at a City championship I wrote 4x Time Space Distortion instead of 4x Broken Time Space in my Gyarados list. The Judge at the time was very surprised when I whipped out 4 Time Space Distortion out of the binder instead of using Basic energy.
Each big Magic format is played competitively. For Commander it's called CEDH (Competitive EDH), where it's just down to the power level of the deck. Most of the formats are at least somewhat popular, with Commander by far being the most popular. CEDH games are also pretty much over in turn 3-4
The story of mtg’s standard format is so goofy. The card devs kept making baffling balance choices with some of the cards, allowing for decks with power levels far beyond what standard normally has including at least one fairly consistent infinite combo (Saheeli cats anyone?) They changed how rotation worked a few times, making it so cards that were never intended to be played in standard together were now creating synergies and combos the devs never intended. At one point Wizards stopped all support for high tier standard events while keeping or even increasing support for other formats. Standard didn’t just naturally die off. Wizards of the Coast killed it.
They announced that Standard is going to be the format for some amount of regional championship qualifiers next season, so it sounds like they’re gonna try and revive it.
Buffs are for defense mode when you're forced going second and want slower game. When you're behind you can\t force dusknoir so buffs are you're win condition to come back. Good vs Zard, Mirror, Drago. Operates mostly as sudo Manafy also.
It’s wild to me that Pioneer now has a card pool as big as Modern did when it first started. I remember when Pioneer was a new idea and some considered it a joke of a format. And now there are major events for it. Wild.
I didn't have all the ace specs when I played when scramble switch was around so I had it in my Mewtwo ex/crobat ex deck and yes it was not a great deck it's just what cards I have
I don't really blame azul for not wanting to play, I think the game has been going back downhill for a while now and is just getting less and less fun to play. It's either that or he just doesn't care to compete anymore cause the past two regionals have essentially been new formats
Sounds boring always picking what your opponent gets to knock out. Gust effects mix it up, and make it so you can't bench 2 prize supporters for absolutely free. We have hand control, and need board control aswell. Hard disagree

It does feel bad not seeing Azul at these events.

I'll be bringing my son to compete at Louisville, hope I get a chance to say hi Chip!

@@JamFlexx I found a card recently that I'm hoping to give him lol

No cap I got the Machoke flavor text immediately after Azul read it before Chip even said anything! Believe me, don’t believe me, I’m proud of myself.
If there's one thing I've learned, it's that Azul hates Raging Bolt

I won back to back weekend local tournements with Pult leaning heavily on the EXP-Share. People had a tough time dealing with it.
You still play crystal/Crispin?
what we talking, 2 exp share
@@JamFlexx Crystal, 1 Crispin, 1 EXP-Share, 1 Earthen Vessel, 1 Night Stretcher.
Who’s here for the Raging Bolt hate?
Not me :(
I think you mean raging bulk
Rage-mid Bolt
You mean raging over losses
+2 points on flavour text, at 91 now. I, like chip, also wanted to confirm stage 1 or stage 2 before locking in lol

There is definitely CEDH (competitive commander) but the most popular 60 card formats for magic is probably modern
I believe the old man actually has a Machop in Pokemon Yellow, but Machoke was very obvious as the answer, got it immediately

We'll see what's up at Japans next major. I am also surprised that they don't take Turtle seriously in a Bo1 format.
In magic pioneer has a 10year cardpool so its pretty big

Now Azul has a quest: Top 8 with Meowstic lol
Yall forgetting kyurem for then
Pallosand deck?
I used to play Scramble switch in Yveltal EX M Manectric EX
Probs some where in Germany or Spain
I didn't have all the ace specs when I played when scramble switch was around so I had it in my Mewtwo ex/crobat ex deck and yes it was not a great deck it's just what cards I have
Yeah! there IS competitive commander (cEDH). There’s a meta, the game doesn’t last as long as casual commander, you could win in round 2 or 8/10 max
Raging bolt is new Tina😂
Pablos LAIC run cut shirt by not putting any supporters is one of the funniest tcg moments
I’m a dumbass 🫠
What are you doing Azul? Not trying to go to Worlds?
Azul, Lille is basically pronounced Leel
That thumbnail.
You know you can take a train to london?
I just searched this up on YT to check up on the channel since I haven’t played in a month and see another new episode. Keep up the good work guys.
Frankfurt
tord didnt draw well you said? I thought you were a believer in not getting unlucky haha
I've never said that - Azul

I for one am very ready for Boss to rotate. Gust does have a place in the game, but you should have to work for it.

Do not go to Perth please, I was intending on winning that one
