- My experience completing 88 days of farm work in Australia to get the 2nd year working holiday visa (WHV) subclass 417.
I worked in an apple packing shed in a small town called Stanthorpe in south Queensland.
Farm work is not easy but it is a once in a lifetime experience! The end of this video will show my favourite memories :)

When I was a student I would go fruit picking during the semester breaks and I met lots of international backpackers. They were called tourists in those days.Obviously friendships develop and if you follow the advice here and do your 88 days early, you will be able to set up connections all over Australia. So when you arrive somewhere, you will know people. They might provide accommodation, help you or at least give you an introduction to how the locals live.
We should be there on work visa ????
How to apply madam
hi .i am watching your video from Bangladesh

Heya thabks for the video. Did you apply onshore for your next whv? Im applying for my 3rd onshore and confused about when it starts. Does it start when second ones ends?
@@hattieburroughs3507 Hey! Yep I have my 3rd yr WHV and applied from Australia. My understanding is that your 3rd yr visa starts the day it is granted (if you are applying from Australia) but you still get 3 whole years. Let me know if you have any more qs :) hope that helps!
@@LifeofPQ hey thank you, but how do you have 3 whole years if it starts the day it was granted? (I'm applying months before my 2nd one ends)
@@hattieburroughs3507 I applied for my 3rd year visa in Feb 2024 6 months before my 2nd year visa was up and my 3rd year visa was granted soon after I applied so my new visa expiry date is Aug 2025 and not Feb 2025 if you get me :)
@@LifeofPQ awsome thank you so much! You star ⭐
@@hattieburroughs3507 no probs☺️
Soft generation! In the middle of nowhere and working 45 hours a week. Normal working hours in Australia 38 - 40 per week. Yet only two hours from Brisbane. 🤣🤣I’m sure you can still get a latte.
Lattes are for soft people bro. Long blacks are the real deal😆
Hi thank you for the video!
I’ll almost get my 88 days!
In a short time I’m 31 years old (Belgium)
Can i apply for a 2nd year working holiday visum? Maybe I’m to old?
If they approve i will get 32 during my 2nd year Holiday.
Hope someone can help me out of here :)
Thanks a lot!
Hey! Congratulations on almost finishing your 88 days :) I believe you must be 30 years old at the time of applying for your 2nd year WHV (if from Belgium) hope this helps :)
Hello please I need help from you, am a ghanaian, currently living in UAE. I want to migrate to Australia for farm job. Please I need a sponsorship. Thank you.
Hi! If you have a UAE passport you might be able to get sponsored by an employer in Australia. I don’t know too much about employer nominated visas but if you get in contact with a migration agent they might be able to help. Good luck :)
Av applied 😢😢Soo many times am giving up💔
I wanna get out here to Australia man
I'm an American who wants to go work on a farm in Australia 🇦🇺 who can I talk to in order to find work and obtain a working visa

Hello can we be friends
Hi! Thanks for watching :)
Hi !! Thanks for your video ~
Do you have a recommended place, farm, or island for hospitality work for the 88 days? I need to start after my East Coast tour at the end of the year in Cairns.
Hey! Glad you enjoyed the video☺️ I completed my 88 days doing the one job so I don’t know what other farm work jobs/hospitality work would be like. My guess is that the closer you are to a fun city the harder it will be to get a hospitality job because the demand will be high and accommodation will more likely be more expensive. If you can aim to find a job that will give you guaranteed long hours and isn’t too hard on your body I would go with that! Hope this helps in some way! :)
Hey in from england how much cash should i take for 3 months stay also in traveling solo
Hey, are you planning on working and traveling or just traveling? Staying in a hostel dorm in Sydney is at least $1200 Australian dollars a month. Then, food shopping is pretty expensive and I’m guessing if you’re coming over you will want to see and do as much as you can so I would definitely be prepared to save quite a bit but it is well worth a trip!☺️
Please, I am from Nigeria and presently in Nigeria, my dream is to go to Australia but I don't have the financial strength. Can you help me with farming jobs opportunities with sponsorship for me?
If you know other countries also kindly intimate me.🙏

Can you please let me know how to apply for it and whats the process
If you go onto the immi.homeaffairs Australian visa website you can see all the different visas you can apply for and the requirements for each one :)
My nationality Indian how can apply for the job
You’ll have to check on the immi.homeaffairs website and see if you can get the working holiday visa
Please what are the documents u submit for the visa to be approved?
For 1st year visa (subclass 417) you need a copy of your passport and $5000 AUD in your bank account.
For 2nd year visa you need to upload your regional work payslips and give details of your employer to show that you worked the 88 days
Hi Paula, great video. Really enjoyed it! Just have a quick question. Do you think it's better to find a farm that provides it's own accommodation? Or is it better to stay in a working hostel separate to the farm you're working on. Was just thinking from the point of view that it may be financially better if the farm provides you with accommodation? As with the working hostel you're probably paying an amount every week which is coming out of your wages? Appreciate any insight you may have !
Hey Patrick, thanks for watching! I don’t know anyone who stayed on a farm that they working on but yeah I’d say it would be ideal and would make things cheaper. I think if you’re doing regional work you’ll save regardless tho cause there is nothing to spend your money on except food/drink😆 Accommodation at the hostel I stayed at was half the price of what I’m paying for accommodation now in Sydney. Hope this helps in some way :)
@@LifeofPQ that's great Paula thank you very much for the reply! I'm also from Ireland heading to Australia next week so just doing a bit of research! Hope you're enjoying Sydney 😁
