Are there any special licenses or forms of paper work needed to get into the pier ? I saw something about having to have some sort of card or paper work to get in?
Lovely video. Can one fish north pier? Just over a year ago I went down to fish there with my grandson and was turned away by a security guard. We then went to the yacht club and tried to fish there. It was spring tide and the rubbish coming down was unbelievable. Had to give up. Do you need a permit to fish there? If so where do you get one? From Pietermaritzburg

Transnet permit needed, they stopped issuing some time back

The fish doesn't suffer. At least they are returned alive to support future growth. This is the correct way to enjoy fishing.
